Ai Yai Yai!
First off, I want to say to everyone here at the site how absolutely sorry I am. The transition (way too early in coming-it caught me off-guard!) from summer back into school was a very, very difficult one to manage. I went from having all the time in the world to having homework in every single subject every single night (and today was only my third day of school.) I know that is no excuse, but I hope that it will serve as an explanation for my unscheduled and unanticipated absence.
Even though I am to blame as well, Kate Lynn and I have come to a conclusion together. Both of us on equal playing fields have poured a bit of ourselves into this site: both at its founding in April, it's rebirth in June, and its recent revamp last week. We don't want to pour ourselves into an inactive site: it's not something we can handle dealing with. Blame it on our fragile psyche.
So, last week-even though there was no update written, which was my fault-we created an activity check. Anyone without administrative approval who did not post in those sections is considered inactive on the expiration day-today. And if I were particularly cruel, you would be deleted this very minute for being considered inactive. All those inactive members, though, will get one email from me in the next fifteen minutes.
If by Thursday at 12:00 AM EST, those members have not posted on the activity check, their accounts will be deleted. We need to have an active site, and it's almost heartbreaking from an administrative perspective to see a site you put so much time into die.
I ask, though, before you post in the activity check section-you consider how active you are going to be. Do the site a service, if you don't wish to be with us any longer, request to have yourself removed. If you love ASF like most of us do, and want to stay, please, post! Show your love! But don't keep us guessing-I'd rather you tell us you want to leave than sit there and pretend you want to be here.
In other news, I need my members advertising. I know this is another awkward time of year as we kick off the transition back into school, but we CAN get new members. I know we can. So, let's try, hm?
And yes, it completely got away from me, but OTMs are sneaking up on us again. The nominations are due by Wednesday next week, and you'll notice a change in the sidebar by the weekend.
I love you all, so so much. Kate Lynn does too.
