Connecticon is held annually in Hartford Connecticut from July 7-9, and this year Ambition has a table in the Artist Alley. We'll be selling prints and possibly posters, and if you drop by and make puppy eyes, we'll likely sign them for you (But you must buy! Give us money, I say!). We might even dance. Hope to see you there.

Yeah, well... We can't afford to go to Germany either. sad.gif Silly thing...needing money to travel. Maybe far in the future?

Thanks for the thought, anyway. Once I sell prints at the con I'll offer them at the site too, so you won't miss out on that opportunity at least!

Ok, thanks for the quick reply

Yeah, I guessed that it would be the same vice versa sad.gif

*hopes that flying and holidays / vacations are getting cheaper*

Thanks for the offer of offering the prints at the site also - but I think the shipping costs are horrid, are they?

I hate to say it, but thanks to working for a Travel Agency, I know...

Price's will likely just get higher as time goes on. They even have a new tax called "Fuel Surcharges" on every single flight! The ones I've seen (all international) average $150 and will be higher or lower depending on destination and airline. Rather sucky if you ask me It's gonna make it really hard to get to Japan... ever... >.<

Oh yeah, also here they charge for fuel extra sad.gif but there is much competition going on here so that you can get cheap inter-European flights (cheapest fare about 9 € + tax + fuel up to 180 € + tax + fuel - no service on board (you have to pay your meal if you want one tongue.gif) - but for the cheap flights you have to book 4 to 5 months ahead - and there will be no refund of the ticket) huh.gif

Hope that international flights would come down regardless blink.gif

I really wish I could go and meet you guys and get some artwork. Unfortunately, I'm waaaaaay over in the west of Canada. However, I might soon be moving to just outside of Washington, D.C. if all goes well and I can figure out how to get a work visa. I think that's a lot closer to where you are, so then it might be a lot easier to get to a con. I need to brush up on my US geography...

D.C. is pretty close to Hartford. Like, 4-8 hour drive depending on the route you take and the traffic you run into, much faster by train, and far faster by plane (1 and 1/2 hr.). Just outside of D.C. is my old stomping grounds - I grew up in Maryland suburbia. I don't think we can afford Otakon (in Baltimore) this year, but next year we hope to attend that one too.

It'd be wicked sweet to see you there!

My mate is taking his Phd at the University of Maryland, so we'd be living around thereabouts. He's currently living right across the street from campus, yet somehow he's not in College Park, but in some other town... the name of which escapes me at the moment... All these suburbs are so confusing.

But yeah, if/when I move there we'll have to see if I can attend one of said functions. Or just meet up with you guys sometime. That would be fun too. smile.gif

Sadly, living in the chicago area... that's a wee bit far to go.

Anime Central just occurred though, so I was able to settle seeing some other great webcomics.

Just seems a shame that webcomics apparently don't merit their own con... they have to play side show at anime cons and what not. I do realize many are done in a manga style.. but so many aren't.

If there is a con for webcomics, Connecticon is the one, actually. They have special events just for webcomics, and we get into their program book free on merit of being an attending webcomic. Kinda sweet.

Ohh but that would be awesome. It seems like all the conventions which I'd want to go to for their own merits (not just because all of my friends are going and it might be fun, depending) are too far away for me to make it, though. ):

...Well, not terribly far, since Connecticut isn't too far from the border, but I hardly have any means of getting there.

(Being as how I've finally started up that webcomic I was on about way back... it's even more fun than I thought it would be C: )
