Description:

Mark Sloan isn't nicknamed McSteamy for nothing. With his chiseled jaw line and icy blue eyes, how could you resist? He stands about six foot one and is known to enjoy parading around without his shirt on. What? Someone needs to admire his physique that he works so hard for. He doesn't have quite the hair that Derek does, but he does maintain a very precise growth of facial hair along his jaw line and above his upper lip.

Mark can be found in the traditional navy blue scrubs that all of the attendings wear around Seattle Grace, occasionally with a white lab coat thrown on over them. Outside of the hospital, he generally dresses fairly nicely; button downs with slacks and a belt around his waist, polished shoes on his feet. He also is pretty fond of his black bomber jacket which he can be seen wearing to the hospital as well on rainy days.

[[The Person You Are]]

General Personality:

Mark is easily one of the most misunderstood people at Seattle Grace, maybe in the city of Seattle as a whole. Not known for taking fidelity too seriously, he is generally thought of as a bed-hopping, egotistical prick by anyone who has tried to tie him down. Though he has a rough exterior and even rougher way with people, he too is human and does have feelings. Case in point, though he will always tell Derek he came to Seattle for him, he really came to bring Addison back to New York. She was the one woman he's ever really said he loved and truly meant it with everything in him and he wasn't going to let that go so easily.

He often feels like an outsider and therefore is more inclined to make friends with others who feel as though they are on the outside, like Callie Torres who he ended up befriending at Joe's out of mutual misery. Witty and charming, he'll flirt with just about any woman he finds remotely attractive, particularly the nurses. Commitment phobia seems to be a running theme throughout his life, most likely stemming from his distant relationship with his own family.

Hobbies/Interests: Women, sex, and surgery. And that's basically it. That and just being all around inappropriate.
Likes: His job, Manhattan, sex, flustering people, ferryboats, bone dry cappuccinos.
Dislikes: Seattle, rain, any sort of flavoring in his coffee.
Strengths: Charming, smart, funny.
Weaknesses: Lacks the understanding of monogamy, conniving, abuses his interns.

Sample Roleplay:

I have a couple of examples, neither are Grey's Anatomy based however. I'm in a couple of RP communities; the first one is from a celebrity based RP on LJ and the second is from a PB based community on IJ. My writing generally depends on the other person I'm writing with; I adapt my style to my partner as best I can.

While Nicole got ready to meet up with Eric, she started feeling queasy. She could actually feel her stomach flip as she zipped up her sun dress. She didn't really know why because it wasn't like she expected anything out of it, it was just something she honestly did not want to be doing at all. Everything in her was telling her this was not the right thing to do, but she went against all logic and got in her car anyway. If she didn't get this over with now, who knows when her next opportunity would be to even see the light of day outside of work. Burning bridges wasn't her thing and though Eric had expressed no interest in trying to be civil, that didn't mean she wasn't going to try anyway. She liked to think of herself as the bigger person and the only way she could be truly convinced that she was in fact the bigger person was if she extended an olive branch. Whether he'd accept it or not, she didn't really know. Hell, she may even be stood her up for all she knew, it wouldn't shock her.

Nicole pulled up to the coffee shop and looked around for his car to see if he was there already. Before walking in, she took a deep breath and walked in confidently; shoulders back, head held high, heels clicking on the wood floors. She ran a hand through her hair as she stepped up to the counter to put in her order and pay, then stood to wait for her coffee. Peering around casually, she tried to see where he was sitting. Finally spotting him, she raised her eyebrows at him, forcing a tight-lipped smile on her face as she snatched her coffee off the counter and walked over to his table. "Hey," she muttered uncomfortably as she slid into the chair across from him and set her purse down in the chair next to her.

It was about damn time she got to know these people outside of work. With all of the people that worked at Spent, she knew there had to be some good gossip and she wanted in on it ASAP. Not one to gossip while on the job, Addison was planning on taking the opportunity to do so tonight at Thom Bar. As she meandered around her apartment, she gathered her things into her Chanel bag with one hand while slipping on her heels with the other as she stumbled across the room. Her apartment was a disaster, with old Vogue magazines scattered on the floor along with piles of designer clothes that she just couldn't be bothered to hang up, and this made it nearly impossible to walk normally, let alone find anything she needed to bring with her. Finally, after about 10 minutes of trying to figure out which lip gloss looked best, she walked out the door, locking it behind her.

Several years of experience and she'd become a professional at waving down taxis. So of course she was able to grab one in no time. About half an hour later, her taxi had come to a stop in front of 60 Thompson and she climbed out, handing the cab driver a fist full of cash before turning around and confidently striding inside, a bright smile glued on her face.

Pulling her long blonde hair over one shoulder, she walked up to the bar and ordered an appletini. While she waited, she casually turned to look for Bernadette or Mikhail, tap-tap-tapping her nails on the counter as she did so. She managed to search them out with her eyes as the bartender set her drink in front of her. Addison gave him one of her signature flirtatious winks and walked off to meet up with her new co-workers, drink in hand.
