Character Information Basics Full Name; Atticus James Saunders Nickname(s); Mostly AJ, but some call him Attie Age; 17 Gender; Male Date of Birth; May 7 Year(if student); Seventh House(if student); Hufflepuff Blood; Muggleborn Other; Wand: His wand is 14" of oak with a unicorn tail core. Pet: Large Eagle Owl, Apollo Animagus: Summer just wasn’t a time to relax for AJ. He furthered himself intellectually as well. He took it upon himself to learn to transform into his chosen animal form. Yes he desired to become an animagus, so he registered, not wanting to do it illegally, and he began studying. He put his whole self into learning how to transform. What is his animal form you ask? Why AJ chose to be a bear, specifically a black bear. Why a bear? An old friend compared him to a bear once and he just decided to go with it. So AJ is a black bear. It may not seem like a useful form to take, but he gains great strength in the form and he suddenly becomes very adept at climbing trees. It’s very useful in the Forbidden Forest. The feature that labels him as an animagus is his eye color. No black bear has such piercing blue eyes. However, AJ as a bear does.
Appearance Person using (celebs name): Chace Crawford
150+ words. Now I’m sure all of you from the last sites recall AJ in his sixth year, but he’s matured since then. The boy is now a man. He’s finally grown taller. Since his sixth year he’s sprouted at least two inches, leaving him standing somewhere in between 6' even and 6'1". All his diligent work outs have obviously been worth it. His muscles have really begun to show now that his shoulders have broadened and his body has reached it’s maximum height. He has a body to be envious of, though it’s a very attainable goal. AJ can tell you that himself. He’ll even ask that you work out with him. It’s not like he just has a naturally muscular body. Working hard over the years has sculpted his body for him.
His face could once be called a baby face, but no more. He’s lost every bit of his baby fat. Like his body, his face is chiseled, leaving his with well defined cheeks bones and a strong straight nose that you couldn’t notice before. Stubble seems to add to the new maturity of his face. He’d like to say that he purposely lets himself grow stubble to make himself look a little more rugged, but that’s not the reason. He just forgets to shave sometimes. It still doesn’t look bad on him though. He never really had to shave until the summer, but now he thinks he could practically grow a beard in two days. He misses the old days and yet he enjoys his new mature looks and the bragging rights that he gets for being able to grow a beard so quickly. Forget five o’clock shadow. He’s got two o’ clock shadow.
AJ’s eyes are the same piercing blue that they always were, but his hair has lost it’s dirty blond color and become more of a sandy brown that has natural blond in it. In his opinion, this change in hair color adds to his mature looks. Being blond made him look younger. Now that he’s finally grown into his looks a change in hair color looks completely natural and was kind of expected. He’s not sure why, but he never expected to be blond forever.
Personality 250+ words. At one point in time, Atticus was very open. He put himself out there and had a kind of wholesome confidence that came from his innate ability to trust and naivety. However, things have changed since he was sixteen. He’s not as trusting anymore. Nor does he have the confidence he once had. Due to his personal issues, his old personality and genuine trust and good nature have evaporated. His somewhat good humor, which could almost be described as childlike, is gone. Not only have his looks matured, but his personality seems to have made the switch as well, though he often wonders if it’s a permanent change.
He does not easily trust anyone anymore unless they earn it these days. Either they have to earn his respect by showing him they’re a decent person in some way, like doing something brave or showing good character, or he has to be friends with them for a long time. If he is friends with someone for a good long time, then he will begin to trust them, even if it is a slow trust. However, a very select few have been known to get through to him. That’s not to say he acts shy and guarded though. He’s outgoing and loves to have a good time, but just because he chats with someone and hangs out with them doesn’t mean he trusts them. Usually the girls get to him much more easily. Something about a girl in his arms makes him let down his guard more easily. He has a weakness to puppy eyes and pouty faces, and it’s obvious. No; Atticus can’t say no to a pretty face.
There is an protective layer over Atticus now. He refuses to acknowledge that there is something below that layer these days, so he fully embraces his new persona. His confidence, once genuine, is no longer the same. Now it is more of a false self confidence. He even comes off as a little arrogant sometimes, though he desperately tries not to be. His confidence now acts as an outer shell that conceals his softer, more vulnerable self. However, this confidence does do the job of making him outgoing and fun loving. If anything, he’s over fun loving. Anger and happiness are the only emotions he embraces. Any negative emotion triggers his temper and any positive one is channeled into happiness. However, most will never see his angry side. Only those who know him fairly well, or those who really get under his skin, see him blow his top. His outer layer of confidence keeps anything from bothering him on the surface. It may bother him on the inside, but he won’t show it and just makes a joke out of everything.
Beneath his outer layer, Atticus is a little softer then he used to be, a little more vulnerable, which is why he will let nothing get through that outer layer. It’s easier just to pretend nothing that there is no depth beneath the surface. If he is confronted with anything that threatens to affect his inner self then he will either make it into a joke or put on a cover of emotionlessness. Sometimes his horrible temper even gets away from him. It’s a good thing he has physical strength to back up his temper or he would probably have been beaten to a pulp by now. Anger is hardly ever seen in public if he can help it though. Instead he bottles it up until he’s somewhere more secluded where he can just punch a wall rather than a face. He could be accused of not dealing with his emotions, which is true, but he won’t deal with that either. Atticus just refuses to feel anything he doesn’t want to feel. In his mind, he is the master of his own emotions. However, that is an ignorant way to look at it.
Personal History 150+ words. Atticus James Saunders was born to James Saunders and his young wife Mary Ann, formerly Phelps, now Saunders. AJ’s childhood was a happy one. His parents got along, he was a bright young boy, and he was the apple of both his parents’ eyes. He was their only child, so he received all of their attention. Everything was fine and dandy until his father began drinking more. He was in no way an alcoholic, but with drinking more came eating more. The man began to get very, very lazy. He began gaining weight and stopped attending work regularly. He was fired from his office job, and relied on Mary Ann to bring home the bacon. Naturally the woman grey disgusted with her husband, and finally she couldn’t take it anymore. She left the family, leaving AJ behind, saying that he would remind her too much of his father. He did bear an uncanny resemblance to the man even if he was only eight when she left.
Mary Ann quickly got remarried and had another child, a daughter named Ann. AJ is not at all familiar with the man his mother married, some guy named Tim, but he is still very close with his little half sister, who is nine years his junior. His mother allows him to visit and he takes every chance to do so. Ann knows everything about him and absolutely loves having a big brother. She even knows that AJ is a wizard, something his mother is in the dark about. She just thinks he is away at boarding school.
Atticus spent most of his childhood locked up in his room, playing by himself. He chose to be there though. He didn’t want to even see his father and the only time he came out was to go to the bathroom and eat. His father didn’t really care much about him anyway and just ignored him. After Atticus was sent his school letter, his dad got excited, thinking Atticus could make his life easier with magic, but Atticus would not. He took all his things and moved out to an apartment, where he stays during the summer. He stays at school through the breaks though, trying to keep as far away from the muggle world as possible.
Since he has moved out away from the man who spends the majority of his time sitting in an easy chair and watching tv with a beer in one hand and a handful of chips in the other, AJ has complete freedom. Maybe too much freedom. He took advantage of his freedom over the summer between his sixth and seventh year and got in with a bad crowd. It was during this time that his personality changed. A bout of substance abuse took away his innocence and his trust. “Friends” betrayed and life was not grand, so he was more then happy when he ditched his muggle friends to come back to Hogwarts. They’ll be waiting for him next summer though.
Family Background 80+ words. The Saunders family was once a well respected family. Both James and Mary Ann had good job as executives, but when they got divorced everything changed. Mary Ann is still respected and her family lives well and are fairly wealthy, but James is living in the smallest flat in London. He lives in near poverty and relies on his unemployment check to get him through the month. He works as a salesman. It’s the perfect job for him. He doesn’t have to move unless he wants to. However he doesn’t make any money unless he gets off his ass, which hardly ever happens. Needless to say, the man doesn’t make much money on his own. You may be wondering: How does he collect an unemployment check if he’s employed. He’s payed under the table. It’s not on the books, so he basically lies to the government and collects an undeserved unemployment check. So, as you can plainly see, James family equals poor, and Mary Ann’s family equals wealthy. Naturally AJ relies on his mother to fund his very small apartment in London. The woman will give him nearly any amount of cash to keep him from visiting too often. The woman really does hate to be reminded of her old husband.

QUOTE
[Yes I once played Abraxas Malfoy, son of Draco] The sun was nearly setting by the time the brilliant blue eyes of Abraxas Malfoy opened. His nap had lasted longer then planned, but it had sure been a good one. He would gladly give up a few hours of his afternoon and early evening for such a restful, dreamless sleep. Lately his nights had been miserable. He had been tossing and turning in his bed, hoping that sleep would come to him. It was a struggle to fall asleep, and when he finally managed to close his eyes, his slumber was troubled. It was never a deep sleep either. Any little sound could wake him from his fitful slumber; one of his roommates snoring, someone coming up the dorm stairs, anything.
Why he was having trouble sleeping he didn’t know. Abraxas’ life was exactly the same as it had been for years...since his first year to exact. Perhaps he was finally feeling the pressure of bringing honor back to the name of Malfoy was finally getting to him. Of course that couldn’t be it. Abraxas Malfoy didn’t succumb to pressure. In fact, he thrived under it. Some of his best work was performed when he was under extreme pressure. Pressure wasn’t the problem. Abraxas was confident that he would have no trouble redeeming his family name. Perhaps he was to confident, but overconfidence is not necessarily a bad thing.
There were only a few things in Abraxas’ life that could cause him to lose sleep. His mother was a main one. Jadzia Malfoy could be one imposing woman when she wanted to be. Abraxas had often heard that she was the only woman that could keep Draco under her thumb. Pity she had never been interested in Draco for anything other then his money. Even with Draco dead, Jadzia was still a very imposing woman. Despite all of Abraxas’ rebellion the woman some how managed to dominate him. If only she didn’t have control of the Malfoy fortune right now. Abraxas couldn’t do much without worrying about being disinherited, but once he was eighteen he would be in charge. He was the heir after all. Then he could finally ditch Jadzia.
It was no coincidence that he was having trouble sleeping at the time when his mother was supposed to show up. He abhorred seeing the woman and would escape if he could. He didn’t actually think she was coming under he had received an letter in the beak of a familiar barred owl. He had known right away that it was from his mother, though the handwriting was not hers. Lately she had taken to dictating to one of their house elves. The parchment with the familiar writing of his mother’s scribe was still clutched in his hand. Even as he slept the crumpled paper had remained balled in his fist. He didn’t want to read it again. He could practically hear his mother’s voice, complete with polish accent, as he read it, and just hearing that woman’s voice made him want to hex someone.
Abraxas, It appears as though I must attend this parents day at Hogwarts or else we’ll appear abnormal. I will arrive directly on time. No need to worry about me showing up early and I would never embarrass you by showing up late. I have other things to attend to that day though, so I won’t be staying extremely long. I’m sure that you won’t be too broken up about this. Do you need any money? I’ll bring some. Maybe that will make you happy. I’ll see you soon,
Jadzia Malfoy
It wasn’t a long letter, but that was his mother. She was short and to the point. She never used up any energy on things she didn’t deem worthy of exertion. She probably didn’t like the idea of coming to Hogwarts and spending part of her busy day in the castle, but she would come just to look she was a normal mother, one who cared for her son and his well being. Truthfully, she and Abraxas had never gotten along. He had fought her through every bit of his childhood. He believed she hated that he had inherited mostly Malfoy traits. The woman probably thought she had been rid of Draco only to have her son take on the image of the man she had married.
Abraxas lazily pulled his wand out of the pocket of his robes and muttered something as he pointed it at the parchment. It wasn’t clear what he had said until the letter began smoking and flames began to curl at the edges of it. He tossed the page a short distance away and watched his incendio spell take affect. Soon all that was left of his mother’s letter was ash. Somehow that made him feel better. Sweeping some of his blond hair out of his face, Abraxas put his arms behind his head and leaned back, intending to lay in the exact spot on the strangely comfortable grass until the sun set.
