Main Thread: http://z8.invisionfree.com/The_Glass_Menag...hp?showtopic=34

Basically, everyone's at lunch and Millie (Slytherin, Malfoy's ex) kisses Sean (Gryffindor). Since everyone eats lunch, everyone has a chance to post a reaction if they wish. The length is up to you; it can be 10 words or 1000 words. I just think it'd be interesting to see how various students react. XD

EDIT: READ THE MAIN THREAD It's funny, going through and reading the reactions, I can tell who read the thread and who didn't. If you said it's breakfast where it was clearly stated this took place at lunch, I'm gunna know you didn't read it. It's not really that big of a deal, but it does make you look silly. XD

Something has changed within me; Something is not the same.
I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game.
Too late for second-guessing; Too late to go back to sleep.
It's time to trust my instincts: Close my eyes and leap.

It's time to try defying gravity; I think I'll try defying gravity.
And you can't pull me down.
I'm through accepting limits 'cuz someone says they're so.
Some things I cannot change, But 'till I try, I'll never know

Eva groaned as she looked down at her near empty plate. Near empty meant nearly done, and nearly done meant it was nearly time for class, something that she just did not feel like going to this morning, especially seeing as it was transfiguration, her worst class. Sure, she’d could probably do halfway decent in the class if she actually worked at it, but she figured that a future a race car driver didn’t need to know how to transfigure and porcupine into a hubcap. As she stuffed the last bit of her toast in her mouth, she became aware of the Great Hall falling silent around her.

She looked up from her plate and glanced around for a few seconds till she spotted what everyone had obviously gone silent at. Eva’s mouth dropped open in shock. Millie Azure kissing Sean Allcott. The pretty, stuck up princess of Slytherin kissing a Gryffindor for all to see. Needless to say, that was the last thing Eva ever expected the girl to do. She watched as she stepped away and said something to him, a small smile forming on her face. This had been the girl that had been so gung-ho about the division between the houses when Eva had first arrived at Hogwarts.

Eva couldn’t help the small grin that formed on her face. It seemed the younger girl had learned that what house you are in didn’t matter and what she had just done had to have taken a lot of guts for her to do.

“Way to go, Azure!” she shouted into the silence that filled the Great Hall. She laughed at the odd looks that were thrown her way, before taking a sip of her pumpkin juice.

Talia drug herself to the Ravenclaw table, just behind a group of Ravenclaws and some Gryffindor. Dropping her bag underneath the bench, she plopped down in front of an empty plate, looking around for Andy. Thinking that he must be stirring up mischief in another part of the castle and is too busy for lunch, she gave up and let her gaze wander down the Ravenclaw table as her fellow classmates started to settle in for lunch. As she did, her eyes fell upon that Alcott bloke with her fellow Ravenclaw housemate. She never really understood that relationship, but to each his own.

She was growing bored of waiting for her meal to arrive, but just before she let her gaze move on to the Hufflepuff table, she realized that Millie Azure, school-renowned Slytherin Ice Queen, had approached said couple. Talia was not one to keep up with the local gossip, but there was something that was pretty well known about Slytherin's and Gryffindors: they did not affiliate. Ever.

And apparently, this was one of those rare occasions where that rule was broken.

Talia rose an eyebrow as the distance between Azure and Alcott was closed, watching her classmate's reaction closely. Her heart went out to her housemate, though if it were happening with any other house member, Talia wouldn't give a rat's arse. But since it's a housemate...

... she suddenly felt very cold towards the newly publicized couple. New House affiliations or not, Azure had no right breaking up a perfectly happy couple. As the distance between them broke and the silence in the entire room became even more imminent, a voice was heard from the Gryffindor table. It was then that Talia rolled her eyes, bent down to her bag and pulled out her Transfiguration book. This perfectly good lunch was not going to be wasted on some couple drama.

It's a pity that she probably wouldn't hear the end of it in the Ravenclaw Common Room later.

"Catch me, catch me, catch me, come and catch me,
I want you now,
I know you can save me, come and save me,
I need you now.
"

I'm feeling kinda hungry and shocked
I'm wearing my hogwarts uniform sans black cloak
This time is lunch time, dur

This is the story of my life:

The day had started out normally enough. However, normal was an understatement when it came to Hogwarts. Having classes daily was probably the only normal thing about Hogwarts as far as schooling went. And even the classes were unpredictable. It wasn't the teachers or the material that made it that way. It was the kids. You never knew what to expect from the students. Selena noticed many things, especially in class when she was bored. And yet, she hadn't expected anything like this to happen. She didn't normally notice Slytherins, except for when they did something to warrant it. For example, when they had made Sean Alcott's girlfriend's cauldron explode. It was obvious who had done it, especially with them all snickering like that. But Selena had noticed Millie Azure's reaction afterward, especially when she left the room. It made her curious. Ever since Gryffindor's win against Slytherin, Millie had been sick and it was her first time back in Potions that day. Selena wasn't usually one to care about what happened to Slytherins, especially Millie Azure. Millie had never been exactly pleasant to her in daily life or during Quidditch games so she had no reason to care. But something about how she had acted made Selena curious. She had watched with quizzical eyes as Millie left, trying to recognize the look on her face. She took too long and her staring at the empty doorway had caused her potions partner to sigh in annoyance and wave a hand in front of her face. "Hellooo. Earth to Selena. We have to finish the potion now!"

Selena wasn't surprised when she didn't see Azure in any other classes. After an exit like that, she was likely to spend her time someplace alone. She hadn't dwelt on it though. She was curious, of course. Millie had been acting strange for weeks, but she had only really noticed it after the Quidditch game. And besides, there were more things to do than to think on the feelings of a girl she didn't even like. Besides, it was probably gas or indigestion or something. McGonagall had said that she was sick anyway when she inquired. It was probably a relapse.

That's the theory Selena had found easiest to believe and went on with her life, for the few short hours before lunch. It was easy to, with Trelawney picking at her constantly in class, asking her if she 'sensed it too.' She had just nodded absentmindedly and hid her face with a curtain of her hair, acting like she was very interested in what she was reading. For a Seer, she wasn't much interested in Divination, but her mother and grandmere had insisted upon her taking it in her seventh year. It was such a pain in the ass, that class. She was content to chuck her tea leaves rather than to read them. And she was much happier to get out of that class for lunch. So, she smiled as she walked to the Great Hall for lunch, glad to be out of the stifling, perfume soaked classroom. You could only handle incense in such intensity for so long. The scent Trelawney picked left a strange taste in her mouth as well. Figures, the woman just had to pick something gaudy and thick, she couldn't just pick lavender or cinnamon like everyone else. Then again, even if she did, she would probably use them so much that Selena would find herself sick of the scents and get the same funky taste in her mouth. "I need to eat..." She murmured, making a face at the odd taste in her mouth as she entered the Great Hall.

She sat down quickly at the Gryffindor table, smiling at her friends in greeting. Most of them weren't in Divination anymore. Hermione had left during third year and never come back. Harry and Ron had left after fifth year. So did Neville and others in her house, excluding Pavarti and Lavender. They were both still so fixated on the subject even though they were both terrible at it. It was annoying and amusing at the same time. She looked over to where the two girls sat, their mouths running at a mile a minute, as they gabbed excitedly to each other about whatever it was they were talking about. The sounds of one hundred plus students talking at once drowned them out. She wasn't even sure if she would be able to hear what she said if she spoke. So, instead, she decided to grab a piece of bread and munch on it. Ah, better already.

As she was chewing, Selena's eyes flicked upward, by chance catching a glimpse of Millie Azure walking toward... The Ravenclaw table? Selena's head tilted as she chewed and watched, confusion clear in her expression. Shock only exploded forward as she watched a Slytherin kiss a Gryffindor. She swallowed the lump of bread in her mouth and blinked rapidly, trying to process what she was seeing. She didn't get it. It was like she was in the Twilight Zone. She wasn't opposed to it, really. She didn't have prejudices against the Slytherins because they were Slytherins. She wasn't into that whole House vs. House thing. But, certain Slytherins were and one of them just so happened to be kissing a Gryffindor. "Well, that's new." She said, sounding remarkably calm for having such a shocked look on her face. She heard Eva shout out something encouraging to Millie and the shock melted from her face in an instant as it broke into a smile. "Wooo!" She called out, cupping her hands around her mouth to emphasize the sound. There was a new respect for Millie growing in her. She had the guts to do something that was unheard of. If Gryffindors could appreciate anything, it was a rebel. But, whatever bit of normalcy that had crept into the halls of Hogwarts was flung -quite violently- out the window by this event. So much for monotony.

Breakfast time, and Brid was no more hungry than she had been in the last couple of weeks. There was no desire for any of the food that appeared every meal on the Slytherin's table, no matter how delicious they looked or smelled. Even her favourites were turned down, something that greatly surprised her friends. For although Brid was slim as slim can be, she could eat like a growing teenage boy, and she usually did.

Whether it be because of the anger that was constantly bubbling inside of her now, or the complete and utter void that never seemed to get filled, the Slytherin refused to fill the gap up with food, for it seemed the cowardly thing to do. No, she would suffer because she probably deserved to suffer, or at least that's what the rest of the Slytherin's would tell her. So, she would bite her tongue and keep going like she always had, but food was just not an option. Naturally, a few measly bites went down every day, for if they didn't, she would waste away to nothingness.

Sitting at the Slytherin table, Brid paid no attention to anything that was going on around her. The usual loud hubbub of noise was still there, everything was going normal, but Brid heard and saw nothing, picking at the food on her plate as if the pieces were cockroaches. It certainly made her as sick to look at the food as it would the disgusting creatures.

Stab! A piece of hashbrown was on her fork, and she twirled it around lazily trying to bring up the courage to pop it into her mouth. What was the point in eating and growing stronger every day, when all she wanted to do was fade away like one of the castle ghosts and melt into the walls? Ok, so maybe she was being a little overdramatic, and probably she was acting like a self-indulged brat, but wasn't that the Slytherin everyone knew from the past? Why shouldn't she come back? Because truth be told, Brid would prefer to be the new Brid, if she still had reason to be.

And that's when she noticed that the whole place had gone silent. Her eyes lifted from her twirling fork, trying to locate the reason for so many babbling students to shut up all at once. Then someone from the Gryffindor table piped up. Way to go, Azure! Azure? Millie? What had the girl done now?

Finally, Brid's eyes came to rest upon the center of all the attention, and she gasped so loudly that it echoed throughout the great hall. Her fork went clambering down onto her plate as she stared, shocked into silence, before calling out her friend's name in utter disbelief. "MILLIE!?"

Unlike Raven, Brid had not been priveed to the information concerning Millie & Sean. She didn't feel left out of the matter, for she knew that Raven was Millie's closest and dearest friend, but someone could have warned her so that the shock wouldn't knock her out of her seat. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the scene for a moment, then did so very quickly.

Sadly enough, the fact that Millie was kissing a Gryffindork wasn't the thing that was bothering her the most, though it still struck a bad chord inside of her. No, it was the fact that Millie had someone to kiss, no matter who it be. God, she was loosing her mind!

(OoC: Okay, guys, don’t hate me for only jumping in now. I knew about this plot earlier, but I didn’t know that Millie and Jason had already started role-playing. I was only told about this yesterday! So, as per Millie’s request, I am now putting in my character’s reaction to all this. Basically, Millie has given me the go ahead to ignore the part of Jason’s post where Maddie simply runs off without saying a word, lol.)

Maddie had been floating on a cloud for about two weeks now. She just couldn’t help herself. There was a certain Gryffindor boy who had caught her attention a month ago and she hadn’t been able to get him out of her head. She’d seen him around a fair few times and, of course, she’d taken note of him in Potions class. It was impossible to not notice him. Sean was just one of those mischievous sorts. The type that does whatever they can to get a rise out of classmates and make them laugh. That was just the sort of person he was. Despite having seen him around, Maddie only began fancying him recently.

It wasn’t difficult to fancy him. His class clown behaviour made Maddie smile. She loved his silly sense of humour. He was also very handsome. Plus, the many hours of Quidditch he no doubt played as a result of being on the Gryffindor team certainly didn’t hurt when it came to his body. Sean was easy on the eyes. Sure, that was all Maddie knew about him, but that wasn’t a bad thing. She intended on getting to know him.

That was where all her attempts at getting Sean to notice her came in. Maddie never had a difficult time doing this with other boys. Being 1/8 Veela certainly helped her out. It gave her that indescribable and undeniably desirable quality that got her whoever she wanted. Yet, she never seemed to be successful. He always declined, very politely, every time she asked him to go to Hogsmeade together or go on any sort of date. This was a new experience for Maddie. In a way, it sort of made her want him more. It wasn’t in an aggressive sort of manner. It merely intrigued her, considering guys never said no to her, and made Sean special in a strange way. It made Maddie need to get to know him, to understand him.

What does this all have to do with her recent ‘floating on a cloud’ sensation? Well, two weeks ago, Sean head actually approached her. After that, they began seeing each other very regularly. As she got to know him better, Maddie became more and more glad that she’d persued him in the first place. She liked him more with each passing day. He was a sweet heart and very considerate. Always the gentleman. It wasn’t love, but it was certainly a satisfying relationship. The most satisfying she’d had in a long time, actually.

Despite how happy she was, things never seemed to feel one hundred percent right. There was always this unnerved little voice in the back of her mind. Well, it was more of a feeling than a voice. It didn’t indicate anything in particular. It only prevented her from feeling entirely at ease. Maddie spent more time than she'd care to admit trying to figure out what exactly she wasn’t feeling at ease about, but she couldn’t pinpoint it. It was always there.

Her feeling worsened today of all days. After the incident in Potions when the contents of her cauldron had exploded all over her, a normal person would dismiss such feelings, suggesting that it was merely one of those sensations you get before something bad happens. That wasn’t it, though, because as she stood there covered in gunk, she didn’t feel any relief from her uneasiness. Though, Sean did manage to make the uneasiness subside for a moment when he called her beautiful despite being covered in slime. She gave a tiny smile, the kind that is used to suppress a wide grin, as Sean cleaned her up. Maddie was well capable of doing it herself, being the clever Ravenclaw that she was, but she let Sean help her out. It seemed to please him. Once he had finished, she kissed him lightly on the lips and smiled up at him.

Almost immediately after she pulled away, Sean seemed to look away from her towards Millie Azure, a Slytherin girl she knew of through her friend Raven, but had never formally met, as she hurried from the dungeons. Suddenly, a look that seemed somewhat like guilt crossed Sean’s face. Maddie’s smile vanished and was replaced by a frown. She couldn’t understand why, but the uneasiness within her worsened even more at that moment.

“Why do you keep staring after her?” Maddie asked, having reached up for Sean’s cheek and gently turned his face to look at her.

Sean answered her, but Maddie wasn’t fully convinced. Not at that moment, at least. She thought about his words, though, and eventually decided it was best to trust him. Doubting him this early on in the relationship was a bad sign. Besides, he seemed sincere enough.

Once class had ended, Maddie stood, as did Sean, and gently grabbed onto his hand as she always did. Accompanied by Sean’s friends, the pair made their way to the Great Hall. They took their time and Maddie was pleased. It meant that she got to spend time with Sean for a few minutes longer before he had to join his table and leave her at hers.

As they all stood together, chatting next to the Ravenclaw table, Maddie suddenly heard someone not in the group say Sean’s name. She turned slowly, much the way Sean did, and looked at who had spoken to him. Her forehead wrinkled as a confused look made its way to Maddie’s face. It was most evident in her large almond shaped brown eyes. Not only was it a Slytherin, but it was none other than the girl Maddie had caught Sean staring at only twenty minutes earlier, Millie Azure. As far as Maddie was aware, Sean didn’t hang around Slytherins at all, much less the Slytherin Princess herself. What was going on here?

Before Maddie could ponder this too much, the unthinkable happened. Millie Azure leaned in and kissed Sean. Millie Azure kissed her boyfriend. Maddie stood there, unable to speak, for what seemed like ages. She couldn’t do anything aside from blink. Her eyelashes fluttered quickly in disbelief as if trying to remove what she’d just seen from her mind. Frozen in place, Maddie listened to the exchange of words between the pair.

Their conversation was in no more than whispers, but Maddie caught every word. Sean loved Millie. He loved her. ’What about me?’ Maddie asked herself. It wasn’t a selfish type of question. It was more of an inquiry to herself about what his meant for her. What role did Maddie play in all of this? Did she just get used? Maddie wasn’t entirely sure of all the details and couldn’t make out whether Sean had just cheated on her or not, but she understood enough. From what she gathered, there was something going on between Millie and Sean, something which he neglected to tell her, and Millie hadn’t wanted to admit it. Now Millie was ready to and, as made clear my Sean’s confession of love for Millie, Maddie was now about to be cast aside.

Maddie wasn’t angry. She was just hurt. Okay, well, maybe she was a little angry, but that portion of her was minute and it wasn’t enough to cause any sort of scene. All she wanted was to erase all this from her mind and get out of here.

As they all stood there not speaking, Maddie finally took notice of the fact that the entire Great Hall had gone silent. That could only have meant one thing. It meant the entire student body had seen. Fantastic! As if being surrounded by their friends when this happened wasn’t humiliation enough. Suddenly, from somewhere around the area of the Gryffindor table, a voice broke the silence of the Great Hall. “Way to go, Azure!” the voice called. At the sound, Maddie instantly looked over towards the sea of gray, red, and gold that made up the Gryffindor table. She didn’t know who the voice belonged to, but she didn’t really care. That was inappropriate. You just don’t cheer on someone as they destroy another person’s relationship. This was soon followed by a loud “Wooo!”, also from the Gryffindor table. Awesome. Did all Gryffindors have it out for her now, or something?

Unable to tolerate this public humiliation anymore, Maddie knew she had to get out of her. She had to go anywhere. Just go. She would get her piece in before she did, though.

“I don’t know what happened between you two,” Maddie began, her voice quiet and filled with a hurt that she didn’t successfully mask, “But I’ve put together enough pieces to say this... Azure, you had your chance and you messed up. It is obvious that Sean and I were” she paused a moment to add emphasis to her use of the past tense, “together. You should have owned up to your mistake and lived with your decisions. You choose them after all. You had no right to do this. You could have done this privately, you selfish little snake, and saved me the humiliation. Or did you want to humiliate me as a bonus for getting what you so easily let go?”

Without giving Millie the chance to respond, Maddie turned to Sean.

“And you... I never expected this at all, but at the very least you could have waited to discuss this with her later instead of confessing your undying love for her right in front of me,” she said, “A little bit of consideration, Sean, just a little bit of consideration. That is all I would have asked.

Once again choosing to not wait for a response, Maddie turned and headed for the doors that lead out of the Great Hall. She could feel everyone’s eyes on her as she made her exit. It was so quiet that the only thing that could be heard was the echo of Maddie’s steps on the stone floor. She’d never been so humiliated in all her life. Tears even began to well up in her eyes, but she didn’t dare let them fall. It was a difficult task considering the walk from her table to the giant Great Hall doors never seemed longer.

[[ Millie's powers of persuasion made me post.]]

Jay White. A charming young man from an ancient family. As far as he was concerned, today was just like any day. He got up, he dressed in his normal manner, with a pair of slacks and a white button-up shirt, with his Hogwarts robes on top. He had showered, shaved, and gone down to breakfast, then classes. Potions and double Transfiguration were first, followed by Care of Magical Creatures and Charms after lunch.

He had three brothers and a sister, as well as several generations of wizards and witches from both sides of the family. Jay knew what he wanted to get into -- law -- and, as most of the classes offered in Hogwarts did little to farther his law education, he took a slew of classes after his interest.

Currently, he was finishing up transfiguration. Animal transfiguration was on the menu today, and they had to transfigure a desk into a pig, then the pig into a cow. As transfiguration was one of his better subjects, he had completed both the tasks, and was sitting back in his chair, waiting for the class to end, his desk-then-pig-then-cow was a desk again, and his schoolbag was resting on top.

Now, Jay. He could be considered a handsome man. It ran in his family, really, and he was no exception. His dark brown hair was as it always was: unruly. No matter what he did, that's just what it was. He kept it fairly short – two, three inches at the very most – and, due to the fact that it misbehaved no matter what, he didn't bother with it past running his fingers through the dark locks a few times after he got out of the shower. And occasionally during the day.

He had a long, rectangular face, deep set gray eyes, and, if you give him what seemed like a few hours, a nearly-permanent five-o'-clock shadow. Well, gray was depending on the light and his moods, really, but, at the moment, it was indeed a stormy gray. A very manly face, some said, but as far as his mother's side of the family was concerned, it was a very Cromwell face – in contrast to, as they oft told him, his four siblings, all of whom took more after the White half.

The bell rang, and he was the first out of the door, having completed his task early. Jay strode into the Great Hall, settling himself down at his table and helping himself to some lunch. There was an unusual amount of commotion in the Great Hall, a bit more than usual -- so much so, in fact, that even Jay, who normally drifted into his thoughts almost as soon as he sat down, noticed.

Gray eyes looked up and around. There was a group of people gathered around at the end of one of the tables... Turning to the girl next to him, he queried as to the occasion.

"Oh, Miss Slytherin--" The girl's lip upturned at the word. "Just kissed a Gryffindor." She turned back to her own food.

Jay raised an eyebrow, gazing upon the crowd with a bit more interest. It was clear enough as to who "Miss Slytherin" was. While most Slytherins were haughty, there was only one that stood out so far above the rest that could have been implied: Miss Millie Azure. As for the Gryffindor... Jay would bet his broomstick that it was the ever popular Sean Alcott, whom a lot of girls were interested in. Miss Azure included, apparently.

Curious. Real curious. The "Slytherin Princess" -- now, that phase Jay had to snort at -- was (Jay could already imagine the reactions of the Slytherins, coming from a pure-blooded family himself) betraying her kind by infatuating with a Gryffindor. Now that was something one didn't see every day... Good for inter-Hogwarts relations, but probably not so good for the Slytherin reputation. He wouldn't fancy being Miss Azure at the moment, that much was for sure.

He, too, turned back to his food. Exciting as it was, he had studies to attend to -- NEWTs were coming up, and that was something he planned on taking quite seriously, and a little drama was hardly going to stop him from getting as many NEWTs as could possibly be attained.

I can be whatever you want;
all you have to do is ask me quite sweetly...

Oh, the joys of it all. The school had been a rather dullened experience, as of late. The classes droned about, passing as slowly as they dared to test the young Silas Edington, the students milled about, flitting through their days as carefully as he did, and through it all, the world could peacefully say that it hadn't changed. Well, the world hadn't changed, but those within had their own secret stories to tell. It was something that Silas was now trying to keep an ear out for. Just...something. Anything, really. If he could somehow worm his way into involvement to spice up the variety that Hogwarts was currently offering, then he would.

Up until the point, however, he and the brother James Knightly had been cohorts in their unending monotony. It had gotten so bad that Silas actually began to pay closer attention to his studies, and the pair of them would hold up in the library for hours just so they had an excuse to skip out on History of Magic. While most seventh years had dropped it, by now, James took the class so that he and Silas could match their schedules to some degree, and Silas took it for the simplicity and for the chance to sleep for whenever the Hufflepuffs weren't paired together with the Ravenclaws for the day.

Still, one could say that Silas had remained academically involved, which was a surprised to many of his professors. Potions was always a top priority, though. It at least challenged the mind without having someone as prunish and over-bearing as his Transfiguration professor. At any rate, it wasn't what he was looking for, and Remmy had been so far reduced as to anticipating when he'd have to smooth out the wrinkles Silas would soon create in someone's social or romantic life.

They would meet up after classes, as they had just now done, and they'd head off for the Great Hall for some food. At times, they would sit at the Ravenclaw table. Silas rather enjoyed the mix of company as he'd grown rather accustomed to Remmy's type. However, today was a Hufflepuff day, and James was forced to tag along. It was a rather good thing, as fate would have it. The two entered the Great Hall a little later than some, having missed the initial mass that usually piled through the double doors. Silas sat himself around many of the usual faces, having gotten a good amount of greeting on the way their. He enjoyed the attention. He always had, really. It was a wonder for the esteem of a young man to be somewhat prominent in a station such as a house of Hogwarts.

The plates filled with food and, in their own patience, Remmy and Silas waited for their turn for which the bowls and plates would be passed around to them. The Hufflepuff, who had started in conversation with one of his more favorited faces from the female portion of his class, had missed the signs entirely. Thankfully, however, Remmy was more preceptive as to warn him to something. There was movement from the Slytherin side, and a slight buzz of murmurs. As Silas looked up, a few were pointing towards a certain Millie Azure, with whom Silas was quite farmiliar with.

She was standing in front of a Gryffindor with whom Silas had little recognition of. He must not have been important, or something. There was a girl, as well who stood slightly back and off a ways. Silas simply supposed that she wanted to be out of the way for whatever Millie had planned. Emily Azure wasn't exactly known to be pleasent with the House of the Brave.

"Poor bloke probably got the wrong end of that last Quidditch match..." Remmy mused, taking his fork in hand as he started to play with his food slightly. His eyes still never left the three standing between the tables, though.

"No doubt. I know I've never looked forward to another meeting with her. In my opinion, once you miss out, you miss out." Silas hummed, likewise picking at his food.

"Oh, yeah! That's right, you tried to get with her, didn't you?" Remmy recollected off-handedly.

"I wouldn't call it that. I just tried to show her that there wasn't any reason as to why she couldn't show a little interest in a guy like me."

"You mean in a Hufflepuff, right?"

"Eeeyup..." Silas took a bite of his roll and set it off to the side.

Silas's eyes fell to his plate, wishing to not have to respond his interests in whatever drama the Slytherin girl wanted to cook up, this time. Sure, the castle had been quite sleepy, latey, but that wasn't to say that the first thing needed was another house-to-house bitch-fest.

"I'd say she just needs to get over herself. He's just another guy like any one of us and--"

"Silas..." Remmy interrupted.

"Hold on, I was just saying that it's not like any one of us want to be the center of that kind of attention, you know. Things like that just--" Silas spoke while he still busied himself with his plate.

"Silas." Remmy tried again, this time more firm.

"What? Honestly, man, just spit it--" Remmy's hand reached over, grabbing under his jawline and jerking his head up to look at the two, again. "...out..."

Jame's jaw was dropped, his expression blank with surprise. Silas merely quirked an eyebrow, shrugging off Remmy's hand as he leaned foward on the table, propping up an elbow for support. "Well, I'll be damned." Silas chuckled.

Millie Azure had done what Silas would've never thought fathomable for her. For one, she took a serious interest in someone other than a git like Malfoy, but he was for certain that, once that whole deal had ended, that she would stick to a guy close to her type. At least she'd feel more at home with that type. Still, this was hardly a choice he'd have seen coming. A Gryffindor nobody. Kudos for the originality.

The Ravenclaw, whom Silas could only preceive to be a now extremely pissed off girlfriend...er...ex-girlfriend, was now making her way out of the Great Hall. Silas smiled inwardly. This wasn't about her. It wasn't about some Ravenclaw who got caught in the emotional cross-fire. This was Millie's big transformation; one that he'd tried to show her earlier but was ill-received. While the rest of the Hall sat in shock, a few yelling out a few congratulations here and there, Silas wanted to do one better.

He stood, gaining the attention of most everyone at his table. Slowly, Silas put his hands together in a loud clap. He clapped again, slowly, and then again. The pace began to increase and Remmy soon stood with him. The two of them clapped together, increasing the pace as others at the Hufflepuff table stood, joining their hands in approval. Some cheered, letting out loud whistles and hooting. Others clapped, keeping their contented opinions to themselves.

"Good job, girl..." Silas said his quiet praise.
