Though she is not the only rich, pureblood Slytherin, Raven isn’t just another face in the crowd. On the contrary, this petite girl, standing at only 5’4, has the ability to catch the attention of any passer-by. She has a slim build and delicate bone structure, making her appear much more fragile and vulnerable than she really is, which often make her many male admirers overprotective of her.
Raven’s face, with such a beautiful porcelain complexion, is framed by soft midnight black hair which cascades down to her waist. Depending on the day, and Raven’s mood, her hair will either be seriously pin straight, styled in flirtatious waves, or pulled back in a comfortably messy ponytail. Sometimes, when she is bored, she’ll even mess around with beauty potions and charm exciting, unnatural highlights into her hair such as purple or even blue. Whatever the case, Raven always makes sure she looks her best. She takes great pride in her appearance, so why waste such a gift of beauty?
Features that she has no control over, such as her high cheek bones and small, button nose, are certainly not unfortunate. The best of these features are Raven’s large, almond eyes. They are a brilliant blue and have an almost purple ring of colour at the very edge. Framed by long, thick lashes, her eyes seem bigger and brighter than they are. With a single look, her hypnotizing eyes have the ability to do anything from seducing anyone she chooses to instilling the worst, most hellish fear anyone could ever experience.
The last of Raven’s most prominent features are her lips. They are full, but not to an abnormal proportion, and have a natural rosy colour. Though often turned down, creating a malicious and intimidating expression, her lips have the ability to melt the coldest of hearts when she chooses to smile, revealing pearly white teeth. If Raven wants, she can smile sweetly at anyone and get whatever she wants, and she knows it. With such power comes great responsibility, but, in her opinion, who cares! As far as she is concerned, Raven can use, and abuse, the manipulative ability of her beauty however she wishes.
Personality Raven is a very sweet girl; at least, to those she likes. The only time she is ever sweet to people she dislikes is when it comes to her professors. To them, she is can be described as a model student. Some people call her a suck up; a teacher's pet, if you will, but she is neither. Raven is just respectful and, when she chooses to do her work, it is always top quality. On top of that, she is very bright which her peers often find confusing because she never studies... Besides the two months before the end of sixth year, of course. Professors aside, she is extremely kind, considerate and protective of her friends. They are very important to her; however, anyone outside of her immediate circle of friends isn't lucky enough to see or appreciate the kind side of her. To all those outside her group of friends, she is rather nasty and has a fairly short temper. She is disrespectful in a very subtle wa and will never resort to public feuds unless someone pushes her buttons just right. From her, public feuds are very rare, but if one were to occur, it is best to not be on the wrong end of her wand. Raven's knowledge of dark spells is extensive and she will not hesitate to use them. Once she is set on inflicting pain on another, she will not rest until she feels they have gotten what they deserve. Lastly, like all good Slytherins, Raven is slightly cocky and quite confident, perhaps too much so. Raven Winters is a Slytherin through and through...
Personal History Raven is fairly new to Hogwarts. She arrived approximately two months before the end of the 6th year. After a classless week spent wandering the castle, familiarizing herself with the many staircases; corridors; and passages, she was taken to the Headmaster's office to be sorted. After being placed on her head for no more than a few seconds, the Sorting Hat exclaimed, 'Slytherin'. The lack of hesitation in her placement pointed to Slytherin being the only house for her. The hat was right! She got along splendidly with every student she encountered in that house; however, she didn't have the opportunity to make many friends. Being tossed into a new school so close to the end of the year is difficult so she spent most of her time studying which was fairly out of character for her. She had never been very studious. She was extremely smart, but not studious at all. Though, she was able to make one friend in between her long hours of studying. During her first day in the Slytherin common room, she met Millie Azure. They hit it off right from the start and had been best friends every since. It seems as if nothing could ever come between them. Raven felt very close to Millie and found her to be one of the two completely trustworthy people at Hogwarts.
In her spare time, she enjoys a good game of Quidditch. She likes watching, but her passion is playing the game. She has played since she was 8 years old and has become both a brilliant seeker and keeper. For her house team, she is the keeper. Raven also enjoys writing music and playing her guitar. Her favourite band is the Weird Sisters. Reading is another one of her favourite things to do. She mostly reads old Dark Arts books from her family’s private collection. Sometimes she will teach herself some of the things she reads about, but often times she takes ideas from the books and makes her own spells. There are very few things she dislikes. The main thing is muggles. There is only one exception to this. One of her aunts married a muggle and all their children turned out to be squibs. They all have chosen to live a non-magical lifestyle. They were disowned by the family, but Raven loved them all. They were her favourite relatives. She found them the most interesting compared to the uptight witches and wizards in the family. She'd even taken to wearing muggle clothing that her cousins had introduced her to. Raven found them much more comfortable. Besides that, Raven couldn't stand muggles.
Outside of school, Raven loves to wear unique and comfortable clothes. You’ll usually see her wearing loose black pants that are usually accompanied by some sort of studded belt. As for tops she usually sticks to plain green, silver, black or grey long or short sleeve shirts. Most of her clothes she makes herself. Not only does she enjoy it, but even though she likes muggle clothing she greatly dislikes having to be around them to do her shopping. On her feet she chooses to wear black vans or black converse high tops.To top it all off she’ll usually have her trademark smokey eye shadow and black eyeliner around her eyes making her already stunning blue eyes stand out even more. Only on special occasions does she wear witches robes. The special occasions are holidays or whenever her mother is home. Her mother can't stand Raven's muggle clothing. Whenever she wears robes she usually sticks to her Slytherin colours of green, black and silver.
Family Background Victoria Winters became a mother while she was still in Hogwarts. The father was unknown. The only thing Raven knew about her father was that he was a pureblood making her one too. (This was the only thing known because her mother refused to associate with muggleborns or halfbloods) Nine months later, Raven was born. After Victoria Winters left Hogwarts she did not work because they were able to live a wonderful life on the fortune which her great-great-grandfather had created. Three years after leaving Hogwarts, Victoria met a man named Marcus Oddball. They married after 5 months of knowing eachother. After three months of marriage, the now pregnant Victoria and Marcus divorced. Another nine months later Andrew was born.
Raven had a fairly decent childhood. It wasn’t as if she was deprived or anything. She had everything a young witch could want. A large home, infinite galleons at her disposal and the ability to do whatever she pleased. Her mother wasn’t home often. She was usually out at some sort of gathering with her friends. It didn’t bother Raven all that much, but since her mother was never home and she had never known her father there was never anyone around to show discipline. Therefore, Andrew and Raven were never told what to and not to do. The only ones every home were the house elves and they couldn't boss the two around. Because of this the two children became rather wild and rebellious.
Now a day, their mother still isn't around much. She is always attending parties and balls like she used to. It still doesn't bother Andrew and Raven. They have learned to depend on no one except each other. They are extremely close like they have always been. During the summer the two are always together. They spend most of their time out and about visiting friends and going to parties of their own. Currently, Raven lives in a large manor just outside London.
Roleplay Example Raven Winters, a seventh year Slytherin, shifted in her bed. The sun streamed in from a crack in the drapes that covered her windows. It fell across her face right over her eyes framing them in a ray of light that made her pale face glow. She turned over on her bed trying to go back to sleep the last thing she wanted today was an early wake up call. She hadn't gotten to sleep until 2:00 am last night because she had been so enthralled in her novel.
She slowly got out of bed and stretched. Her hair fell across her face and she tried to sweep it away, but it just fell back over her eyes. She shook her head one last time trying to make her hair obey but it refused to stay away. She picked up the brush she kept on her bedside table. She brushed out her waist length black hair. The sun hit it and made it shine with a raven brilliance. The tangles were unknotted and her hair fell in a gentle cascade down her back. She pulled it up and twisted it into a lose bun at the back of her head with the tips sticking out in all sorts of directions.
She scanned the other beds in her dorm room as her tongue played with her lip ring out of habit. None of the other girls seemed to be awake but all of their bed hangings were drawn tightly around their beds to keep the sun out. She opened the emerald hangings a little wider to get out of the bed. Her feet touched the ice-cold stone floor and she cringed at the feel of it under her bare feet she swung her legs back up onto the bed and rooted around in her trunk for her slippers. She took them out, dropped the black slippers with blue edging on the floor and slipped them on. She then walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead.
When she looked in the mirror, she rubbed the sleep from her piercing eyes. Her eyes were the main thing she found she liked about her appearance. They were a brilliant blue and had an almost purple ring of colour at the very edge. She liked her eyes but found nothing extraordinary in them past that they had that amazing purple colour. They weren't special but she found them unique and solely her own. She stopped examining her eyes to wash her face and brush her teeth. Her face was pale which set off her black hair nicely if nothing else. Her lips were full but not to an abnormal proportion. Her nose was small and angular. And her long lashes made her eyes seem bigger and brighter than they were.
She pulled on her grey school skirt only to notice it was all wrinkled. Raven grabbed her wand, pointed it at her skirt and cast a simple spell to banish the wrinkles. She then slipped on her white collared shirt, then her school jumper and finally her Slytherin tie. A smile formed on her lips as she examined herself in the full length mirror that was in the girl’s bathroom. Before leaving the bathroom she pulled her hair out of the bun and magically straightened it. Raven grabbed her pajamas off the floor and carried them back into the dorm room. Her roommates had all already woken up and started getting ready. She dropped her pajamas in her trunk and slipped on her black shoes. Next, she grabbed her school robe, put it on and put her wand in the pocket. She paused for a moment to make sure she hadn’t forgotten anything. When she was sure she hadn’t, she grabbed her messenger bag and threw it over her shoulder before leaving the dorms and heading down to the Great Hall for breakfast.
