So yeah, this review was an attempt to give people both a reason to watch the anime or a reason not to watch the anime, I was making an attempt to add the negative aspects and positive aspects without sounding biased since I have seen ALOT of biased reviews

I wrote a good review for this anime on another forum. I will post it now because it explains everything better than I can right now.

This anime is for fans of cutesy lovey anime where everything is happy and probably the closest thing to sad is when the girls have a small misfortune or an accident that causes 5 seconds worth of sadness, the story itself is a bit more on the realistic side, though being an anime it has its unrealistic parts such as 12 sisters and 1 brother? Due to this the anime itself lacks an interesting story that people would expect to see in anime, hense its strong lack of popularity via the rest of the world.

an example of a small 'sadness'
Like when Kaho thought she broke the christmas gift all of the girls saved up to buy for their Brother. She was ecstatic to the point I thought she was going to kill herself lol. But her Brother eventually found out and rather than getting upset. He patted her on the head hugged her and then told her "it's okay we'll just go out and get it repaired".
Then she put on that bright smile we are used to seeing.

I am a big fan of anime in this particular genre. Sister Princess is also since 1999 has been one of the most popular and beloved titles in Japan, consisting of several side manga story's as well as I believe 3 games? A full anime series consisting of 26 episodes followed by an OVA, as well as several mangas I can't read until I learn more Japanese. While the OVA followed the games particular story. The original anime series was a fresh new concept.

The original series follows a guy named Wataru who, due to some apparently mix up he fails his entrance exam he has been working so hard for all his life.

Well.... god knows why but his Butler arranges for him to go to a different Highschool off in some remote island thats not really THAT far from the main land, but definately not swimming distance.

Upon arrival he meets many different cute girls. He seems to be a bit weirded out by these encounters but he more or less seems to enjoy em. I mean heck, you arrive on a mysterious island lost and clueless and are greeted by several cute girls who wouldn't? After finally figuring out where he's going to be living he heads on over to this huge house. He enters the place and see's the same four girls he saw on the island earlier. "Hello Big Brother!" Well a bit shocked by this. These girls are all his Brother and they had been anticipating his arrival and planned this day out from the very begining, they wanted their encounter with their big Brother to be perfect.

So after that episode. The next episode introduces the rest of the girls. Rinrin, Hinako, Kaho, Karen, Marie, Mamoru, Chikage, Aria, Shirayuki, Sakuya, Yotsuba(yes its the same yotsuba as my name and Signature) and lastly Haruka.

The anime as you have probably figured out by now. Is just about 12 girls who have no fatherly figure in their lives. Clinging to their brother, seeking guidence and love in their own ways. Some girls have a little more love for him than they should but..... like I said just keep an open mind though the reference is in their its not that bad. Mainly the original anime he starts off annoyed by all of his sisters. But eventually they grow on him and he makes a major personality overhaul. He becomes like a father to them and helps them as best he can whenever life gets them down.

The OVA Sister Princess RePure is based off the story of the game. He never forgot his sisters he has always been with them and always been there for them. The girls live each with their moms? Adopted moms? Its never explained they are just there. Reguardless their Father must have been quite a playboy but thats never explained either not even a small hint on where he is or what he's doing in fact.... I dont think the girls even know what the word Father means? Meh, anyways. This anime does not have any real personality overhauls, however, it's a very loveable series. The girls Brother is their for them always. They are always eager to see him, always wanting to be by his side, and looking up to him for practically everything.

There isn't much else. Its simple, but there is alot of love its very happy and positive and as I said, Sister Princess is ONLY for fans of cute/lovey anime, not for people looking for a deep story or character development. This anime carries everything I love most which is cuteness with alot of love and happyness, making it my all time favorite anime. I also hear the games are some of the best bishouji(sp?) games ever made.

Anyways I am not trying to convince people to like it, if you dont like it you dont like it. I am just trying to make what the series is about known. Judging it like its supposed to have character development and a major story is wrong. I am just trying to get people into the right mindset. And since you seem to be speaking for everyone when you say you dont like this anime I am trying to argue that point as well. Anyways I hope none of you find my rambling to be insulting, I am just speaking in defense of my favorite anime, you would all do the same.
