Title: New Anime - Spring 2006
Description: Recommendations? Post here!

Senshi (Discontinued) - April 10, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
So I thought I should get into some new series, and I can safely say that I trust most of your tastes (with the exception of some, naturally). This topic is mainly for recommendations of anime you are currently following that premiered in the first to early second quarter of 2006 (January-April).

Post the series, a quick rating (do include potential if you wish), and, if possible, a short synopsis. Feel free to link to other material regarding the series in question if it'll help.

Hey, if this goes well, we can even make a habit out of it.

:EDIT: Be legible, I'm not the CIA Decryption Department.

Well, I'm still waiting for a fansub to fansub "Makai Senki Disgaea"... Its based on a popular PS2 tactical RPG game that I love (Note the avatar is from Disgaea... WEEE!!! GO FLONNE!!!)... It just came out on April 4th in Japan on Chiba TV, so I'm guessing it would take sometime before a fansubbed version of "Makai Senki Disgaea" to come out... Here is a trailer of the anime...

I believe Sushi-Y and I would both recommend this anime very highly: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. Sushi-Y has already written much about it in "AQS' next series to fansub" thread, so I won't bother to type another summary. This is probably a not-to-miss series, like SnS. Rating would be 10/10.

Yeah, I'll look into both of those series. Disgaea is like too famous to ignore, and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is like calling my name. Thanks. Keep 'em coming, this could be a help topic for anyone looking for new series to follow.

Well, from the animes I've seen so far:

Disgaea was fun, I enjoyed it. xxxHolic was good, I suppose, not that great, but then, other than Chobits and one or two other series, I've never been the biggest fan of CLAMP. As I've said, KIBA was good, the second episode not so much. Zegapain was pretty interesting, and I liked the art. NANA was way good. Air Gear had some good music, straight out of Jet Set Radio, but a lot of people complained that it didn't follow the manga storyline to a "T." .hack//roots looks really promising. Ergo Proxy's really, really good, but the direction is pretty wonky in the first episode, but once you get further along, it gets better. Black Lagoon is way cool, stylish and the animation's slick. TOKKO's also lookin' pretty good, but I haven't watched it yet, although friends who have say it is.

Heh, I've been watching them as they come out, basically.

Ouran High School Host Club-
Only a few episodes out. Its about a middle class girl who goes to a prestigious high school with lots of upper class people, and ends up wandering into the "Ouran High School Host Club", which is where 6 guys are hosts to girls there. Very strange concept, anyways, the main girl, Haruhi breaks a very expensive vase, and in order to make up for the dept, she's forced to work as a host club member (meaning she's pretty much posing as a guy). Either way, its REALLY funny, and there's a manga release, but i dont feel that it captures the characters and makes things as humerous as its presented in the anime. And i've read the first couple books of the manga and got bored, but the anime kept me SO entertained.
