Title: The Music works of Esseph
Description: aka : Xlr8r, = Me.
Esseph - June 9, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
I've decided to post some songs i've composed here for more opinions. Sending it to known friends over msn wasn't enough for me. =P
I've made many songs, but these 3 seem to stand out more than the rest. If i get alot of good reviews, it'll inspire me to make more songs.
http://rapidshare.de/files/22589767/Esseph_-_Works.rar.htmlJust 3 songs here, be sure to read the comments I left in there.

sweet. what program do you use to synth? (i'm searching for a free music synth program, but i've had no luck so far)
i'll listen to your music in an hour or so once i finish playing RBO
Esseph - June 9, 2006 03:58 AM (GMT)
wow, first reply out of 3 forums i've posted this link to. lol.
Thanks for concidering =)
and the program i used here is FL-Studio 6 with sounds found from different sources.
Tmoo - June 9, 2006 04:07 AM (GMT)
ichidan was pretty good, i like the flute sound.
they're pretty cool. i like foreshadow the best. it sounds like it would be a theme from chrono cross.
FL-studio 6 eh? did you buy it?
Esseph - June 9, 2006 04:15 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the review! It means alot.
And if had money, yeah i'd buy it. The trial version limits me to save with certain sounds. What i did was get it from torrentspy and it came with a crack code. I feel like such a criminal. Just because i absolutely love this program..
Tmoo - June 9, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
lol. i need to search harder > <
Esseph - June 9, 2006 01:38 PM (GMT)
FL-Studio does take some getting used to, kinda like learning photoshop. There are different techniques on starting a song, or how your doing it. With my way, i tend to refrain from using copy and paste so much.
I need more opinions people! >_<
Esseph - June 9, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Wow.. do people really think i suck without even listening to one song?
~Tsukuyomi - June 9, 2006 10:23 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm going to download it now and hear for myself...
*Downloading...*
*Listening...*
Hmmm... Very interesting...
~Foreshadow~ is somewhat odd, though very soothing...
Minigame! is very enjoyable... Like the sound to it...
Ichidan is very good, though somehow it sounds like DDR's Tsurugi... Though, I like it a lot...
*Tsukuyomi gives them a big 2 thumbs up*
Now, I must get my hands on one of them... I always wanted to make my own music... I always get these random beats up in my head whenever I'm alone...
Tmoo - June 9, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
well it's kind of like how people will only listen to the top rated artists...
i'm trying to get into music composing myself, so i always lend an ear to other artists.
~Tsukuyomi - June 10, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
Hmmm... What does the demo version do??? I got a key-generator for Fruity Loop Studio 6, but I don't know what to use it for... I'm not sure if I can register...
Esseph - June 12, 2006 03:24 AM (GMT)
Thanks Tmoo and ~Tsukuyomi
Ichidan is based on three different songs, and you've got one of em.
As for FL-Studio, try opening the program, go to Help, and i think you can register the thing from there.
I just want to post some notes.
Foreshadow ~Since the End~ is the result of what im thinking after moving on from a girl I liked long ago, because I was thinking of what would happen. It was ment to be a moderate guitar song, but i've changed it and turned it into slow dramatic piano song to suit the mood I had back then. The song is about looking forward and making sure there are no regrets, hense the name Foreshadow, since the end, of our relationships.
Minigame! is just a remake of a song i found really catchy. Yep, it's from "Super Mario Brothers 3", the VS song and the Hammer Brothers Song. The song was noted from the Midi version of "Attack of the Koopa Brothers" of Paper Mario for the N64.
Ichidan. I've always wanted to make a song involving Shamisen and Shakuhachi sounds, and at the same time, make it sound cool and exciting. The beginning was somewhat like "Tsugaru" (I never wanted it to be Tsugaru..), and as the song moves along, it had notes from a famous japanese classical song, "Sakura".
The fast part is what I love the most, I've always wanted a Shamisen being played like a guitar solo! So me and my metal head friend's thought it was cool. Ichidan stood for 1st Dan, which is a rank given in Dojo's. This song was ment to be battle music, enspired by music, fighting games, and my friends who enspired me.
(Oh, and those "Yoh" sounds came from another song called, "1st Samurai" which is a Oedo Techno song from IIDX. fun.)
I hope you understand the poetry going on here. Thanks again.
Tmoo - June 12, 2006 03:29 AM (GMT)
don't know what to say to that except "cool". a lot of artists put emotion and hidden meanings to their songs, maybe i should do the same when i start.
heh maybe i like foreshadow the most because i just had a break up.
Esseph - June 12, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
heh, and have you noticed? these three songs have it's own mood =P
Foreshadow - Emotional
Minigame - Fun
Ichidan - Cool
I need a test, anyone have a genre i could do next? Im limited to guitar and that super eurobeat sound you hear... so i cant use those =(
~Tsukuyomi - June 12, 2006 03:48 AM (GMT)
Nope... Can't register for some reason... I need more information... >.<
*Listening to Ichidan in a loop*
Esseph - June 12, 2006 12:32 PM (GMT)
I got mine here.
http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/654010/F...oducers_EditionIt comes with a registry key, so that you can just double click it, and it'll register automatically.
I'd like to note that FL-Studio wont come with good sounds.. I had to find my own. Mainly from IIDX keysounded .bms (which are full of .wav's) or soundfont (.sf2) stuff throughout the internet. I dont have any good links.. but if i find something cool to use, or if your wondering which sound from come from where (from any of my songs), i'll gladly share it.

~Tsukuyomi - June 13, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Thanks... That helps a lot... Now, I wanna go make something cool... Hmmm... Got any pointers???
Tmoo - June 13, 2006 09:14 PM (GMT)
there's really no pointers for making music...just fool around until you find a beat/rythm/melody you like and add on to it.
EDIT: the rendition of the 1st stage is awsome. i think i can substitute it in for the actual midi if i convert it and change the name...
Esseph - June 13, 2006 09:15 PM (GMT)
well, i started out learning chords with piano, with one chord, i make up something from there.
My originals come out of nowhere as i hum something during something else.
If you want, you can start by remaking songs you like, and that can teach some things in music.
~Tsukuyomi - June 13, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
Hmmm... Well, I'm not that gifted in musics... Thank god, I have a little sister who knows a thing or two, like reading notes... Maybe she could help out me a bit...
*Listening to Reflection*
Very good, though the song quality is kinda, eh...
Esseph - June 13, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
What i did was load the notes from the .midi and copy and paste it onto an instrument. this is what i ment when i say FL-studio has crappy sounds. but i have to live with it until I have money for a keyboard, plus real instruments.
also, dont be confused, the song is a remake, not an original.

It wont work, Midi's are just a bunch of notes while it's sound comes directly from your computer. .mp3s are recorded sounds, and that makes a difference between .midi and .mp3
Lómion - June 13, 2006 11:04 PM (GMT)
hey, it's actually quite good :)
good work
~Tsukuyomi - June 13, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
Still need to know my way around FL... I don't even know how to repeat a beat when putting in new noises... >.<
b0mb3r - June 14, 2006 12:06 AM (GMT)
i love ichidan the best out of all. like the samurai feeling to it. i feel like some video must be made of this song or something
Esseph - June 14, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
Im glad more people are listening! Thanks.
And Tsukuyomi, what i do is highlight those notes, and copy and paste them into the next measure. There's other ways too.. but im used my my way.
~Tsukuyomi - June 14, 2006 01:15 AM (GMT)
Hmmm... I think I understand... Though, there are so many features in that thing... Must figure out everything!!!
Esseph - June 14, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
