Title: Ready to Learn (Practice)
Description: *Points to topic title* ^^

Hi all. I was pointed to make a topic in this forum, so here I am. ^^;

I was interested in taking the translator test, not to become a translator, but to see how I'd do on it. I'm taking Japanese classes, so I felt that I should do something to help apply what I'm learning and to help me grasp it. Who knows, I may help out in the future. *Don't hold your breath* :P

So, how do I go about doing this? How is the test actually laid out?

I, too am interested in being an AQS translator if you need more. I sent a PM to Sushi-Y as well but havn't gotten a response. so, what do I do to try out? or did you get such a big flood of applicants you don't need most of us?
Anyways, I'm still interested.

I'm interested too. It seems the large number of applicants had caused Sushi-Y-himesama's pm inbox to burst... Or so Tmoo says.

Well I've alraedy pm'ed sushi-y so I guess this is just me saying hi to the other wannabe translators and 1 tester ^_^

Shinikenshi - March 23, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
Do we actually have a translator test for scanlation team? Granted I'm not part of that side of AQS operations so I wouldn't know...

Barring any disagreement from Sushi-Y or the other head honchos, I can give a torture..err...mock test for the kids to try.

Well? Thoughts?

Dare I suggest, Shinikenshi - you're probably best to ask (PM) Sushi-Y if you can help her by setting them a test - and you'll probably get a faster answer that way :)
And you might mention this thread to her also - coz I know she doesn't frequent the AQS "outside world" too often lately :)

Shinikenshi - March 23, 2007 09:03 AM (GMT)
kano- Yeah, I probably should ask her about it, though I can imagine if she hasn't seen this thread yet (she does frequent the Japanese mini-forum after all) she's probably rather busy. Not saying I know what I'm doing, but since I do have manga translation experience, I think I can give them a suitable prelim test. She of course, is the ultimate arbiter in this situation. ^^;

As I am busy and it's late (2 AM...oh my!) I will give you my preliminary translator's test tomorrow. If you kids fail it, do not fret as it is just a preliminary test for me to gauge your abilities.

I'd like to take this test please. If you could PM it to me I'd be most grateful.

Shinikenshi - March 27, 2007 09:19 AM (GMT)
Tests have been sent. Check your PM inbox.

Good luck!

jeomaxxters - March 27, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
Hehe, apparently it is the same test as the one Sushi-Y gave out... I'm still up to page 7, as I only have an hour or so a day to work on it... Good luck guys!

Shinikenshi - March 27, 2007 05:42 PM (GMT)
Yeah...it is. IF in the case you never got a response, I was told to give you Sushi-Y's test. If you have it already then good. Just forward the results off to her then. ^^
