another anime adaptation from a game by minori. from the way how "Wind: A Breath of Heart" went, they better salvage their rep back up with this new series.

I know the animation should be great-since it's being animated by Shaft. The only thing that worries me is the fact that it is being directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, who did PPD, Negima!?, and Tsukuyomi Moonphase,(meaning, he's more of a comedy-driven director.) However, if the series is just like the prologue, it should be a great series.

Well, I loved the promo video, especially that song which was played with it. I'm looking forward to ef - and I do distinctly remember the game being discussed on IRC... Nothing more comes to mind on that topic.

sorry for the bump, but i was surprised when AQS suddenly decided to sub this anime, any special reason? or was it just a random pick?

When we were discussing fall series, we were originally thinking about Clannad TV, but then we noticed that too many groups were subbing it, plus a lot of us were already impressed by the look of ef. I've been playing the PC game and I think I know a decent amount of the story for Miyako and Hiro so far. If this turns out like Wind - A Breath of Heart in how they deal with the conflicts in romance, I think this will turn out to be a great series.

If you do get a chance to play the PC game, it looks very stunning with the artwork. And the storytelling style is unique in that part of it comes from Yuko Amamiya, the very beautiful girl who you meet in the church on X-mas Eve. Note that ef - a fairy tale of the two which this is based off of comes in two games, the first being ef - the first tale, and the second tale which hasn't been released in Japan yet. In fact, I believe it's due out around December of this year.

1) WTF IS GOING ON IN THAT GAD AER#QW EPISODE?!?!?!
2) ... Hot chick (well, almost every chick in there is XD)... Not to mention, I am very bad at remembering names.

I agree. Not watching this anime because shaft made it is really not giving it a chance. The animation is big on effects, but not plain silly. The characters are interesting, have depth and are sensitively portrayed. The story also does not just feel like another rehash of every other successful story already told.

So true. The characters are very, well deep. They have so much history and thought behind their skin. I love Renjo. He's such a nice character design for his personally as the prince who has to save the princess sort of character.

I can't wait to see how this anime will end. I just hope it won't turn in a direction like School Days...O.O;

Yeah it was kinda painful to watch the Chihiro story unfold :(

I just caught up by watching eps 7-9 last night...

WOW! Insane EPS! I mean, I felt so sympathetic towards Kei and thought that Miyako was just a meddler who would ruin her relationship with Hiro.

NOW however,

Poor Miyako is the one who's innocent in all of this since she just met with Hiro and didn't intend on anything happening but naturally she fell in love with him. And the whole scene with the cell phone calls? Wow...really saddening. And Kei's "Message Deleted" scene: epic.

This anime is SO GOOD! You have to watch it!

I haven't even gotten into Renji's relations with Chihiro..oh man that's even more saddening. Imagine any one of us had a 13hour memory span? :o (Sorry if there were any spoilers here)

K the Chihiro and Renji relationship was so shocking how it turned out in episode 11! Any inputs?

Episodes 9 and 10 are up for your viewing pleasure. Don't forget people that in any 12 series show, episode 9 is usually the pivotal one for love stories ;)

Indeed. I'm not a fan really of these type of series, but I must admit that the pacing really does keep you interested. Certainly hope something like this gets picked up sometime in the future for localization.
