We know that each of the pets of Hinata represent a god of direction.
Kuro the cat is Byakko (west), Shippo the bird is the Suzaku (south), Leon the chameleon is the Seiryuu (east) and Tama-chan is the Genbu (north).
What is commonly forgotten is that there is the center. (Representing either China, The yellow dragon or the yellow emperor)
Now what has a panda got to do with the Chinese dragon?!
The alternative emblem China uses to appear friendly than fearsome is the panda. (Yes they also realise the power of cute which explains their panda diplomacy.)
Also each of the 4 gods is associated with an element.
Byakko is metal, Suzaku is fire, Seiryuu is wood, Genbu is water.
But there is a fifth element in the Chinese elements which is associated with the center.
That element is earth.
What heck does all these things have to do with Sara you say?
Suffice to say Ken Akamatsu has skillfully hidden the center of the four gods of Hinata sou.
Sara despite being an American has always been associated with China.
1. Sara practices Jeet Kune Do, which the famous Bruce Lee developed.
2. Sara's most embarassing secret the Panda mark at her left butt cheek. (Alternative to the Chinese yellow dragon.)
3. Sara wears Chinese buns and Chinese dresses (Cheong-sam, at the start of the Kanako arc and at the wedding.)
4. Finally Sara's parents are archeologists. Archeology is always associated with dirt or in this case earth , the fifth element.
Aw...our little Sara is a panda~
Nice research. I didn't know any of that.

Well Sara tries to keep secret from everyone that's why she's never ever naked in the hot spring. She even keeps it secret from Seta.NSFW Sara's birthmark
Suffice to say when Keitaro found out about it he got a full taste of Sara's extradimensional capacitance ability.
LOL hammer space rears it's head once again. Though to be honest dispite the panda shaped birthmark I kinda though of her as a dragon.
The maybe Naru or Motoko better fit that. :P
So the panda is a birthmark? I always wondered about that...
