Title: Hey, is it just me?
Description: Or do posts...

windy-day - July 24, 2008 04:55 PM (GMT)
is it just me, or do posts in threads have a very slight difference in colour? like one will be white, then the next a shade darker, then the next white, in an ABABAB pattern. is that new, or have i just taken years to notice it? or are my eyes just playing tricks on me...

Esperman - July 24, 2008 05:28 PM (GMT)
I think I noticed it... (It really isn't that noticeable...)

But I think it's there to serve as a tool to count to a certain post without it looking all the same...

I mean, lets say someone told you to look at the twentieth reply on a certain page, I think the ABAB pattern helps to count without making it too hard... (Otherwise, it might be really easy to lose your place...)

But honestly, I don't think that ever happens, so I guess it's just there for looks...

BlueDo - July 24, 2008 06:37 PM (GMT)
You're right! :ph43r:

I've seen it on other forums,
But this is weird.

The distinction is so slight
The borders basically took the job of making post counts easier...

Tmoo - July 24, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
....barely...just barely. :ph43r:

T.U.M. - July 24, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
i agree....really didnt notice before =P

Keitaro - July 24, 2008 10:47 PM (GMT)
Now I just noticed it <_<

ledah - July 24, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
i just notice recently reading windy tread

Wolfii - July 25, 2008 12:15 AM (GMT)
Slowpokes

Noticed it when I was browsing the source code to make a spoiler font :x

mokoi - July 25, 2008 06:00 AM (GMT)
I noticed it but never really questioned it.

kano - July 25, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
Noticed what? :D
Hmm - that's a worry ... considering I colour pictures, I SHOULD be able to see slight colour differences easily ... meh, OK html time ...
OK here's the CSS (line spacing removed)
CODE
.post1 { font-size: 11px; background-color: #F5F8FB; padding:3px; margin-top:1px; border-top:1px solid #FFFFFF; border-left:1px solid #FFFFFF; }
.post2 { font-size: 11px; background-color: #F3F5FC; padding:3px; margin-top:1px; border-top:1px solid #FFFFFF; border-left:1px solid #FFFFFF; }

It swaps between the two.
SOOOO ... firstly, neither of them are white :P
Secondly, they are extremely close in colour (#F5F8FB; vs #F3F5FC;)

Wolfii - July 25, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
Indeed... have an example, one of following two lines should be visible (the lighter one should):

This is failed spoiler text due to the colour switching...
...and this is complete and working spoiler text.

Btw, preview part in posting interface has yet anohter shade of grey, so there they are visible both (though the darker one badly :x )

EDIT: Heh, it's very badly visible, but it is ^^;;

Tmoo - July 25, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
wolfii, those shades are so close in color, it wouldn't matter which one you used for spoilers because the visible one is impossible to read without slapping your eyeballs on the screen. anyone who protests that is a trouble-making douchebag and should be hanged. :S

AsunaNegi - July 25, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
I think I see a slight difference. As the color code shows, however, the colors are as close as they can be. Anyway, it looks like this topic has served it's purpose. Yes, they're different colors, and yes, we now notice them. You are now breathing manually, you are aware that your jaw has weight, The Final Countdown is now playing in your head.

ARolf60 - July 26, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
you people have too much time on your hands.... how did you even notice the difference?

T.U.M. - July 26, 2008 02:44 AM (GMT)
It only takes one person to notice, and then by saying that to many people, they take the time to notice

I don't even notice a difference right now, but I have in the past...

Maybe aquastar changed it recently or something...

It used to be more noticeable in the past...

T.U.M. - July 26, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
I agree!

um, it wasn't that i was looking for it...

and i've been here since feb 07 <------- and haven't noticed... (assuming there was a slight difference in the older, darker colour scheme)

i just noticed, really. that's all there is to it :P

waittttt... how can you agree if you joined when forums alrdy change skin ...

SagittaMagica - July 27, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
I did notice the differences on larger monitors (21 inch LCD) and larger resolutions but don't on 18inch CRTs...
Maybe because I can put my head closer on an LCD screen than a CRT one(gaaah~ radiation!)

QUOTE (T.U.M. @ Jul 26 2008, 12:33 PM)
I agree!

errr... I didn't really read the Rules and Faqs...
But replies like this are against them... T.U.M. I thought you where already berated by jop on things like this... I guess its just a matter of time then...

jopchan121 - July 27, 2008 10:19 AM (GMT)
And I took care of that.

Please continue.

Gen. Minion - July 29, 2008 08:12 PM (GMT)
*puts self in denile*

I don't notice a thing, not a thing. i just post and be on my way.

shaoron - July 30, 2008 12:21 AM (GMT)
it doesn't really matter to begin with...

Tmoo - July 30, 2008 01:47 AM (GMT)
this thread's still active?

ledah - July 30, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
this has become a spam tread i think , like the welcome ones

shaoron - July 30, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)
can we request a close then?

ledah - July 30, 2008 02:05 AM (GMT)
do it, before TUM comes and talk about how good he is about his grades

SagittaMagica - July 30, 2008 02:43 AM (GMT)
Speaking of T.U.M., hasnt he behaved himself a tad bit?

He now scarcely posts, he had finally refrained from annoying the Fil-Thread...
I wonder if he "feels" like that deadpool guy, who thought that we want him out of the boards.. just for asking them to moderate the things they post??

Gen. Minion - August 2, 2008 10:11 PM (GMT)
I personnally don't see anything wrong with him. he's just acting like how i was when i first came here. that was until i felt comfortable.

*still feels a little threatened :ph43r: *

Esperman - August 2, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
T.U.M. is okay with me...

I, too, did the same thing... (Except, I was just plain out annoying... That and I would post in walls of text...)

Otherwise, let's not get off-topic...

So, to re-rail the topic, did anyone notice (Ever since the board changed from its darker blue theme to the current one...) that they've gotten used to the "bright" colors of the background since the change?

At first, it was pretty bright to me, now I'm used to it...

So, how long did it take you to get used to it? (If you noticed...)

That is, unless you haven't gotten used to it yet...

windy-day - August 3, 2008 12:32 PM (GMT)
^um, it only took me about 5 days or less... i prefer it this way too :)

BlueDo - August 3, 2008 08:14 PM (GMT)
In my experience, dark colors are depressing.
Lighter colors tend to cheer me up

It has been there for the longest time. Even before the light color theme came in when it was still dark blue. It cannot be noticed by the untrained eye...

Most forum threads have this pattern so one can differentiate from one reply to the other.
