The title is rather appropriate as it actually seems like a complete movie now.

What, is it the prelude to the FFAC movie?
Coz really it's pretty obvious what happened before the movie even if you never played the games (I never played the games) and the movie has enough minor flash-backs to cover the history ... but hey if they wanna make it into a complete movie - yeah I'll watch it ... maybe download it ... and certainly buy it when it's out of DVD or BR :)

They added extra scenes in order to make Advent Children able to stand on its own as a story, not really any extra bits from FF7. There are however bits appropriated from Crisis Core.
There were three short stories in total that are set in between FF7 and AC. The anime short is just the first part and is Denzel's backstory
