Title: Needless
Description: Good vs Evil 'Powers'
kano - July 4, 2009 12:55 PM (GMT)
Another RAW ...
Well this was unexpected, and I'll add up front ...
WTF is that ED? Seriously does it have ANYTHING to do with the show at all? 3 girls kissing and stripping?!? (though the 3 of them do also appear in the OP ...)

Heavy Metal OP that reminds me of Gurren Lagann and the two 'top' characters on the good and evil side also remind me of Kamina!

Post apocalypse WWIII and people have powers due to the side effects of the apocalypse.
Pretty much an inhumanly powerful good guys vs bad guys with lots of big busted girls ... but no idea where the show is heading yet ...
Sayo's Guardian - July 4, 2009 03:43 PM (GMT)
I have decided to watch this series because I saw the ed.
It the most fetish based theme I`ve ever seen.
kano - July 5, 2009 09:21 AM (GMT)
LQ AVI sub out at Tokyo
It seems the 3 girls in the ED have names ... Setsuna, Mio and Kuchinashi ... but I'm still wondering what on earth their yuri performance has to do with the show ... lol
Edit: HQ MKV's out now also
Oops - fixed above type "ED" (not OP)
Sayo's Guardian - July 5, 2009 05:24 PM (GMT)
I just watched the first episode.
Its funny and good.
Its definately worth a look.
That priest is a shounen BADASS!!!!
kano - July 10, 2009 12:17 PM (GMT)
OK Ep 2 (no sub yet, just RAW) was a bit of a major reminder of a scene from Incredibles ...
The bit when Mr Incredible and Frozone are in the car listening to the police radio and discussing the old days and Frozone is talking about the evil guy and monologuing ... seriously, why didn't he just kill them both to start with :P
Anyway ... still no loli yuri in the show, just the 3 of them doing their yuri performance in the ED ...
Edit: OK subs are out - yeah not much more info except the very last 2 lines of the show ...
BlueDo - July 13, 2009 03:52 PM (GMT)
Just decided to try this out.
Xien was so right that I should've watched it just for the ED.
OMG... That was cliched as hell.
The character designs, the storyline, and the script... :silly:
I'll probably try a bit, and then stop.
Also tempted to see when the loli's are gonna appear... :heh:
Dammit, curiosity is making me hesitate.
Sayo's Guardian - July 13, 2009 09:11 PM (GMT)
I`ve watched the first 2 eps already and I`ve enjoyed it.
I`ll admit that the ending makes me really want to see those three girls already.
I bought this month`s issue of megami and it looks like those three girls have their own special outfits besides the school uniform.
I just found out that that the group Eien no manga translated the first 4 chapters of the manga and then dropped it.
Can someone find these 4 translated chapters.
I cant find them at mangahelpers, onemanga, mangafox or mangatraders.
kano - July 18, 2009 11:19 AM (GMT)
Ep3 - subs out - sorry all those desperate for it - but still no loli yuri in the show ... lol
kano - July 24, 2009 02:08 PM (GMT)
Well finally, for those impatiently waiting ...
The Lolis have arrived in Ep4 (no subs yet) and no Yuri either - so bad luck :)
I guess they work for the bad guys and Mio is either bait or will go over to the dark side soon enough ...
Finally watched the subs: Yep they are Riru's girls and Mio is also ("help me any passing by priest" :D)
Ep 5 is entitled "Simeon's Girls Brigade" so obviously that's the 3 girls
Not sure what Disk's allegiance is yet ...
Edit: oops - forgot to add ... yes she says it ... oni-chan - lol
Edit2: subs out ...
Edit3: updated the spoiler after finally watching the sub
Oh yeah - I should add in case anyone hasn't watched any yet and didn't realise - it is mostly a comedy - definitely not much of a serious show.
BlueDo - August 3, 2009 03:17 AM (GMT)
Mind blown
I've read some spoilers, and decided that it rather has interesting twists.
Gonna stay for the ride.

*Puts up flame shields
kano - August 3, 2009 03:48 AM (GMT)
Yeah I agree - as I mentioned in the first post - some of this show reminds me of Gurren Lagann
Even at the beginning of the OP the way they portray Cruz reminds me directly of Simon in the early shows of Gurren Lagann
Then, of course, the bad guys are "Simeon" - I wonder about that :D
Though, comparing Eve and Yoko - hmm - not very similar :P
kano - August 8, 2009 03:34 AM (GMT)
OK - those looking for the 3 girls in action - episode 6 is what you have been waiting for ...

Dero Doro Light? :P
... Arclight's interrupted transmission LOL
Well it seems there will be more than just 3 of them in future episodes ...
Hmm - they changed the ED a bit - not censored - just changed some of it.
Edit: Hmm - maybe not - not sure - it just seemed different, but I guess I haven't paid much attention to it.
Sayo's Guardian - August 10, 2009 07:43 PM (GMT)
Disc is the bast. Hands down!
Kuchinashi is great as well. her fight with Blade was simply incredible.
BlueDo - August 10, 2009 08:45 PM (GMT)
A filler episode. I think the next one will be as well.
Two more lolis to come from the OP?
Probably not for a while.
Reading even more spoilers, I'm baffled at how the show changes direction so much.

And you guys might already figure out who the final boss is.
BlueDo - September 28, 2009 01:15 AM (GMT)
Sub for ep 13 is out.
Wth... did they just waste all their budget on this episode?
I'm very sad, considering how the quality job on 6-12 have been poor.
Well, good fight and comeback.
kano - September 28, 2009 04:50 AM (GMT)
Actually I kept thinking the final boss would be Cruz's sister for some unknown reason.
But since I haven't seen EP 13 yet ... all I can say is: I'll find out soon enough :)
(and I have for quite a while wondered who the green haired girl in the ED is)
Off to dl ...
kano - September 28, 2009 11:56 PM (GMT)
WTF? It has 24 episodes - it's not finished!
Well I was rather wondering how it could end this episode ... ... ... ... ...
That's the only show this season I've been watching that didn't finish (a few were from last season finishing this season)
When I first looked it up (back when it started) ANN said only 13 episodes.
Well - I guess that says something ... it's not the first time I've got something wrong from reading ANN
Anyways ... still 11 more episodes to go :)
BlueDo - September 29, 2009 01:43 AM (GMT)
Huh... apparently the sudden rise in quality was because storyboarding, direction, and key animation were all handled by Seiya Numata.
He also did
Gurren Lagann ep 4http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encycloped...le.php?id=23934This show just got awesome.
I hope it stays that way thoughout the series.
kano - September 29, 2009 10:14 PM (GMT)
Hmm - the only difference I noticed with Ep 13 was that they seemed to need to show the Pretty Girls Squad panties a whole lot more often ... sigh ...
Otherwise, 13 seemed like the rest of the shows from Ep 1 to 12 ... I didn't notice any change is style or quality.
BlueDo - October 21, 2009 07:25 AM (GMT)
Well... ep16 is out.
They really toned down the gore...

Not as inducing emotions as I expected.
Looking forward to more action, after the flashback episode next week...
kano - October 24, 2009 02:55 PM (GMT)
Finally watched the last few up to Ep 16 ...
Well, glad to see that I was sorta right in my guess about Cruz's sister!
She isn't dead and she is almost like the final boss - well she's the final boss up to Ep 16 ... so far :D
Did seem odd to kill her off in the beginning like that but use Cruz to make sure she was not forgotten ...
But as soon as '4' appeared of course it was her - the mask + green hair was also the obvious give-away.
As for Cruz's injury - well no big deal there - rip his arm off or cut him across the chest - not that big a deal.
This battle has sorta reached the limit of how long it can go on now in my opinion.
They need to move on to what's gonna happen next rather than using the battle to introduce all the new stuff
I gotta say - Saten's power was done well - nice and technical that part :)
Is this a Saki reference (put down) in Ep 18? :D

|
Well, anyone wanting some serious drama for once in this show ... well not really a lot ... but finally Ep 20 we get the history of Gido, Adam, Adam and Eve :) (continuing into Ep 21 ...)

It feels like a feeble attempt to make viewers pity Arclight...
That bastard!
BlueDo - November 19, 2009 11:33 AM (GMT)
In the last two episodes, Madhouse did quite a few of their own self-inserts. (Kannazuki being one of them. You might be able to figure who he is...)
Meaning that we may get an original ending instead of a season 2.
The flashback is alright.
It doesn't necessarily make you pity Arclgiht, but it shows where he's coming from.

Twas supposed to be somewhat of a hidden spoiler ...
kano - December 3, 2009 07:10 AM (GMT)
And now for an explanation of why there is a green haired girl in both OP1 (Aggressive Zone) and OP2 (Wanted! For The Love)
... ... go get Needless Special 1 :)
(though I always thought OP1 green haired girl was supposed to represent Aruka - Cruz's sister)
BlueDo - December 3, 2009 07:45 AM (GMT)
Haha, The 2nd ED kinda gave it away that it's Yamada
22nd episode has been subbed too, but I'll still wait for Ayako.
Apparently, Madhouse did an anime original ending...
kano - December 3, 2009 10:33 AM (GMT)
Well, including 22, they've got 3 more episodes to finish it and everything has sort of built up to the point where we know a lot about what's going on and have a lot of history filled in.
If they are going to finish the story, at this point A-A would have to lose soon for everyone to live happily ever after ... (I'd doubt they'd do an "everyone lives unhappily ever after")
If they want to have another double season or more, then they could pretty much do anything they like to keep it open.
Anyway, we'll find out in 2 weeks + a couple of days :)
As usual I don't read the manga ... nor do I want to know what happens in it before the anime finishes
kano - December 7, 2009 12:44 PM (GMT)
Sigh.
Well they do like to drag things on a bit ... at the end of 23 we're back at the beginning of 22 again :P
At least we now have more history than we could ever want :)
LOL - Japan was the target of the rest of the world's nuke attack due to being too powerful ... some script writer has some serious delusions :)
Huh? ... AA tentacle raped Riru ... planting his seed??
Anyway, one show to go ...
BlueDo - December 8, 2009 04:07 AM (GMT)
Lol. It was just a cluster.
At first Saten became the final boss.
Than Arclight took back the position.
At first, I enjoyed the idea of the twist.
But after Kannazuki died, it feels worse than if his betrayal never happened.
The Riru event was... a bit disturbing.
I can't wait to see what Madhouse will pull off to finish off such a broken character.
The problem was not really resolved in the manga.
kano - December 13, 2009 04:22 AM (GMT)
Not a bad ending as such.
I'm glad they actually came up with a workable solution - even if they had already used it before :)
But I guess the point of the story was how they overcame Arclight and of course they did.
Post ending bit (what happened next, to everyone) was OK also.
I still like the original OP they used for this final ED :)
LOL'ed at the pretty girl squad ... at Cafe Psychokinesis: "Darn, he left!" Cruz: "Phew..."
BlueDo - December 13, 2009 07:20 AM (GMT)
The ending was pretty satisfying.
Nee-san's reunion made me Daw.
There was not enough screentime for everyone, but it did conclude most of the stuff.
Cruz's resolve was ok, maybe a bit corny.
I'm still waiting to see how the manga approaches it.
