Title: Toy Story Triple
Description: Ack~my inner childhood

Deviantspy - June 19, 2010 08:25 PM (GMT)
Anyone one else watch this? I got a chance to watch Toy Story 3 in 3D and it was so amazing. Probably one of the few movies that gets better after each sequel. Bringing back old toys, saying farewell to some, and seeing new ones. Pixar made my inner child cry both with joy and sadness. Damn it. ;________; *plays with his old toys*

Gonna see it in a couple of hours. A theater in town just rolled out its new "Titan" theater with fancy leather seats, a bigger screen, 7.1 surround-sound, etc. and we decided to go watch it there both to see the new movie and theater.

Hmm - 3D - well maybe I'll take my kids to it when it comes out here then (another 4 days) :)
Haven't watched 1 or 2 for a while ...

Now, just need that 3DS to watch it in 3D at home :D :D :D

Just watched it. Despite having "native" 3D design and support, it wasn't made to be a 3D movie (one of those designed to show off 3D effects) and I think it was better for it. Honestly, the previews and trailers for other movies that preceded Toy Story 3 showed off more 3D effects but the movie itself would have been fine 2D and the difference wouldn't have been noticeable, since Pixar relies on more than 3D gimmicks to make a good movie. I really didn't even notice that it was in 3D aside from the heavy goggles I had to wear (it was an eclipse-3D theater).

I definitely thought it was a good movie. I can't say it reminded me of my childhood toys since I never had toys like that (I played with LEGO, train sets, and other non-anthropomorphic toys), but Toy Story itself and the other Pixar movies from the time (e.g. Bug's Life) were very much my childhood.

Heard good things about this and very much looking forward to its release here in Australia later this week.

I love Toy Story 2 in particular (along with Wall-E and Finding Nemo as my favourite Pixar movies), so I'm hoping this gives good closure on the characters, as well as plenty of good old fashioned fun.

watched it. it was beautiful. 'specially near the end.

Oh man the ending. I'm not gonna spoil it for the people who haven't seen it yet, but yeah it pulled me by the heart strings. If that was the movie to end the series, that would be it. Though I would never want it to end. :sniffle:

I saw it again, but in regular 2D format this time. It was easy picking out a lot of the easter eggs when you're not focusing on the 3D effects.

Oh and anyone familiar with their animus will be surprised to see the special guest toy. ^__^

Well, they haven't ruled out further movies, but say that they're not likely at the moment, since Pixar only makes sequels when they have a good story, rather than on some sort of schedule or as part of a trilogy deal. The problem with Toy Story is that more so than other Pixar films that rely on only a small cast of main characters, Toy Story has a comparatively large one, and it's already getting difficult to get all the original actors back (some have passed away). Notice how "slimmed down" the cast was this time around, with all of the characters that were cut from previous movies.

In fact, Toy Story is the only Pixar franchise to have sequels at the moment, with Toy Story 2 only existing because Disney demanded it. Although Pixar is working on Cars 2 to break the Toy Story combo.

Also, James Bond much? (to those who know what I'm talking about)

Deviantspy - June 20, 2010 11:16 PM (GMT)
Well that's fine either way. I'm ok with Pixar should they choose to make more sequels and keeping it interesting like the James Bond series as long as it doesn't end up losing the spirit like Quantum of Solace. Dude that movie had a poor villian, poor bond girl, and Daniel Craig was more like Daniel Craig and not James Bond. o___o

Anyways, back to Toy Story. I thought it was a little cheap how they got rid of some of the toys from the previous films. It was a nice touch though that they got someone to replace the voice of slinky the dog. He "almost" sounded like him. I think the number of cast members this time around seems alright. My only concern was whether or not introducing more toys would deviate away from the main storyline and focus more on the characters, but it turned out okay.

That actually wasn't the James Bond reference I was making. I'll just directly state it: Timothy Dalton does the voicing for that hedgehog stuffed toy at Bonnie's house, Mr. Pricklepants. The same Timothy Dalton that starred in two James Bond movies.

Yeah, I was wondering about Bo Peep and the others, but I suppose leaving Bo Peep in the movie to give Woody some female company would have made the film too complicated given the fact that Buzz was already hitting on Jessie and Barbie and Ken were having their time to shine. The rest were kind of disposable to begin with, admittedly, but having them back would have been nice if only for a moment.

Oh lol that's what you meant. Yeah Mr. Pricklepants didn't do much "License to Kill" or "Saved the Living daylights" unfortunately. I loved his shushing though.

Bumped because TS3 went to number 1 at the box office again!

Despite the release of 2 very high-profile new summer movies this past weekend, it was Pixar's TOY STORY 3 that kept chugging along in the top spot, adding another $59M to its total, which now stands at $227M after only two weeks of release. It has already beat the entire box-office total for the original TOY STORY ($191M) and will likely beat TOY STORY 2's total by next weekend ($246M). It will also surpass this year's other big animated movies like HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON ($215M) and SHREK FOREVER AFTER ($229M) in the next few days. Pretty friggin' remarkable! ~Joblo

A little late, but spill.com gave the movie a Full Price and Better Than Sex rating.
