Title: Prince of Tennis
Alternative title: Tennis no Ohijisama
Story: Ryome Echizen is a freshman tennis player in Seigaku high school. He is a prodigy tennis player who has just arrived from America. The series follows the story of him, his tennis comrades and rivals from district to kantou to national tournament of tennis and their goal to be the best in Japan.
this anime started off back in 2001 and has turned out to be one of most succesfull sport anime in history. The interesting part it that it doesn't requiere you to like any sports because of the solid storyline.

that's because US Distribution is only the MANGA because the anime hasn't been lisenced yet.
I haven't read the manga, I cannot say.

if you want to buy it go ahead. But you'll only read things you watched in the first 1-15ish episodes (i'm rusty on my POT anime)
But hey, it's $7.95 in the US... plus state tax... so it's not much.. save a few dollars :P... unless you can find it online -_-...
POT = good anime... but don't try playing tennis with what you learned from the show LoL... (i tried to act like Kevin [the American] by using his side racquet technique and i ended up knocking the ball out of the court :P)

Strangely enough, I picked up volume 1 and...didn't like it?! Yes, it's true. I just couldn't get into the story, and didn't like the characters.

No the first time Iīve heard this which is way I made an ANIME recommendation, not MANGA recommendation.
The manga is nothing like the anime, should try episode 01 instead of volume one, I bet you will like it.

mmhhh......I've watched a lot of anime related to sport (Captain Tsubasa, Attack Yu, Kyojin no Hoshi, Ashita no Joe....). Maybe i should give it a shot. I heard that there is a PS2 game too, but i'm too addicted to Virtua Tennis :rolleyes:

(before I tried this anime) I read and article about Sports anime and they said this was that when POT ended its run it would become the best Sport Anime ever... So I gave it a shot and I couldnīt agree more.
