No spoilers please unless you use tags, but is Negima already over? I'm not currently up to speed, but I'm slowly getting there since I don't want to find out by accident what happens in the end. This series was pretty much the foundation of our forum for a long time and now that it's coming to an end, what will we look forward to next? If there is anything. :mellow:

First off, in response to Deviantspy avatar and signature, Pinkie Pie rules (she and Fluttershy are the best of the Mane 6 IMO).

Second, in answer to your question, as Chachazero pointed out, Negima just came to an end earlier this month in Japan. So, this board has become somewhat dead because of that.

However, I'm sure there's going to be a few "bursts" in activity when the final volume comes out in Japan and more volumes come out in the United States. Also, if Ken Akamatsu does do a new work, I can expect the AQS community discussing it here.

I'm not sure. AQS has been around since the Love Hina days (is that website still up?). I feel like it's tied to the works Akamatsu puts out. If he does another series then activity will pick up. If not, there's no telling.

There's nothing that inherently ties it to Ken Akamatsu aside from the fact that it was Akamatsu's works that AQS released. The biggest reason is that right now, this forum doesn't really have anything to its name. That, and Aqua has been rather busy so to get things done, they basically have to be self-organized.

Theoretically, if AQS started releasing more works, then we would have a new influx of people. Just like there was in the Negima days. Forums inherently need something to keep pulling new people in to make up for the inevitable loss of old people.

I do like this forum, and i hope this forum won't die...

IIRC, moderator powers on IVF boards don't allow them access to that. You need access to the admin control panel to make such changes. But even then, what's really needed is something to draw more people in. We can have all the boards in the world, but without people to fill them, it's rather useless. I can ask Aqua to make the changes though, if people have ideas.

Some would argue that AQS has already been dead for quite some time.

I think a new work by Akamatsu could revive this place (even without AQS activity as a scanlator) but I wouldn't expect one so soon. Maybe until then ppl will have already forgotten these forums and moved to some other one. Who knows.

Interestingly, I always see a decent number of guests browsing the forums in the lower activity bar, but they never post. Is the registration still manually verified?

If anyone has a scanlation group here or something like that, maybe deciding on a new project might be a good idea....
There are still so many series out there, with RAW's available but no scanlation...
For example, i liked Koi Koi7 but the group just stopped and abandoned the series , and it's almost 1 years till anyone pick up it....
That would freshen things out i think...

One needs staff to do something. We no longer have enough scanlation staff to do anything. We advertised for staff at regular intervals for YEARS yet the number of staff we had just kept dropping. It's why we dropped negima for something easier to do. Now there's nowhere near enough staff to do anything, let alone do something harder or pick up something more.

While I'm still happy to do both fansubs and scanlations, it's not like I want to do it all alone.

So... we have the toheart2 dungeon travellers OADs to do, but apart from that, I cannot give you an optimistic outlook for the future of these forums and the community, as much as I love AQS.

Anyways, I will be saddened if this place ever goes under, I've learnt many things here. And as the others above have already pointed out, without something to lure in new blood, well, this place is gonna turn stale.

LOL can't complain about anyone else when I'm doing it alone though ;)
