With the revelation that time is different in the New world, it seems like AA will be getting home in time after all. Or at least, semi on time, I guess.
What do you guys/gals think will happen after this arc? Akamatsu-sensei is going to go untill 3-A graduates, right? So we still have the fall and winter to get through before the end comes. Or do you think Akamatsu-sensei will skip through all that? |

Nah, from what I heard, he had the half of his story done at volume 18(no that this means that there will be 36 volumes, his story was just at half). I think the story won't skipp much, because theres still enough story left.

God, I hope not. Skipping through would kinda suck and It'd make me cry, well, not if he decided to continue on after wards. But any way, I was kinda liking the Zazie's Demon World/Makai idea that was going around the Raw thread the other day.

As much as Eva likes to call herself a mid-boss character, I think Fate is the one who is assigned that role in Negima. There will be stronger enemies to come in the future. Afterall, there is someone behind Fate and the destruction of the gateports. After our wayward girls return to school, we will go back to a school comedy for awhile with perhaps some uncomfortable questions by some of the out-of-the-loop students being asked. We will probably get a hotspring episode during the fall with some short arcs and then some other crisis will emerge before Christmas.

Well after they return to Mahora their'll be the comedy stuff BakaRanger suggested. With some training scence added in to keep things not so fluffy.
Hopefully we get to see some development on the other characters in their. I'm thinking for Christmas Negi, Asuna, Konoka, and Setsuna will return to Kyoto to see Eishun. That may cause some friction betweenthose involved. Than of course we have Asuna's backstory as well as what haoppened Nagi. I'm thinking the big "crisis" will accour towards the end of the school year. |

Hopefully, Rainyday will actually get development...
But short term-wise, I'm hoping Kasuga gets more development, her profile page, and a storyline (mini)arc of some sort... Same with Aisaka... (Minus the storyline, since she got one back in volume nine... But more info on it would be nice...) |

What do you think of darkreapers arguments? I personally think that they're just plain stupid. (Yes twilit hana is me. All my user names have something refering to either twilight or fall, since that's pretty much when I was born. |

I'm predicting a series of Slice of Life moments in September, a Sports Festival + Halloween event in October. Sometime before Christmas, I'm predicting Chao's return (an adult Chao too) and Negi and his friends will have to timetravel to Future Mars and help Chao out (Chao will bring something for the return trip this time). Then we find out why what happened to Chao and what her tragedy was...
After an epic Mars arc, Negi and Class 3-A comes home for Christmas. P.S.: No way in hell is Negima going to end at the Magic World. We have enough unanswered questions at the Mahora Festival. Knowing Akamatsu or any other good author, we'll be getting new questions with every answer we receive! |

I don't have anything nice to say so I guess I won't say anything. and what, you are Asuna's brother? ----- what we know as canon from Ken himself. -- the story of Negima will end when 3-A graduated. -- when summer break come at book #18, it reach the half way mark because that is also the half way mark of a Japanese school year, -- after Negima is finished, there is a possibility that Ken will do spin off from one of the characters. what we know of Negima that will be dealt with in the MW arc, but might not reach a resolution. -- Negi vs. Fate rivalry. -- Asuna's past. what we know of Negima that will probably not be resolved during the MW arc. -- Nagi -- mystery boy in Kyoto photo -- Negi's mom -- mystery woman in Ostia flashback -- closure for various previous characters (Chao, Wilhelm, Tsukuyomi, Eva, the "stoned village people", etc.) what we know of school events that still has not occurred. -- fall school sports meet, what we know are major Japanese holiday in a manga that still has not occurred. -- Xmas -- New Year -- Valentine's day (a harem without it? blasphemy!) (white day, halloween, and doll day might or might not be skipped. doll day is important only because of Evangeline.) I would say a minimum of two more major arc, at least. the story so far is from Negi to Eva to Eishun to Al to Rakan, probably the next two will be from Rakan/Fate to mystery boy to Nagi. |

Glad you agree with me. I really don't want to have to eat my computer.
And yes, I believe Ken's going to do a Christmas. It's too much of a chance for an overload of moe-ness for him not to do it. |

Well, Christmas played a big part in LH so I would expect romantic comedy in overdrive to occur on Christmas Eve in Negima as well. Though I'm expecting a big arc to happen before Christmas in the story so that plot will be a few years off.

Heh, seeing some of the girls in Christmas outfits would be interesting to see.
Though I'm kinda hopeing to see Valentines day myself. Seeing what type of chacolate Negi gets and from who should be rather funny. Especially some of the girls reactions. |

We do need to get through the fall season first, sadly enough. But, plenty of time for a big arc (the rumored fall festival, perhaps?).

Not necessarily- the story is halfway through the year of Negi's tenure- it doesn't mean that there will be just 36 volumes. There could be more volumes or (god forbid) less! Widya Santoso |

I just had a fairly twisted vision of the last chapter of Negima, and I thought I'd share it with you all.
Negi finally tracks down dear old Dad and goes to meet him, alone, telling no one but Kotaru where he's going. When he arrives there's a big dramatic moment ruined by Nagi's idiocy and then they sit down and Negi tells him about his life. Then suddenly a big black portal opens and theres Eva and Asuna (who has Kotaru in a headlock). Kotaru apologizes and says they made him tell him and then Eva and Asuna charge at the Springfield duo, followed by the rest of the class/harem, using what ever powers they might have. Negi: Er, Dad? Nagi: Yeah? Negi: Run Nagi: Yeah And the last page is shows Negi and Nagi being pursued across whatever landscape by the girls. -------------------------- Yeah, I don't know if it would ever happen, but the thought of it made me laugh. |

Wait... Negi started the story with 10 years, wasn't it? It has been one year since then and Negi trains in Eva's resort every day, plus, he lived each of the three days of Festival amny times, and now he's in another time-twister zone.
I'm guessing Negi has already aged 2 years since the start of the story... So right now he's probably almost 12. If the story keeps like that, until the end of Negima he'll already be almost the age of the normal girls... (like Misa >_>) |

It said that he was 9 (10 by the Kazoe method) back in volume 1 and that was about a year ago (manga time), also in chapter 202 it said that he had trained in with Eva for 7-8 months, which, minus the three months on the outside, would be about four months. So Negi should be closing in on 11 now. |

Negi was born in 1994 summer, current time is 2003 Sep/Aug, according to 202 Negi spent 3 months training in Eva's resort, but 7-8 months in real elongation time, what he gained during the festival is insignificant because the real time he spent are all in hours, (just because he jump a week into the future doesn't mean he has lived a week in real life.), the MW time is in dilation, (meaning shrinking in unit measurement and going faster, but the total length of time are still the same.) the moment he returns to RW he will be back at normal again, he is about 9 years old calendar age and 9.75 years old in real age top. |

Hasn't it been about a year in the manga since he was nine? There have been two half year tests, so I'd think that it would have to be. Are you sure about the in story dates? Where'd you get 'em from? Any way, beyond the 9.75/10.75 thing I agree with you completely. |

yes, I am sure, I am maintaining a Negima timeline myself. Negi's birthday is in book #2, when there is the Negi bio in front of ch. 10, the three school tests in Negima so far, are the end of year final for 2-A's winter semester in March, then the 3-A's midterm for spring semester in May, then the final for 3-A's spring semester in July. Negi arrives in Mahora in late February, 2003, it is just barely over half a year in story time, even if the serialization is in the beginning of its 6th year. |

it's 94', Nagi is the one that disappears in 1993, and of course there must be a reason Ken done that, I can think of 3 or 4 of them right away, it will probably be explained when we have the Nagi arc later, I mean much, much later. |

Hmm, I kinda got the impression that he'd actually be turning 10 this summer. Meaning he was already 9yrs 8 months or so when he arrived in February. Add in the 3 or so months in the resort in addition to actual time spent would be around 9 months of ageing. Meh, it'd be slightly easier if we knew his actual D.O.B. Ok so being born in 94. 94 + the 6yrs to 2000, than 3yrs to 2003. Yeah 9.5/9.75 sounds about right now. This post has been edited by Trowa on Apr 10 2008, 09:15 PM |

So Negi was nine and three quarters at the beginning?
And it's only been, what? 5-6 months? He started in the spring, which was near the end of the school year, was there for a few weeks until the spring break which is a month...Gaaaaaaaah, my head hurts! Anyone wondering how the slice-of-life scenes are going to play out, now that more than half the class now knows Negi's dirty little secret (really, that kid's a top secret agent of the British Government? Who knew? I mean, look at the changes in Zazie-chan! She's become a practical chatter-box! |

he was almost 10 in the start of the story, and nearly one year has passed since the start. I don't know for how many months he has been training with Eva, but he is probably almost 12 by now.
If you add the one or two months that this arc will take, he'll probably be 12 by the end of the summer holidays, I guess. I'm curious about if Negima will ever be the same again. I mean, as Twilit Libra said, more than half of Negi's students know of his secret. The only ones that don't know about Negi so far are: -The Cheerleaders -The Twins -Chuzuru -Ayaka I could also have added Zazie but come on, everyone knows Zazie is the mastermind behind everything. It's a fact that she knows about Negi... no? |

Just top throw a smidgen of fuel on the fire. Does that mean jr. High, High School, or College? Just saying when they graduate is a tad vague. Although I admit it's highly likely that it means jr. High. Still it'd be nice to see what they look like in their high school uniforms and all. |

Most of which are probably due to one simple thing: Negi himself probably doesn't know his exact birthday. I mean, his dad went missing almost straight away (Negi has barely any recollection of him at all), and no one seems to know (or speak of) who the heck his mum is. As far as a lot of people are concerned, he probably 'popped out' somewhere and then Nagi dumped him in that village in Wales before going on his way.
Flame bait! |
