I've been holding this off for a while (Still haven't finished ZSZS yet, nor Canaan for that matter).
But, which sub groups have superb quality in terms of subtitles? (Consistency in names and terms)
And I'll assume someone has a batch out there.

I love how Shaft's common elements are always in their series.
(Let's compare JC's Tsukihime and Shakugan No Shana, hmmm)

No full batches that I've seen yet.
But even Ep 01 from GG still has (many) seeds (if you can put up with the fact that the ^%#$ randomly leave adverts in the show)

I'm doubting that there are going to be batches for abit given that the last 3 eps are still totally up in the air.

Ah smile.gif
Ep 1 in true 1080p from a BD torrent is so nice to watch smile.gif (on a 1080p 42" screen)
(CoalGirls also translated all the rest of the intro text in Ep 1)

I'll be interested to compare much later shows to see how much (if any) of the cuts are actually replaced with anime ...

However, as you said about Ep 13: on the website (I was trawling through yesterday) it also says the 28th

Ah, I thought it was already over. *I think I'll pay more attention from now on*
And I think we already had the gg's adverts talk in the Cannan thread. heh.gif
Surprisingly, when gg subbed ZSZS, there hasn't been any left over adverts.

Well there isn't actually a need to wait for the last 3 episodes.

The first one taking a month after the show finishes, certainly suggests that waiting for them may be a very long wait ...

Secondly, the end of Ep 12 is a clear ending in terms of a normal story in my opinion.
Rewatching Ep 1 and then even Ep 5 makes Ep 12 suggest that the story is a very short one about Koyomi and Hitagi and the ghost stuff just happens to be the very interesting filler along the way smile.gif

@ Kano
Might be more SHAFT's direction on it than the author's as the author seems content with continuing oddity stories. Indeed Meme's statement that he ain't gonna be hanging around there forever does indicate changes in store. Araragi's the main character, I guess being the closest to him in the early stages effectively gets Senjougahara a main spot also.

re. the gg ads
From what I can gather - I think it's whoever supplies the raw that puts them in. As speedsubs I think they just slap on the subs and ship em out.

Regarding the raws: yeah, but every other sub I have ever watched from every other group has no adverts.

So, one of:
1) gg is the only group to sub something that I have watched that had adverts left in the raw
2) every other group that has made a sub that I have watched removes adverts when they find them

I'll take a guess at 2) smile.gif

Note again what I have highlighted: "that I have watched"
Coz I guess there could easily be other groups that do the same thing but I don't often get subs from random unknown groups (except at the beginning of the seasons)

There are more than one source for raws. Their preferred provider may just decide to stick em in or something. I unno.

The first volume of Bakemonogatari has gone on to sell an astonishing 56,000 copies in two weeks, the lion’s share in Blu-ray format.

The sales of the series have now beaten every other TV anime save various generic giant robot anime, crushing Haruhi and K-ON! completely, and with even more sales likely sales of 60-70,000 seem quite possible.

Still raeping all other series thumbs_up.gif
It's called Tsubasa Cat Part 3.
It's not a jump back it time i.e. it's not Golden Week.
(next week is Tsubasa Cat Part 4)
No doubt the gg version will have adverts in it - coz the version I got, did also - all were Bakemonogatari adverts except the last one.

Hitagi: My voice actress is excellent.
Araragi: Voice actress!? What is this, an anime!?

She-Cat in pyjamas ...

No OP, just Bakemonogatari adverts.
ED is slightly different, in line with the episode.
Unfortunately, the web site says for the next episode: TBA
(The first item currently listed here: http://www.bakemonogatari.com/onair/ )

haven't watched gg's yet.

Do you happen to know of a group doing the BDs along with the character commentry?

QUOTE
The Blu-ray edition of Bakemonogatari’s second volume has sold in excess of 39,000 copies, making it the best selling Blu-ray TV anime ever, and the second best selling Blu-ray anime of all time, easily beating K-ON! and only surpassed by Evangelion 1.11.

Including normal DVD sales of 18,731, the volume has managed a staggering 58,000 copies sold. The first volume, which itself managed at least 56,000 copies, seems only to have whetted the appetites of fans…

Imo I think this shows how great their achievement with Bakemonogatari TV was despite missing so many bits from everywhere. heh.gif

edit: It also sounds like they're messing about with the EDs now that they have time to play. I wonder if we'll get that from the BDs...

I've pretty much become a TT junkie,
I find all my TV show torrent from there, not from the sub sites any more.

Finally started watching this, if I knew it was originally from Nisioisin (Love that reversible name), I would have picked it up sooner.

Still, I kind of regret watching it.
The story's good, (Hell, it's Nisioisin) the animation's good, but the way Shaft did it was so stupid to me. It might be early to judge since I'm only at episode 2, but seriously... Mixing in those random real life picture as a representative of the mother, it was a major turn off for me. Sure at some point it would be funny, but would you really do that while showing someone's traumatic past?

Someone tell me it gets better in that respect...

Off topic:
Zaregoto 2 is due for English release June 2010... It's been post-pone for a full year already...
North America likes screwing over Light Novels. The only exception would be Haruhi...

It's awesome by way of script, direction and VAs.

If you want all of the visuals up to par - go get the Blu-ray/DVD ones. With their releases it's pretty certain that the series was aired unfinished and rushed.

And didn't you know that SHAFT likes to do their abstract stuff?

@Rai - yeah - look at the spoiler in the post 2 above yours by Strange_One - each of the 2 or 3 'real life' images have been replaced with animated ones - I'd hope they did that for all the BR/DVD release ... well I HOPE SO!

But ... it seems my hope is wrong ...
I just watched the Ep2 BR and the scene during the exorcism hasn't changed the real faces to animated ones (but the whole animated scene quality is way better than the original TV release - shading/lighting)

But, yes, I agree with you about that also - I remember making that comment myself here back when they first aired ... checks ... yes my spoiler tag about Ep 2 in the 6th post on the first page ...

That's what I was worried Shaft would do to the Negima OADs (Luckily they didn't, and only used it during comedic parts)

Surprisingly, my computer can't play Blu-Ray or any sort of HD.
It's probably just my Windows Media Player (VLC's good and all, but it's hard to manage for me.)
But, if it's THAT much of a difference (Seeing that confirms it), then yeah, I'll get the Blu-Ray version and hijack my bro's laptop sometime.

Sigh...
Seriously, just thinking...
Is Bakemonogatari and the Negima OADs the only two serious (Or somewhat serious) series Shaft has done?

Last note, has anyone actually read the light novels yet? To be honest, the scripting in the anime seems flawless (Assuming our TLs are good), and I'm going to assume the original is even better in terms of descriptions and script.

Edit: Anyone know if any sub group translated ALL of the still frame dialog? I noticed gg didn't have the ones that went by for a split nano second.

Do'h I just watched Ep 13 again (coz I found the obvious link on the web site where it is and I never noticed before ...)
And I only just noticed that the clouds at the beginning (and again at 8:00) are cat ears ... LOL
(and again about 15:45)

I have read the translated chapters of Kizumonogatari at Bakatsuki. When you do read it, you can just forget most of the subliminal stuff that SHAFT spouts out every now and then.
All I can say though is that, if you've read Tanigawa Nagaru's SHnY It will remind you of Kyon very much!

Heh, SM cracked before I did tongue.gif

The production on this un feels rather haphazard doesn't it?
Guess it'll be quite a while still till the series is actually complete sleep.gif

Fortunately? I'm a little too busy to be consuming anime about now,
Good thing we have Kano on the lookout and Kara no Kyoukai 7 coming soon. biggrin.gif
