Firstly, there is actually a recommendation thread for this show here: http://z4.invisionfree.com/aquastar/index.php?showtopic=3018
Last post 3 years ago smile.gif

Maybe I'm thinking this is way better than it really was coz I've been watching a lot of trash anime lately smile.gif ... anyway ...

I just watched this in the past week (on DVD) - in English for 99% of it - (yeah all 50 shows ... lots of late nights staying awake watching it rather than sleeping ...)
Great story, anime was good also - the characters were drawn pretty blandly but the battles and visual effects and, well, everything else was all very good!
The English dub for Eureka and Renton was really good also (I didn't check anyone else)
And I think Eureka's name is great coz of how you pronounce it correctly smile.gif
(Though, only Renton seemed to get close to correct in English tongue.gif)

Now ... one of the reasons for this thread ... well you see (as I said) I just finished watching it (about an hour ago) and the ending ...
The fact that there was a skip to 1 year later and still no sign of Eureka and Renton, had me wondering what exactly happened ...

Didn't really make any sense to me coz Nirvash seemed to have taken Eureka's job in the new control cluster ... and let the two of them go ...
I guess that could have meant that they went with the Coralians ... but I'm not sure.
Did Nirvash and some of the Coralians stay behind? Or did they all leave? I guess they all left.

Also there was the red and blue light in the distance at the end ... and what was clearly supposed to be Eureka's wings and thus Eureka and Renton standing next to each other ... and if it was only 1 year later and they left with the Coralians then they shouldn't have been back for another 1000 years I'd guess ...

Also the way Renton's grandfather looks at the moon of course suggests the heart on it is new

So what had they been doing for that year?

Hmm - maybe it was simply that they had come back but leave it up to your imagination ...

Not sure.
Anyway, then a surprise ... a movie was released this year!
BUT ... it has a different story to the anime!
It's called "Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers"
And the description on ANN seems very different to the TV show.

Now I understand the anime vs manga issues and even that sometimes there is very little relationship between an anime and the similarly named manga ... but why on earth would they make a movie with a different story to it?

Oh well - time to see if I can track it down ...

Edit: Hmm .. the torrents call it "Pocket Full of Rainbows"
