Little bit of info first.

Queen`s Gate is essentially a branch of Queen`s Blade.

Queen`s Blade was originally a game book series.
Its characters were all part of a story and each character had their own book with illustrations by a different artist.

Queen`s Gate is essentially the same thing with 1 difference.
The girls are all from various anime and video-games.
most of which you`ll likely know.


Queen`s Blade Spiral Chaos was an RPG PSP game based on the Queen`s Blade anime.


Queen`s Gate Spiral Chaos is essentially a sequel or a brand new game with the characters from Queens Gate.

Now to get your interest here are the known characters of Queen`s Gate.

Dizzy from Guilty Gear
Katja from Seikon no Qwaser

I am probably the only other person here who will admit to even knowing about this game let alone actually playing it. I will probably get the regular edition of the game though, the extras dont appeal to me.

I would advise you to keep an eye on your credit card statements for a while though, that company is located in a shadier part of the city known for bootlegs.

I have bought a few games from NCSX and so far I`ve had no problems with them so far but I will heed your warning.


Same here on the extras on the limited edition.

1)a Maroon(original character in the game) figure

2)A card case with Alice as the cover(I think)

I`d love the case and the limited edition box but the regular edition is expensive enough as it is.

Nice to know somebody besides me knew about and planned to buy this game.

Her book is scheduled to come out a little after this game`s release so thats understandable.
But why Kotone?

I already said I`m ordering from NCSX and since I live in London the shipping for me is a tad bit expensive.
Alltogether I`m paying £56 for this game.

I am not preordering it since Otakon is the weekend it comes out.
I will just go to http://www.videogamesnewyork.com/ store and get it from there, since they are local for me. The website is not always accurate with current stock though, since they travel to a lot of conventions, I have seen games both in-store and at cons that are not listed on the site.

I normally use CDJAPAN to order my stuff from since they tell you if first press is available and will confirm it too, so if you order when first press or limited edition is available your order will state first press and that is what you will receive. I also like that they accept a variety of payment options including Money Orders.

Kotone is a HobbyJapan girl like Jubei and Junko so they don't have to pay for her to be in the game.

How is the game?

I`m deep into it and so far I`m loving it.

Some of the levels can be very challenging.

I forgot the level number but you have to kill some enemies at the top of the screen and then have everyone flee to the gate at bottom when it appears without having anyone to die and under a certain number of turns.

The ultimate moves are AMAZING!!!

I havent seen everyones yet but Alice is incredible.

I`m sure I missed some CG`s not just story-wise but I beleive you have to fufill certain condition in some levels to make certain CG`s appear.

Also So many anime cutscenes and the various characters being together and interacting with each other really is a nice sight.


Lili from Tekken, loved her face in the first cutscene.
Last Tekken I played was 3 so is she actually like that in the games?

Kotone-chan is merciless.
She rips people in half(not exaggerating) with a saw, she has a gun which sticks needles in enemies(LOOKS EXTREMELY PAINFUL).

I could go on all day with the appeal of these girls but I enjoy seeing every one of them.

except for Ivy, seeing her in the nurse outfiut, or rather seeing "adult-ish" characters isnt my thing.

Kind of funny how they made Juubei fall from the sky, hehe.


Its a fun game, I want to finsih the main story first and I`ll consider making a review.

In the meanwhile where are you in the game Jdennis.

Last time I recall I was on lvl.42.

Accuracy and attack are my main arsenal.

I am still recovering financially from Otakon, so I have not been able to purchase it yet and my psp is not hacked so i cannot play a downloaded one, so i have not played it yet. I did not know there were CGs for it, can you post some so I can see what they look like.
Jubei falling from the sky is a nice touch because that is how she first appears in Samurai Girls.

Most of the CG`s are not impressive at least the ones I`ve unlocked anyway.

I have to say it so I`ll avoid details(spoilers)

Anime cutscene, your group ends up in an abandoned demolished school.
Bright light in the sky,
Yagyuu Juubei descends in a sphere of light.

Like you said I thought that was a typical but great way to debut in the game.
In the following level you have to prevent the "baddies" from catching her since shes on the ground in the ball of light unable to move.


Noel Vermillion whose book gets released later this week was pretty much a mystery character in this game.

She pops up randomly in some levels to help you but then disappears but then joins you.

For those who play Blazblue.

"NEMISIS STABALIZER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have yet to unlock her move but I have a feeling its her Astral finish.....or possibly something stronger....

I`m excited.


This game is hard as hell in the later stages.
Take advantage of the free battles in the menu because you`re going to need it.

I havent mentioned this but the QUEENS BLADE cast also play roles in the story not as side characters but as characters who interact with the Gate girls.

The game is ONLY VOICED during fights and anime cutscenes which is a BIG down for me since I depend on my ears to understand the story in full.

She`s a hero of Justice type, her debut in the game is what you`re probably thinking.

I ask because her outfit reminds me of manga of old and was wondering if she is based on an old HERO series.

The genre today mainly lives through super sentai these days.

WOW!!!

I`m amazed and greatful but was there any particular reason why Momo was in this game?

I mean in 1 of the cutscenes she had the entire screen to herself and of course the whole brand new design just for this game.

Is Momo part of Hobbey Japan?
There is no Gate book on her.



Also....

I recently beat the main story and I won`t say any spoiler but there is 1 empty slot at the very bottom of the cutscenes in the extra(its called special) section.

Which suggests a true ending.


I noticed that 2 characters never got recruited so I`m assuming I have to have everyone on me and perhaps pick certain choices to get true ending.


In any case I`m now on my 2nd playthrough and a few things to say.

1)Your levels are reset so all stats boost items used in your 1st playthrough were wasted.

2)All items found and abought will still be kept.

3)All moves that were learnt upon leveling up will be kept even though you`ve been reset.

4)Unlocked costumes are kept.

5)Intermission events have been reset.



This bugged me alot.

In the extra section you have Character, CG, Cutscene sections etc.
But 1 section remains unlocked with ???

I`m worried that I used my save file the wrong way or something as there were options to pick upon starting my 2nd playthrough.

Also JDennis.
I missed my chance on my 2nd playthrough for this but when you get the game when you fight the bat girl and the big breasts girl near the start of the game please try to kill the big breasts girl.

I have a theory that a cutscene may appear followed after.
When I killed the bat girl there was a Cg of her in the next event.
And the CG section has an empty slot next to that so its a possibility.

Nyantype magazine which I buy monthly showed Annelotte`s character designs.

I am not a Queens blade fan or rather I haven`t watched the anime to say that I am however the characters from the Rebellion books look really interesting.

I`ve beaten the story a couple times, I`m mainly trying to get 2 of 4 ending and a CG I keep missing and at the same time unlocking everyones kiss events.
