It's been a long day at work, but your little summary is here (though I can't really guarantee quality-- that's what Sushi's for). Let us teh begin. *pops on "Lost My Music"*

Chapter 140 Jacelation HAPPY READY GO~!!!

We start with Negi asking the mages to wait, saying that if they use Chao's time machine, they can go back to the day of the festival and return history to what it was. Of course, Gandolfini the Wizard tells him to stop with the fairy tales-- time travel is impossible. He then says that the principal has returned to the magic country, but at this point there's really not much that can be done. All of the magic teachers will have to pay for failing their duties in this event. Negi, of course, is no exception. He'll probably never get to return, either.

Negi asks about his teaching position, and Gand says that the training is finsihed. Even though he's the Thousand Master's son, the situation this time will still be difficult. As for now, Negi's quite famous because of the video tape of his exploits in the tournament. Because of that, he hopes that Negi can understand that they really can't have him wandering about the school. Again, Negi tries to protest weakly, but Gandolfini tells him to give it up. He won't be able to meet his students a second time. Whatever-the-!#@$'s tries to extend some good news and says he thinks that Negi's punishment may be light considering that he's still 10. With that, the two leave, leaving Negi (almost) speechless.

BAD END!! (Sensei?! SENSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!</Otacon>)

Haruna then pulls the safety chord on the joke of the moment and Asuna tells her not to end things as she wishes. Chisame then asks if they're really going to fight the teachers, trying to see if there's some other way. Kamo responds by saying it's too early to give up. Though it seems their combat power is still somewhat inexperienced. Still, if they don't give up, surely a path will open to them.

We then move outside, where Touko is telling Asuna and the other 9 of them to come with them peacefully. They don't plan to harm them or anything like that. She just wants to explain the situation to them as a representative. Chisame asks what to think of the statement. It was peaceful, so they should probably go along. Kamo tells her to wait, saying he's just realized something. Touko then gives them a warning saying that she'll wait 5 minutes, and Kamo states that they should break through and go save Aniki, then begins to explain. (I'm really hoping the plan is "wild sex party".)

The information in question involves the world. If they were to to be taken now, they don't know how long they'd be in captivity. Furthermore, there's a chance this representative will take them to the magic country, and if such is the case, they're not gonna find another way. Kaede asks if he has a plan. Kamo asks Nodoka if Eva is around, and of course nobody is using the resort, leading him to assume she already gave up on this place. Kamo then tells Chisame he has something he wants to look up online, but she tells him it's useless there. If they could get to the front of the station, though, she may be able to hook into the wireless LAN. Then he calls for the plan to commence. The two large-eared fighters take their stand.

Setsuna tells Touko that they will not accompany them, and instead will force their way through. On the right is a western magician of null-aria use who prides himself on long distance wind cutting. On the right is Kuzuha Touko, a Shimeiryuu swordswoman. She left 8 years ago to marry a western magician and went to the Kantou region (Note: though it seems she got a divorce). Setsuna also came here hoping to learn from her, the strong, always calm and composed master. (She also wanted to learn how to bag a Western Mage [i.e. Konoka])

Touko asks why she's not going come with them. Setsuna responds by saying that she doesn't have time to talk, but wants her to believe they'll change things for the better. Touko then says that if she can't talk, then she's got to be in league with Chao. She then begins to state that her life has been thrown into ruin by that Chao Lingshen... Mr. Tall n' Dark asks her to calm down. Touko responds ballistically, asking how she's supposed to calm down when she's gonna be forced back to the magic country and forced into an ermine prison camp for three years. Even though... finally... she managed to get an ordinary boyfriend.

TnD says that she might be able to still date him without hiding the truth. She basically says "no I won't!" If the other party is in the "Magic Country" as an ERMINE, what kind of long distance relationship is that? It's all over, it's a catastrophe! He says that if she doesn't give up, surely there'll be something in the future. Of course, she disputes that, asking what kind of future she'd have? If she came back, she'd already be thirty-(BLEEP) years old! (Um... *raises hand* I'd still hit it.)

Finally, she calms down (really?) and says she can't worry about that now. It doesn't matter if they're with Chao. If say they won't come along, though... (CUE FRICKING PSYCHO BITCH!!)... THEN THEY SHOULD DIE!!!

After fighting a bit and calling on her artifact, Setsuna realizes that even though she's a little crazy, Touko's skill is still perfect. She's definitely a professional. After Kaede fights with TnD a little (realizing it's no use against his incantations), Touko tells Setsuna that a lively young middle school girl like her wouldn't understand what Touko is going through, and then proceeds to toss her like a rag doll. After a little incantation, they're caught in a whirlwind, game, set, and match.

Kaede notes that they're very profession, winning so easily. However, Chao is certainly dreadful. Setsuna agrees, saying that it was likely her plan to get them to fight with the mages, even though they should really have no reason to fight or relation at all. They're like shogi pieces to such a genius. For the time being, though, they should hurry it up and try to slow them down. As the two mages enter, TnD notes to be wary of Ku Fei and Asuna, Touko noting that the other 7 should be inside, and if they get them, Setsuna and the rest should come along peacefully.

Once inside, Touko begins her "come along peacefully schpiel", saying they've already got the other two. They don't plan to hurt them... but why aren't they resisting? She tries to tell them not to worry about Negi, as they have him. But with no answer, she then wonders if they're even listening. But wait...! HOLY CRAP! THEY'RE JUST GOLEMS!!! (Nice job falling for that one, blondie.)

As the other escape, proclaiming their victory. Kamo says that even though they can't really do anything about being unable to meet up with Setsuna and Kaede, it was still really well done. Paru brags, while Chisame thinks to herself that it was really more thanks to the artifact. As Asuna complains (for some reason) about her drawing having really big breasts, Yue asks if it's okay that they left the other two behind. He notes that considering that the two were magic teachers and really stong, they really had no choice but sending those two. As they move along, Chisame finally spots a telephone box. She's able to connect via ISDN, and Kamo asks her to look up something. He wants her to go to the homepage of the "World Tree Perfect Love Association" Before they can protest much, they are stopped by another loud-mouthed blondie.

Chisame wonders what hell that army's from, while Haruna notes her as that nude girl. Forgetting that, Takane tells them that she'll have them come along peacefully, and if they intend to resist, she will punish them as an ALLY OF JUSTICE!! (She's like Shirou, only with big knockers and a penchant for being disrobed.)

And the chapter ends with Asuna thinking she may be able to do this. So, will there be a grandoise fight in the NEXT chapter? ONLY TIME SHALL TELL! ... and maybe a leaked source on 2ch.

SO FOR NOW, GOOD DAY, GOOD NIGHT, AND AS ALWAYS: FIGHT FOR THE SAKE OF JUSTICE!!

... man, I'm REALLY !#$%ing tired. dry.gif

HAHA! Yes! Looks like Negi and co. might get the big can. At the very least, Negi anyway. I want to see Negi ermine-ized and thrown into the magical prison for three years, coming back as a prisoned-hardened badass, devil may care, anti-hero character that destroys all the mage population. Therein' weakening the future mages number. Causing future Chao to think that maybe if magic had been exposed earlier, there'll be more mages around, so she goes back in time to change the future...and suceeds in reaffirming that her future comes true. Thus proving that time is linear and unchangeable!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! laugh.gif

mellow.gif I hope that the battle between Takane and co. will be at least interesting. It'll be too dumb if all that happens is Asuna waves her fan, Takane naked. In fact, I'm actually rooting for Takane to beat the crap out of Asuna and the girls. Why, because I love anti-climatic scenes.

Well that was farely interesting. Seems TnD is the calmer more reasonable 1. wink.gif Perhaps he could be presuaded to help team Negi?? He could probable teach Negi and Konoka a few things. Imagine him and Takahata in a fight. ohmy.gif

Though it looks like we're going to have some more fanservice next chp.

Curious, curious...

I'm surprised at the magic teachers being so uber powerful, but then again, I guess they are adults while Setsuna and Kaede are still teenagers who are uncomplete in their training.

Definatley, it appears that fanservice is coming our way in the conceivable future...

But overall, I'm pretty ok with the direction things seem to be going in. Bring on the next chapter!

EDIT: Redwolf, it appears that we are going to find out who that mysterious last magic girl that you're enthralled with actually is rather soonish...!

No, Takamichi's gonna show Negi just how big his "kanka" is and put the little idealistic brat to rest for good. Thus, Pime Taradox and all that jazz.

After reading the chapter summary, something came up that makes me think that there's still one more piece of information that Negi and crew will need to know before they can jump back in time.

Considering how Chamo wanted Chisame to check out the "World Tree Perfect Love Association" web page, something is telling me that a key part of Chao's plan involves someone on her side making a love confession, hence activating the tree's power. Considering how hard it was to control Negi when Nodoka accidentally activated the tree's powers at 80%, activating the tree at 120% may result in a bigger problem, one that can only be handled if all of the mages are together. Thus, with all the mages busy stopping the person who is under the spell of the World Tree, Chao could easily have her crew and robot army take over the checkpoint areas, thus ensuring her plan succeeds.

Hence, it's likely Chamo may want to check the site to see if anyone activated the tree on the last day of the festival (and possibly at what time). Then, with that information plus the information Negi received about what Chao did to expose magic, Negi and his crew will have a good idea of what to expect once they return to Day 3 and hence stop it.

Good speculation TnAddct1. And yeah, even if they do have enough magic to power up the cassie, they will need much imformation they can get to change history and stop Chao. After all, if you are going back in time to change history, imformation is always essential to that type of task and Chamo and Chisame is good at intel.

Oh come one Jaceryl...How are we so sure he'll do that. Unlike Seruhiko and Gandolfini, he didn't even say one word or give a scolding or rant on Negi for letting this happen. Yes, he will talk to Negi about being less soft and maybe help the brat out but performing Tanka on him is too much emo contented in a way. Only place you will see that happen is freaging Elfen Lied or One Piece.

Only because there won't be enough magic to power the watch.

Unless of course, they somehow get enough magic power to do so.

Say the Mages actually believe Negi and all help power the watch maybe?

If that does happen, Eva will probably be needed since she's pretty powerful. That, and if the world's found out about mages, people in her class might actually realize from her fights earlier, that she's a mage/vampire and start questioning her, thus annoying her which will probably make her want to help turn back time even more.

I think that TnAdct1 is right on the money with that one, because I was wondering what the heck Kamo would want with that webpage...it seems like a logical idea indeed.

As for what Takamachi is going to do, I wouldn't be surprised to see him side with Negi and bust him out, simply because he was a member of the Crimson Wing and hung out with Nagi and Co, who to my mind, were never the type to do things 'by the book', especially the Nagi that Takamachi looks up to. He'd probably go "Aw, screw it, what have I got to lose?" and bust Negi out just to see where things go. A bit of a pity, I think it would almost be funny to have Negi spend the next part of the series as an ermine... tongue.gif

Or if Takahata chooses NOT to let Negi out, we'll probably see Asuna facing Takahata herself.

I wonder that since Negima is using the one timeline theory that the outcome of the World Tree/up to this week's events are unchangeable. Everything that happened, is ment to happen. In finding a way to go back to the past, Negi & Crew have caused all this exposure to magic in the first place.

Sorry if this has already been discussed to death earlier, but I'm not going back and viewing X pages back again

But this also doesn't mean that what we're viewing is the final outcome of the whole scenerio, there could very well be yet another set of Negi & Co from even further down the timeline that'll fix everything. Most likely not fix the whole magic revelation during the festival week -> 1 week after (they are already doomed to fail), but possibily finding a solution for afterwards.

More ermine. U want to see all mages as ermine.

Well, I think it is not easy to get that many magic power except from magic country. I think they will go to magic country and there they will find that power to charge up the watch. Perhaps the door at Libarary Island is a key for their sucess and there might be a power stone or crystal that will charge up the watch.

I have a question that I woyld like to discuss. Will Misora and Kotarou fight Asuna and gang? If all this fight is based on elimination, there is not many powerful people left in the group and some of the is useless if I want to say it. Haruna, Asuna, Kufei and Yue are the only ones that can fight. If haruna and Ku Fei fight the mahou shoujo. Then we only left Asuna and yue that can battle and Yue is not that strong. If Kotarou come and battle them, they will be in big trouble considering if he go berserk.

Well, seeing as how the world tree is used as a catalyst for the watch. An ENORMOUS amount of magic is involved in time travel. The world tree stored energyover 21 years, which is equal to the normal amount it usually stores over 22 years. If one takes into consideration, a mage just takes energy from the air and uses it in various techniques and spells, however this energy is not actually stored over time, rather, it's gathered for instantaneous use. The world tree in theory amplifies the efficiency of energy gathering by concentrating all the energy in the air.

So, my theory is that it would take similar conditions in order to power the casseiopia. Even if it's a large group of mages, it would make no difference over the activation of the Casseiopia, because the energy requirement in the air would not be met.

I would like to see Negi go god mode and wipe everyone out, just for 2417z and giggles

A replacement for the world tree is simple, really. Go to another magical site that's going to be releasing energy soon. Didn't they say there were ~12 sites?

Yeah they did say that. But those 12 sites cant have effect unless the World Tree is fueling it with magic.

I don't know if we can count Haruna-san as a "fighter."

On another note, I'm sure everyone noticed that in Jaceryl's account Touko-san implied that the magic teachers at Mahora are all going to be punished, not just Negi-san.

This lends more credance to my original deep distrust of the hidden mage society. The penalties for failure are draconian even when one is only tangetally at fault.

Also, a third note... am I the only one who thinks that Mei-san and the unnamed other girl look really awesome in those dark outfits?

How are the other mage teachers only tangetally responsible? As best I can tell they put their collective arse's in a sling by trusting a 10 year-old to do an adult's job. Then they have the nerve to get pissed at him when he fails. That makes me seriously question their descion makeing skills.

And yes I know what your all going to say: But he's Nagi's son surely HE can handle Chao. dry.gif What you fail to consider like them is that Negi is still a freakin' 10 year-old!!! On top of that he didn't even know Chao was a "problem child" until the end of vol. 9. How is he suppossed to deal with a threat if his suppossed allies don't even give him halfway decent intel??

Let's face it the other teachers took for granted Negi was his son and got royaly screwed because of it. They should be punished for there laps in judgment.

As for Asuna's group only her and Fei Ku can fight imo. If Katoru joined the fight it would be on Asuna's side cause he would have a certain amount of loyalty to Negi. He may wring Negi's neck afterwords for letting a girl out think him but he'd still help him.

See, I do see your point, and *if* this fact is true, then you are totally right and I retract my previous statement.

However, I am as yet unsure if Negi-san was formally given total responsibility over Chao-san by the teachers as a whole, or rather if it was just in that one case (on the first day) when he saved her from Gandofini-sensei.

We guess that when Negi-san went to confront Chao-san alone, that he was put up to it by the teachers, but... I'm not sure if it has been fully explained that that was the case.

Am I the only one who expects Koutarou to get his rematch with Negi in this arc? Think about it. Kota-kun is at least nominally a part of the Mahou Sensei & Student group which are the current obstacle for our heroes. I expect him to be absent for the first part of whats going on, until the girls manage to bust Negi out of jail. After that, they start regrouping and figuring a way out of this mess, giving Kotarou a chance to have a dramatic appearence declare that the time has come for them to settle things.

The others end up either staying out of it because they have other enemies to face at the time (more likely) or because Negi asks them to stay out of it (less likely, plus I expect they would rather finish things as soon as possible). They battle, probably to a draw, and Kotarou says alright, that was fun, now im on your side again.

I hope something like that happens, mostly because I want Kotarou to get back a little bit of limelight again, and this is a perfect opportunity for him and Negi to battle, since they are on opposite sides now. It will also be a chance for Kotarou to prove that he isnt as much weaker than Negi as the Tournament arc ended up making him seem.

I agree with your dramatic framing of the fight, but I have little doubt that Negi-san would (should) stomp Kotaro-san flat.

Negi-san almost matched Kotaro-san the last time they fought. Since then, he's been under intense training under Eva-san, and hard training under Ku Fei-san... PLUS the benefits of "extra time" due to teh "resort."

Kotaro-san has likely been training hard, but (a) alone, and (cool.gif in real time.

@Jaceryl: Godwinning much? Ha.

edit: @ kct (below): Yes, you are right, I *completely* forgot about the berserk mode. Even "sanders" (Alberio)-san said that the beast form would present a problem.

The only way Ken could save the Negi vs. Kotarou fight (if it ever happens) is by turning Kotarou into something like Shinn (sorry, he is the closest example I can get, not to mention he's legendary), with his 'I trusted you to do this, and now you have completely screwed my future, so as a result, I GONNA *&#@ING DESTROY YOU THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOUR *&#@ FACE!!!' attitude + massive amounts of Camille-style emo. This way, both of them would have to fight to near-death (IF THAT EVER HAPPENS).

I somehow begin to despise Negi's idealistic ways. Totally.

Chances is that Kotarou is going to pull off a 'the one frame that is worth the entire GSD, even if it's !@#*' on Negi. The legendary stab.
