Queen's Blade, Its got all the right action you want!

So there's apparently a show coming out called Queen's Blade and its based on a tabletop game of some sort. Apparently it also has a decent following and stuff.

But let's get to the real reason this thread is here. Who's the girl you want the ecchi stuff happening to? Personally, I like a little miko myself, but damn that girl who's using the snake for panties. I mean, geezus, that's sick, twisted, and damn hot all at the same time! ;; And for you loli lovers, there's quite a few to choose from that I saw.

Seriously though, are we going to watch this for anything else than that and the all-star cast?

Like really, don't watch it. I want my 24 minutes back. Its so damn close to hentai without actually being hentai and frankly, the only reason I can even assume that all these major seiyuus signed up was because it was a big pay day.

Feel comfortable watching? This is a hentai that pretends its not, and has a worse plot than most out there. ...now that I've read the screenies and blog to know I wasn't actually far off on my watching of the raws.

Yes, I didn't watch the subbed ones and I know no Japanese, but I thought it was gonna be good so I would see how much I could "guess away". Nearly nailed everything with my guessing on what actually happened.

...and I cried.

Though, I will admit at least this show shows its fanservice... Unlike other fan servy shows. That's about the only plus I can give it.

Well, after all the negative comments (even on fansub sites) I decided I should download and watch the first Ep - LOL

Yep - it's crap, trash, absof#*ckinglutely bad that I wont even consider getting Ep 2 to see if it gets better.

I really couldn't give a damn about that fact that they need to constantly shows tits all the time, but when you see a castle open and there's a bunch of soldiers wearing soldier clothes (and no, I don't want them to wear anything else) and meanwhile the girls are all wearing g-strings and not much else (even though they are the powerful ones in battle) you really have to wonder why anyone even came up with the original story or the anime design except if it was for the one reason ... the semi-naked girls ... no story required
Gotta say, that demon almost had me in hysterics the first time she attacked ... OMG that is so damn stupid, that it's hilarious ... as was her demise: immediately reminded me of Negima ...

You know what would be absolutely sad? Is the rest of this show is worthy of the attention it was originally getting? And its this one episode that just *&#@s it over.

Now considering the first episode, the staff that's doing this, and that there always is a "quality" show that hasta suck any given season, I think this will likely not be the above.

I will admit, I might just watch this show because it is entertaining to wonder "ok, so how much worse will this get?".

...also I just realised it after Jaalin pointed it out on RC, but there were some characters that the lip syncing just failed on. That's really, really bad.

I thought the art sucked too, but I'm picky

Yeah, the art is a little too random in places. In some places its near movie quality, in others its not too good.

I actually liked it! It was nice to see something where the whole story can't be figured out in the first episode. Yes I know it will most like be Reina vs the Queen at the end but it is not a guarantee. I also never judge a series by it's first episode (Haruhi anyone) because some series might take a few episodes to get their groove(Lucky Star). I also remember a lot of those same bloggers adoring the Negima Neo anime series.
I like that some of the dynamics between the characters are not always the obvious ones some of the friends should be enemies and some of the enemies should be friends.

Reading all this comments I'm really tempted to watch the first ep.

If you haven't seen it yet don't bother watching the first one subbed because it mght be the only one we see subbed since it looks like none of the stable subbing groups are going to be doing it.

Just type in Queens Blade on tokyotosho.com and there will be a few English subs that come up unfortunately none by any of the currently reliable groups (hence my previous comment).
I did want to adress one of the comments about the armor difference between the men and women. Women cannot fight as well in full armor like men can, women need to use their agility and quickness in order to fight as well as men do. That is not a sexist remark btw it is just that men and women fight differently, even Saber in any of the FSN media does not wear full armor.

i'm still baffled by the cast listing. was this targeted directly at otaku with a seiyuu fetish?

I think the problem most people have with the armor is that it is not really armor, but rather just made to look at.

Even if they are female, the armor must at least look like it would protect you when you get hit by something. Saber's armor from FSN looks more practical in design than the stuff the girl's are wearing in this show.

...don't get me wrong, I like my fan service, but even I'm beginning to wonder...

Though, yes I will agree. They really made sure to show it.

Think about it Leina was a protected princess who after hearing her warrior sisters talk about stuff decides to go out and stop a bandit that has been robbing from her family, she goes out in a peasent dress with a grunt sword that she probably took from the armory to stop the bandit. She encounters a creature that is so far out of her league it isn't funny, winds up getting saved by the bandit she went out to defeat. Listy leaves her like that to humiliate her and teach her a few lessons so there is a story reason for Leina to be left that way.
Btw I never said that I didn't like service but I think there is more to it than just the service.

Makes me laugh that ONLY ONE TV-station is actually showing the uncensored version.

Excessive Fan service turns me off. First it was Rosario+Vampire, which I stopped after ep 4, now this,

Second episode was better than the first, they cut back on the nudity (OP and ED have more now) and started to advance the plot more.

Actually, I went through and rewatched it and I hafta admit that once I got over whole Melona and excessive nudity. It wasn't really as bad as I once thought.

Why did I watch again, because I was wondering if it was just over reaction or not. It certainly was to a degree it is.

And yes, I agree with you jd. At least her being nude all the way makes more sense that its too humiliate her into going over board.

The biggest flaw to this episode is that it is a first episode. This should more be a third or a fourth episode after we are introduced to some of the characters and a little plot is shown to us.

This show is so bad that I just want to keep watching it to see how it could get any worse!

You know what? I agree with Athos. And how much worse it can get is easily by the proportion that they decide to go "screw the plot".

The pacing in the second episode made me wanna scoop out the director's heart out with a dull wooden spoon. Better than the first, but it still drags way too often.

I don't know why, but I'm continuing to watch the train wreck. Or I will be when Episode 3 finally downloads.

First is Tomoe trying on bathing suits, I dont know if that qualifies as tentacles because it is the snake that does it, but it is in something like mud or some kind of sludge.
Btw they do advance the plot as well in there, next episode looks to be one of the first official qualifying matches for the tournament.

Actually a lot of people prefer the censored version so they don't get distracted from the story. It is basically an RPG showing Reina adventuring around and her encounters.
