I guess I got a bit carried away with the over-lap scheme that I use here...
Since when you export the image out, it usually cant be detected... these overruns in the lines... Especially the pointy areas of the hairs..

So the stuff I need to do
1. Change line width...
2. Fix the places you pointed out...
3. add shades/highlights...
4. make the pic at the level of awesome! laugh.gif

Thanks a lot!

A nice improvement on the lines, good job.
The eye outlines do look a pixel too thick as shao said, but that's just being very picky.
And Negi's mouth looks a bit thick too.
Feel free to ignore us on that. =)

The only other thing I can suggest is to try softening the shadows a bit.
You can do that by:
1) Blurring the shadow outlines
2) Using more dark colours on them instead of just plain black/grey.

Keep it up. ^^b

ah! now i know what's wrong....
it's not that the outline is too thick...
but you used black...

well there's really nothing wrong with using black.. but the outlines you used for the others aren't black... which makes it stand out.. in a bad way...

hmmm...
how about this...
the eyes.. i don't think you could do much.. maybe use a lighter shade of black?
then on the nose and mouth, instead of black, use the same way you did the outline of the rest of the image...

@SM - OK those spots I mentioned before ... much better biggrin.gif
I've noticed a few things, now that you've restroked everything thinner:
1) Right ear missing
2) Left ear too big ... yeah it's big in the original also, but not quite as big as yours - yours also looks bigger coz your hair line above her ear starts higher up ... I'd suggest making her ear smaller than the original and it should look OK instead of looking like Mickey Mouse smile.gif
3) The 2 join points on her cheeks (one on each side) should be much smoother
4) Her panties look weird that colour ... and since you changed the shape of the fold, her panties should probably just be visible in the top of the next fold to the left on the pic

... and ... it would be good to add one more thing: some lines running up her dress from the folds - since you can't see them in the manga coz it's black - but it looks odd in the final coloured pic
Also, you can see these lines under her dress (except the one you missed on the left side of the picture) so it would make sense to be able to see them on top (and to add the missing one underneath)

Found something else ...
Negi's scratches are all missing, and you did the front of his shirt different ... a lot less detail ... that's lazy smile.gif
The manga is already pretty plain (black and white) - removing details makes it look a lot plainer ...

... and Negi's hair seems rather too red? ... not sure ...

Wow thats nostaligic the outline reminds me of Dynamic lines that both khell and Agent use. Again I sob sad.gif in 2 years I've been doing this I still can't do lines that
clean and striking.

Nicely done!

Well, I'd guess without even looking, that the answer is no.
Since Simp does so well with the colouring, he usually doesn't need to expend extra effort on the lines smile.gif

I've used dynamic lines in my earlier works one or two but not very noticable.
Cause when i'm done shading it I always tend to blend the outlines with the shade.

Thats why I stop using dynamic lines in outlining except the face. Nowadays when
I'm outlining a pic or image cap. I would just change the orginal reso 72 to 300
then I outline it with 1 pix render brush.

kano and monkey doesn't use khell way in creating dynamic lines that agent
adopted. Yet can still produce the same crisp and sharpness but with a thinner
lines.

Having really nice outlines help in putting base colours easier and neater. Crappy
outline line mine happy.gif tends you to zoom in corners to put in the colours. And like
Kano said I prefer to spend my time colouring rather than fiddling with the paths
with the pen tool smile.gif

which is why i have 2 sets of outlines...
the first one is a single pixel thick, which i used for coloring and selecting sections, while the other one is a thicker outline... which covers the corners that the paint can misses

Heh - I thought the only thing left to do was fix Negi, coz you hadn't done some of his details (scratches and shirt detail) biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
... though I don't seem to have the final pic, the last line art or the manga page on my desktop any more to remind me what was the difference tongue.gif
That version of the line art looks fine to me - as long as you fixed Negi's shirt so it's the same as the original ... as I said, I don't have the files at the moment to check ...

I still think that colour for her knickers looks strange smile.gif
Inside her dress would usually be darker than outside ...
Otherwise, Eva's good ... as before smile.gif

Seriously, play with the colour of her knickers and see what looks good ... seriously, just look at it and think about the colours. I think the first problem there is what appears to be an orange or brown outline? (and of course the fact that the skin around the outline is lighter than the rest ... giving it a glow as monkey said) Maybe the red should be a little darker? Not sure without playing with the colours.
Or if you are unsure, go watch a bunch of nose-bleed anime shows and look at the various colours that look OK.
Or you could try to really excel yourself and find a panty pattern in some picture or show and add that smile.gif
Anyway ... I'll leave that part of your picture without any more comment ... it's up to you if you change it or leave it tongue.gif (but fix the orange/brown outline at least)

Bloody red!?
are you bloody kidding me!?

also, the trick with "bluring shadows" is to use the blur tool and do it manually...
if you use the render, it'll cause a LOT of problems.... as you've already seen

or... put the "hardness" of the brush to zero when you paint your shadows
