Because we don't have a thread for this I decided to make one.

Licensed: Yes, by Viz (Manga)

Summary:

Alot of copyrighted material was used to make it funnier, many referances to other animes like 3x3 Eyes, Sailor Moon, etc...

Currently 10 volumes out in Japan, and 1 Volume out in America.

Animation adaption was confirmed, and I can't wait.

A funny manga full of misunderstandings and the only one who knows about everything is the maid. If you've read it, discuss it, if not, read it then discuss.

you also forget that the manga pokes fun at itself as well!

I would'nt say near, I'd say IS since well I'll just say he's been through alot just so I won't ruin anything for anyone. His reactions are wicked when he "Revives" =P

checked it in anime news network and it turns out that Hayate's Voice ACTRESS is the same with Kaede Nagase...

I've heard the OP.. standard KOTOKO fare. It's rather unusual for her to sing a song that has the same name as the show itself, and the protagonist. ;
It's not that bad.. not great either. Same effect with being and Shakugan no Shana.

The plot however... someone told me it was Keroro Gunsou without the frog aliens.

Sounds fun.

i just caught up to this series. up to episode 4 now. i think this series is definitely a winner. its very hilarious and most of the references to things like pokemon, Sony, and other littie things make this series humorous while the characters keep referencing to the fact that they know that they are in an anime is also funny too. a lot of uniqueness in this series, and i am definitely going to finish it.

i am on volume 5 of the manga. i like it much than the anime. my favorite part so far is when Hayate is about to have a kendo match, and he says "Hiten...". thats hilarious!

i'm more surprissed that the teacher (the student council president's sister) suddenly shouted saito's (RK)

well, im surprised on basically every references to copyrighted materials mentioned in the series. but i have to say that this series is THE craziest manga series i ever read. crazier than NHK even. i still dont understand why Hayate was looking for a mortal blow though....

Because! All butlers MUST have a Mortal blow they can call their own! cause their skilled like that!


The most recent released chapter went out and I just read it, can't wait to see the outcome of the massive school track day D=

must be cool to have a mortal blow... but there is a lot of requirements for a butler. a butler must be funny like a comedian, strong as a warrior, resilient like a 3-feet thick piece of titanium steel, AND..... must be willing to offer his life to his master.... they have it tough....

i think every1 can find that out if they go to animenewsnetwork or wikipedia..... not that big of a surprise or is it ever needed to be stated more than once.

other than that, i love it whenever Shiraishi Ryouko takes the shounen lead roles. one other role that i loved very much is the lead character in Mahoraba.


well, other than mentioning the seiyus, i started collecting the manga. 3 volumes. i already caught up to it. good thing that Viz recently started to release this series.

The Hayate anime (currently) one-ups the manga on the parody side, to the point that it even exceeds Genshiken's rate of crossover scenes. Hell, thanks to Kugimiya Rie, they went from MAR, to Shakugan no Shana, to Full Metal Alchemist, in less than 5 seconds in one parody. They're pretty relentless on the comedy, parody-driven or not.

Still, I need to read more of the manga...

Interesting parody: The scene where the artstyle goes Saint Seiya-esque when Yukiji attempts to stop Hayate from entering Hakuou Academy.

i think they should have left out that dialogue and should have had it done the same way as the manga. that was better becuz all he did was swing the sword to his side and not actually put in all that effort to try and cut up the boulder. that would just show how much more awesome he is as a novice butler.

wow... how annoying episode 10 turned out to be...

1) it's suppose to happen at the same time as episode 8
2) blatant refernces to other animes... LOTS and LOTS of anime... mostly from the seiyuu's OTHER roles.. like how Nagi dressed up like Louise, or that the "demon girl" has large breast, loli face and has an "attack" called "Sumeshi Beam" with her left hand in a V position over her left eye


and.. yes.. she was voiced by Goto Yuko

i think it was kinda obvious to most others.

and i thought it was kinda funny, and didnt make all the references as annoying or anything. the reason why the hayate series is so funny, both manga and anime, is that they refer to other series and real-life companies, games, and etc. without that, hayate wouldnt be such a hit.
