Ok, here's the situation. Savefile's gone (oh no!), and that means our project is gone with it (oh noo!). Apparently they were in the middle of a server change, I can only guess they messed up somewhere, I haven't seen them back up for weeks.

Provided people still have the doujins from the project, I can create a new one (hint-hint, i need suggestions for a site that will store all of this), or we can just continue gathering the new releases like nothing happened

I'd actually like to see a Negima doujinshi that involves a decent plot instead of something that Pariah would smack you silly for. I've seen decent ones for video games, why can't they make one for our favorite series.

Naturally, I'd like one that revolves around Yue.

Well, the doujinshi that we've seen now is some sort of perverted illusions made by artists who are otaku of the series they are redoing themselves.

doujin 同人 refers to fan works, or "amateur creations", doujinshi 同人誌 refers to these creations in paper form (mangas, literature, etc.). There's quite a large number of H doujin works created among the otaku community (because they sell, I suppose), but the word "doujin" (and the derivative doujinshi) by itself, does not refer to sexual contents in any way. Unfortunately, this is another one of those easily misunderstood terms for foreigners, like "hentai".

Doujins that borrow characters or settings from an established series are called secondary creations 二次創作, quite a number of them contain H content too, but interestingly, those that DON'T have sexual contents are the really good ones. (Kaiden comes to mind, a great and fun turn-based strategy game featuring Type-Moon's Tsukihime cast) (And Tsukihime is a doujin itself too...)

The Japanese doujin industry is really interesting in that it's completely self-containing, everyone creates something of their own and goes around buying and supporting each other's things during conventions like Comiket or Revo. Many successful artists/companies' had their humble beginnings like this. Actually, as people already know, that's how Akamatsu himself started out too.

...What was my point? Oh yeah, try not to pass off all doujins as H doujins. Here's an example of a secondary creation (Tsukihime & Fate/stay night) doujin work from Steed-san of STEED ENTERPRISE. (Yes, it was hard to find something that non-Japanese literates can get too ^^; )

Head to main page and you'll see his latest works, including infos on next events (Comiket 68), newest updates, etc. This is a typical personal page for some guy engaged in doujin works (though the word 'doujin' is rarely used among themselves, it's more of an "outsider's word")

The reason most people automatically associate Dojin with Hentai is because that is usually the only kind of Dojins we can find. I actually thought of a great example of Dojins to show as an example, there is a 3 book series of manga books based on Comic Party that are actually dojins. Each book is a collection of shorts featuring the people from Comic Party, and some of the stories are quite good and most of them have the websites of the people who did the story. The stories themselves are completely clean nothing H about them.

Hmm, you know, it's kinda coincidental, last night before I went to bed, I got an offer if I wanted to make a doujinshi (non-H). I write the script, he draws them out. I told him that I would think about it and that I wanted to see some of his work before I made a decision. To be kinda honest, It is my goal to get into the entertainment industry by being a manga creator. Problem is it's too hard to get a job like that in Japan, especially for an american. Only problem is I suck at drawing.

I haven't really found any Negima doujins without H-stuff but maybe I just don't know where to seek. I often try only find good art and let slight H slip.

@Mystic_Vegetto: Those are great news. I hope his a decent artist so your script is shown in good frames.

About the only plot-based doujinshi that I've heard of are from Haibane Renmei, really - most of the other stuff I've seen mentioned, especially with Negima, is H-material at best... and at worst is the type of thing I'd be waving a steel harisen around and beating their 'artists' for ever thinking of the idea. The H-based stuff seems to really collect around harem or shoujo-ai/shonen-ai slanted manga, however, for obvious reasons.

Actually, I'm working on something called "Doujinegi." It's a story about what the class does for Negi on Valentine's Day -- nothing perverted, mind you but I'm trying to go for laughs. I'm planning to post images on the images thread when I'm done -- or should I post them here?
