I dunno. Not much would happen considering that both of them are kinda boring.

What first volume?

The 1st volume of Angelic Days.

It expands on the concept shown in 25 I think. You know the dream Shinji has about haveing a normal life, where Shinji and Asuka are childhood friends.

Ok time to try and revive this thread.

Does anyone think Misato really loved Kaji??

Or do you think she used him for info?

Or was the info she gained from Kaji just a side benifit of a romantic relationship?

I think the relationship began as a matter of convinience on Misato's part. But it developt into a love for her.

So has anyone read NGE Angelic days?

I've read the first 2 volumes and it's pretty good imho.

It's basic premise is that Shinji & Asuka are childhood friends. Rei is a transfer student who secretly works for Nerve. And the biggest suprise imo is that Kaworu is a classmate and friend of the maincast.

@mods. sorry for the bump.

i got the first volume of Angelic Days i love it.

i just wanna put my two cents in on something from the last 2 or 3 minutes of The End of EVA. if u look carefully u'll realize Asuka has brown eyes like Misato. also if u bothered to notice the areas of her body that are bandaged (her left eye and right arm) are the same areas where Rei was injured when Shinji meet her. what i believe is that out of Misato, Rei and Asuka Shinji loved Asuka the most THOUGH he still loved Rei and Misato. so when he and Asuka returned from the LCL she had Misato's eyes and Rei's injuries. i'm guessing this was Shinji's way of keeping both of them in his heart or something.

Heh he definetly loved Asuka alot. Though I'm not so sure he loved Misato. Well not romanticly anyway. I think he saw her more as a sister than anything else. As for Rei, yeah I think he had romantic feelings for her. Though not as strongly as his feelings for Asuka.

Misato was more of a motherly figure for him and Asuka. While Rei has the sisterly relationship going with him. Asuka was meant as the love interest.

Though she could never admit she had feelings for him and vise versa. dry.gif

probably one of the wierdest moments in EVA is when Shinji cops a feel of Rei. and since Rei is a clone of Yui he basically coped a feel on his mom @.@ though the most tramatizing moment in the series i think is the flashback of when Asuka sees her mom after she's hung herself

Yup both sceens were icchi. Thats why I never understand the ShinjixRei pairing. It's way to icchi to contemplate imo.

Personally I thought Asuka was jealus of both Misato and Rei cause of their seemingly close relationships to Shinji. Though she only displayed her dislike toward Rie.

I kinda think the only reason she wanted to stay with Misato was cause she could be around Shinji.

Asuka hated Misato and Rei since episode 9. but she mostly dislikes Rei in my opinion because of how Rei is the exact opposite of her. as for the ShinjixRei pairing it was purposely kept at an arms length not because of Rei's lack of emotional development or Shinji's fear of being hurt but because if Shinji had ended up with Rei it would've been wrong since she's Yui's clone. i actually wonder how they cloned Yui if she was absorbed by Unit 01

Knowing that creep Gendo dry.gif he more than likely had several blood samples hidden away or something. As for Rei and Asuka. She mainly disliked her cause she sees Rei as a lifeless doll. Rei doesn't develop much of a personality until the last 8 episodes. By this time she's developt some feelings for Shinji. Though weather their romantic or not isn't very clear imo.

NEVER!!!! laugh.gif

Eva was meant to be weird from the get-go. For it to have a "normal" ending would be unthinkable. tongue.gif

It'd be like Negima & LH without fanservice. ninja.gif ninja.gif

Honestly though I disliked how the 2 movies ended it. I liked the original ending much more. happy.gif

G'rr disliked the last two episodes... It was so crappy and so boring.

G'rr would've liked Rei if she were like the one in the finals scenes... and Misato was they're teacher and stuff... G'rr wished the series continued from their. sad.gif

Well if you've read Angelic Days it sort expands on what happened in 25. You remember Shinji's dream where he and Asuka where childhood friends? Well thats what Angelic Day's is about. They still have to fight Angels though. dry.gif

Actually, they would have had to have cloned Rei before Yui died. Shinji, Asuka, and Rei are all the same age, as are all the Eva pilot candidates. Their birthdates collectively fall within 9 months after the Second Impact, and since Shinji was around to see his mother die, Rei must have been alive too. Or at least been cloned already. Gendo really did love Yui, and it was that loss that caused him to go psycho. He went through the entire Human Instrumentality Project so that he could see Yui again.

The difference between Rei and Asuka is that Shinji loves Rei while he lusts after Asuka. There is a difference.

I read the first book of Angelic Days but I didn't buy it. I haven't bought a manga book in like years.

True their is a difference. However in what manner do you believe he loves her?

Does he love her romanticly or does he love her in a brotherly way?

I think he "loves" her in a brotherly way and not romanticly.

While he lusts after Asuka at the begining, I believe it develops into love at the end.

This of course is just mho.

Actually from what i heard in the audio commentary of the movies they were made only because Evangelion's creator got death threats. ninja.gif People didn't like it because there was no climactic battle only alot of psychosis crap that people didn't understand. though i'm sure trying to understand that stuff would most likely drive you out of your gourd.

Thats kinda my point. From what I heard people didn't like understand episodes 25 & 26 so they made a huge stink about it. In response Hideki Anno-sensei created the movies to please people but made it so they didn't understand it as a way of saying f*ck you.

Yeah, it was mainly just to appease the fans. It was supposedto be open ended, and they made the movies only as a possible ending. There is almost any concievable ending, and a lot of fan ones llike Evangelion-R

Resurection time. tongue.gif

For those of us that care the names of three out of the four Eva movie's have been released.

Movie one- Jo
Movie two- Ha
Movie three- Kyu

It seems the first movie follows events of the first 6 or so episodes. It's stated that Operation Yashima appears in this movie. So it's possible that the first movie covers the events of the first 8 or 9 episodes.

It should be interesting to see. Plus I'm curious as to what's gonna happen in the fourth movie.

Well I'm not sure how finished they are. From the artical I read Gainax is being rather tight lipped about it.

Just noticed this but the first film is scheduled for a September release. The second is scheduled for some time next year. So by this time next year the third could be released in Japan.

And it's anybodies guess when they'll be stateside.

Even if they don't come stateside, the movies will probably be fansubbed.

I have read Angelic Days up to Volume 4, Chapter 1. That was almost 2 years ago that I last read it. I read them in September of 2005. But I stopped because I couldn't find it on the internets. Now that I have been reminded, I will probably begin an epic journey of finding fansubs of it.

Yeah they FINALLY released Volumes 9 and 10 of the original Evangelion manga. I already had the first 8, but they stopped after that for several years (I bought them in middle school). And of course they'll be fansubbed. Something as popular as Evangelion is going to be subbed no matter what.

I really don't think it is. It has just the right amount of drama/tension in it imo. Especially between Rei and Asuka.

Though I would've liked to see some of what happen between Asuka & Shinji dureing the time skip. Them and Rei too.
