EDIT: Ok, chapter 180 of the manga came with high quality scans of the actresses that will represent the classroom 3-A in the Negima! Live action series.

Anyway, not bad at all. More than half of them are recognizeable.

The only one I believe they COMPLETELY DESTROYED was Zazie. Look at zazie! That ISN'T Zazie!!!!!!!

On the brighter side, I'm amused that Asakura and Kugimiya DO look good.

I'm assuming this is just a preview and these are not the "final versions" of them. They are just revealing the actresses. There's no reason why someone would NOT put make-up on Zazie or antennas on Chachamaru.

Most of them look good, IMO.

Pro: they got Sakurako right (don't ask me why)

Con: Everyone else is....WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: OK, not everyone else. Admittedly looking again, the only others that I like there are Kazumi, Konoka and Satomi.

Everything doesn't look too bad, but it's not the greatest photo so...all could change in a good-quality picture.

Seeing as I don't mind Live-Actions (unless they are completely god-awful with barely any budget at all, which I'm certain Negima won't be...) I'm not scared and actually quite excited.

Ayaka looks like her seiyuu. (But obviously younger) The twins don't look that young and Konoka looks...well I expected her to look cute...

I'm glad Sakurako's hair is right (looks pretty too ) Everyone else is either alright or fail (though mainly on the fail side, though I'm willing to let that slide for the moment before I make the final judgment.)

1. Sayo - Reminds me of the girl from Fatal Frame 2. Maybe that's why she fits Aisaka, Add this girl a transparency effect and voila, pretty ghostly.
2. Yuuna - Look at the size of her head! XD
3. Kazumi - Eh, this hairstyle reminds me more of a cotton-candy than a pineapple... I hope it's just the bad resolution >_>
4. Yue - I understand that her hairstyle is difficult to copy, but I think they should have chosen an actress with MUCH MORE forehead than that.
5. Ako - Doesn't look much like Ako, but she's cute.
6. Akira - She looks stupid! LOL! Too smiley to be Akira. The hairstyle is good though.
7. Misa - 10/10. Looks a lot like Misa.
8. Asuna - 10/10!! Asuna's clone. She must be also a good actress, you know, for being chosen to be the main character.
9. Misora - ROFL!!!!!!
10. Chachamaru - As long as they add the antennas, it's ok.
11. Madoka - All cheerleaders are perfect, Madoka is not an exception.
12. Kuu Fei - Very chinese. Reminds me of Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken. Great choice IMO.
13. Konoka - Konoka's design is so common and simple that could fit almost any actress. This one in particular looks nice.
14. Haruna - Perfect! Another one that gets my 10/10
15. Setsuna - LOL!!!! It's not perfect, but couldn't be much better than this, could it?
16. Makie - BIG FOREHEAD! This one should be Yue.
17. Sakurako - 10/10! Do I have to say anything? I just hope she acts hyperactive and happy as Sakurako is.
18. Mana - She looks tall and it looks like she has very long hair. As long as the acts serious and cool like Mana (and hopefully has a husky voice), I'm going to like it. Too bad her hairstyle makes her look more like Misa than Mana...
19. Chao - Same as kuu. Very chinese, hairstyle is perfect.
20. Kaede - Perfect eyes. I just wish she had more hair. Anyway, I liked her...
21. Chizuru - Eh? Not much to do with her...
22. Fuuka - Looks a lot like her! And what's even more important, she looks young.
23. Fumika - Same as above.
24. Hakase - LOL!!! Looks like an old picture of my aunt I found once. (If she reads this, she kills me)
25. Chisame - Chisame's another character that is defined by her acting, so I don't care if she doesn't look like her. I just wonder why they didn't put glasses on her.
26. Evangeline - As long as her evil-child atmosphere is present, it's ok. Doesn't look like Evangeline but she is just as scary as her =P
27. Nodoka - Ugly >_>
28. Natsumi - Another one with pigtails? Doesn't look like Natsumi...
29. Ayaka - I can see Ayaka's aura on her. Good choice IMO
30. Satsuki - There are fatter actresses.
31. Zazie - I got REALLY frustrated with this one. Zazie should be the most outstanding girl, not the most "normal" one. 0/0 for her if they don't do something about this.

Apart from some, I actually quite like it
It's pretty good for LA I'd say (esp manga->LA)

ahother strange thing is Chachamaru is not looks like a robot, just ordinally human....... and zazie is really beautiful girl, not like circus player face.

Eh, even if this is just a pre-pic without make up or any type of special effects, I still think they should have used the original seiyuu's for this project...

Sure the original seiyuu's look almost absolutely nothing like their characters, but at least we can relate them to 3-A by their voices...

People need to lighten up and loosen a little.

I guess, I mean of course, if the live action ends up sucking, we could always laugh at it for comical relief in times of stress...

I mean, heck, I love the Sailor Moon series and all, but their live action sucked as much as good looking the actors for the senshi were...

I just watched the lame transformation/attack scenes when I was in a bad mood and it had me forgetting about all the bad stuff that happened that day in an instant...

Same could be said for this live action, so eh, I guess we have one thing to look forward to...

Though I still have some sort of thought that they might end up turining this into some sort of weird talk show where the "actors" end up talking about their characters and what they think the manga and anime has done for the franchise as a whole or something weird like that...

I'm gonna watch it despite the fact that it'll suck donkey balls. At the very least I can know just HOW bad it can get. Hell, I watched all 84 episodes of Naruto Filler hell, I feel like I can take on anything!

I mean, instead of crying on how they butchered the series, I'd probably end up laughing at how bad it is to make a constructive way to blow off steam or stress...

So, it's not all a big failure just yet...

Though I'd actually probably give some credit if the original seiyuu's were to act as their characters...

Mainly because that'll give the producers/Ken more reason to release more songs...

Let me put it this way: Imagine a bunch of small arcs about 2-6 episodes long featuring the same thing over and over. Tsunade sends someone from Team 7, Team 8, Team 10 or Team Gai (because they're the only ninjas that exist in the village) to some small made up ninja village where they meet some person in need of help and Naruto inspires him/her with his coolness. They always end up meeting the Daimyo of that village or something. Then there's an evil ninja leader who likes to be mean and believes that power is better than friendship (it's like the same villain over and over). Naruto and his friends beat the evil ninja up and Naruto ALWAYS uses Rasengan to finish the guy off. Add to the fact that all the ninjas use the same moves OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. And never try to do any new moves (Hinata's an exception because she doesn't use any moves besides Byakugan which Neji already has). Also, it seems that the other villages are stuck in the Feudal Era or something, while Naruto and his buddies are always in modern-looking duds.

The real killer is that it's been going on for the good part of two years. Recycled plot, recycled villains, same moves and Naruto's in EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. I've lost a lot of respect for Naruto because of those fillers...but on the flipside I've actually GAINED respect for Bleach because of it's fillers.

Actually, I don't think they'll be able to spit out the same thing as the original manga, the neo manga, or any anime adaptations made of it...

Personally, I think it'll be a totally new storyline (Or a totally new take on the original storyline...) altogether...

So, we won't have to worry about seeing recycled fillers or anything dealing with fillers for that matter of fact...

The selections aren't bad at all.

In order to look like a character, what's most important is the acting. It doesn't matter if the actress is not a clone of the character, what really matters is the way they act.

And again, there's no reason why they wouldn't put make-up on Zazie or antennas on chachamaru (as well as those things on Mana's hair), so I don't believe these are the 'final versions' of the characters.

Yeah, but what are the chances that the actresses will even be good at acting as their characters at all?

I'm pretty sure none of them actually went to seiyuu school (Yes, apparently, something like that does exist...) and I'm pretty sure they signed up just because they might have been big Negima fans themselves who wanted to get in on the fun just for the publicity...

I don't know, acting-wise, I have a bad feeling about it...

Well, if it's the case they are really fans of Negima, then they must be able to understand their character's personality...

I guess they would be able to understand their characters' personalities, but that doesn't really help on their acting skills...

I wonder what was the basis on choosing who they did for each of the characters?

Hopefully, it wasn't just an open audition to any person who'd take the role...

I mean, of course, they'll only pick the best out of the best, but that doesn't really tell you much in terms of getting good actresses...

BTW, what's the percentage of Japanese female Negima fans anywho?

G'rr would rather have their hair dyed or them have those beautifully-colored wigs cosplayers use... All of them having black hair is even worse than the anime adaptation of the manga! Bleck!

And yes, Chachamaru is suppose to look like a robot with her antenna that seems to be missing in her live-action counterpart.

People are already dismissing it on a single bad looking poor scan image. No sign of a script or any art design, or even costume, let alone any word as to the direction the producers intend to take.
