QUOTE (Hata @ Mar 30 2008, 07:06 AM)
-- the 30 seconds MW short in OAD #3 serves as promo, if the sales are good, there will be additional sequel, or even movie. (if the sales are bad then no more anime,)

This is intense. It's a threat that will boost sales. I want to see another anime series but if it doesn't follow the manga plot in any way then I'm not interested.

Thanks for the infos Hata and kirbypopstarhero...

Heh, a new Happy Material eh?

That should be enjoyable...

BTW, since it's following the manga, you guys think certain characters won't make it into the OAV's?

Weren't there a handful of classmates that didn't appear in those eps?

Indeed, a decently animated MANGA FOLLOWING 2nd Season would rock.

That would be cool since we're all dying to see an animated festival arc...

But I'd say that they should do an epic series covering the entire manga so far...

Saying that since a lot of people said they felt they were robbed of a nicely animated Kyoto arc...

I think both can be used...

I've seen both used, so I assume it's entirely on how the person likes to refer to them...

Yeah, they're essentially the same, although I see OVA more often...or was it OAV I see more? Meh, they use the same letters so I don't make the distinction.

OAV and OVA are interchangeable, in this case, use what Ken said, OAD,

it is the "hope" of Ken, that if these sells well, there might be a movie release combined the 3 discs + new materials, then after that sequel of the magic world, there is no way he will go back and do the beginning of Negi going to Mahor, because it had been done twice already.

the difference between this OAD and the previous two season is there is no sponsorship, only the readers who like the original manga will buy it, and it is a pre-order system so they know in advance how many copy they can sell, Ken stress again and again it will follow the manga,

the promo for the MW, in Ken's own words, are teaser so "if you want to see more, the support this manga! if the sales are bad, then there is no sequel"

and for characters who don't appear in those chapters, the OAD #3 will have original story cover them in part B.

That's true...

But it would be nice...

Oh, that's good...

Heh, I guess we no longer have to worry about Rainyday getting no air time... (But I'd still predict it'll be minimal nonetheless...)

Thanks for the clarifications...

Japanese disks are Region 2. Unless the DVD plays disks of any region or the DVD itself is marked ALL, I don't think that will work.

If you have two DVD drives in your computer you can set one of them to Region 2 so that you can play both DVD types. You can only change DVD region a certain number of times though (4 or 5?) and it's coded into the firmware of the drive every time you change, so you can't just go back and forth with one drive. Bonus is that with Region 2, you get access to European DVDs as well.

Run mplayer on Linux (or winblows) and then you can play any DVD ...
(mplayer is a free media player ... so those of you who prefer to pirate may not want it tongue.gif)

Edit: also I'm pretty sure VLC also works on winblows (another free media player on Linux)

YES!!!!!!

AnyDVD is probably one of best must-have apps if you view with a computer. You can tell it to lie to your computer about region coding, to bypass all the forced ad/preview crapola getting popular, remove BD coding from bluray disks, and similar control codes from HD. Store your CSS keys, etc. And the settings are nearly all in drop down menus, so changing them are the matter of a literal handful of mouse clicks.

And that's just the viewing functions of the app. What it enables you to do in the way of backing up media is.....impressive....

Sounds interesting.

A good manga-story adaptation, with some decent animation, less pure-fanservice moments, and Kotarou finally animated?

Definately sounding pretty good so far!

If you can find some way to zoom in, you can tell her right eye is definitely green. In the deepest colored portion of her left eye, it looks like there's a fair amout of green as well, but that's probably just a compression artifact due to the small size of the picture (maybe from blending with the black of the pupil, which will often cause green or red artifacts), as the lighter surrounding area has definitely got a bluer tint to it. It's two different colors. Not as noticeable (read: jarring) a difference as with the original promo animations (this is a good thing) or even the figures they use for Negima Girls Chronicles, but more like what we've seen on the covers of the manga volumes (again a good thing).
