Sekirei, Wow...

Filler? I wouldn't call that a filler.
Starts with a flashback to what must be part of the original Sekirei vs Human battles ... then more of the usual house fun with an Ashikabi having 4 Sekirei lovers wives b&d masters partners ... also a failed attempt to escape by another (minor) Sekirei and her partner ... more MBI Sekirei squad discussions ... even one of them appearing on Minato's residence roof at the end
Yeah there were a few flashbacks - but to not have any would be rather unexpected to me ...

Glad this is finally back with Season 2
Actually the beginning was very reminiscent of the beginning of Season 1 ...

As for what season 2 will be ...
OK I was most likely wrong - seeing the wiki comments about Sekirei - then maybe Stage 2 is all that Season 2 will be about.
I wouldn't have thought getting the last % of Sekirei's winged would be that big a deal ... but then again since it is the 2nd stage and the 3rd stage doesn't happen until that is complete ... and I certainly don't expect an end to the story before the manga gets near the end ... maybe that is the Aniplex 'plan' (not MBI ) - one season per stage.

OK, so I went and found ALL the chapters and started reading.
Well the very first chapter ... Musubi being winged straight away ... was way better in the anime - way better - the manga seemed too quick.
But the TV idea in the anime was silly - the manga made more sense
But - as usual - I'm glad they aren't exactly the same - boring if they are - but they are a little too similar ...
OK, I'll stop the comments there - back to reading.

And in case anyone was wondering ... Ep 1 has been subbed also.

Im eagerly waiting for Minato to obtain the wind and fire element sekireis...

I stopped at Chapter 51/52 so as not to spoil Season 2 for me

Chapter 51 is the bridge and a bit different to the end of the anime ...
and shows a winging that should hopefully happen early in Season 2 - so already a spoiler

I'll continue reading the manga in another 3 or 4 months when the anime finishes ... and then catch up to the end of Season 2

I like Musubi , she's a type of character that I often like - though her boobs are too big, they look silly
(but I guess almost all the Sekirei's boobs are too big)

Nice fight scenes, loved the irony, and Benitsubasa is both unlucky and hilarious.

Anyway, looks like we might get to see the scenes that should have happened on the bridge in the next few episodes.

At least one event is breezing () its way into the next episode.

Check out Kazehana's thigh when she's bending over Minato.
You can tell that the studio doing this show has done adult stuff.

Like I said last ep, this has completely jumped ship from the manga, and that fine as long as they keep the lvl of filler down. This might even work out for the best since given the way the manga's paced they wouldn't be able to get to the, imo, good arc with their ep count.

My take on it is, they need to show events that should have happened on the bridge, but didn't. And as long as they keep up the current quality of the episodes, I'm not complaining.

LOLed at Minato's out of character comment in the preview of Ep 3:
"All right! I caught a Kazehana!"
(yeah of course I couldn't tell exactly what he actually said in the raw)

Watched ep 2. Kazehane will be winged in ep 3 yey!

And yeah that last part is out of minato's character

"let's get kazehane" is what I understood in that part

Was watching the first season on Youtube yesterday and saw the part where Tsukiumi first met "Kagari".

Damn, the group I'd probably prefer for this hasn't for 2 weeks and can't for another 2 weeks at least ... oh well ... not really sure how good they are either but better than most of the others at least

Yes he is clearly #5 Mutsu - also in the opening Ep 1 flashback, where that picture is, just before the OP (though they don't stand in the exact same positions)

... and in Ep 4 that also seems to certainly be him with Mikogami.

Then I guess Miya's husband (Ep 1 09:03) just looks like him and I guess didn't come to earth with her.

Miya's husband, Asama Takehito, is a specialized Tuner which "fine-tuned" all of the awakened Sekirei(#1 - #5) during the invasion of Kamikura Island.


It also seems that it was him that gave Miya her "oni" aura.
*He's talking w/ Seo on the Phone BTW, and the "house" they are talking about is the current Izumo Inn.


The man that "humanified" the strongest Sekirei in the world, so much that Miya actually threw away her sword, the "Totsuka no Tsurugi", and settled down. Though it still remain to be seen as to why or how he died. Some leads would be Seo shouting that he wont forgive Minaka for letting Takehito "die" during the first fight of the 3rd Stage hints that the MBI CEO has some connections pertaining to his death... If so, is Miya just bottling up her rage/thirst for vengeance or such against Minaka?

On a different note,
I am beginning to wonder why or how MBI big-wigs suddenly had their hair turn white...

Tsukiumi was hilarious in this episode. Same with Akitsu's "...I forgot to put them on."

As to how far they'll take this season, given that Homura's winging is likely going to be either next episode or the episode after...I'm not too sure where they'll be able to find a good part to stop. Maybe just before the big Third Stage fights begin?

Damn speed subbers. Quality over quickness, people, quality over quickness. Or at least some understanding of the English language!

Moving on, latest chapter was nice. Funny bit with Matsu, Kagari's (NOT) jealous of Kazehana, and... oh crap. Poor communication kills, people.

I've always liked that junk #, too bad this is only gonna be 12-13 eps there's some really interesting stuff about their time on the island that they're gonna have to gloss to rush us to what I believe to be the battle under the overpass(what I believe is the season/series capper) cause there's alot to cover there. Not to mention Seo's fight and the stuff about the jinki.

Well ANN says 13/14 episodes and since Season 1 was 12 - I'd expect this to be similar (13/14) and then to have a 3rd Season much later, at least ... maybe more that just a Season 3, depending upon the manga?

As for where they will stop this season ... I don't care ... and I don't want to know in advance either

Anyway, Ep 6 looks like it could be a lot of fun
But Ep 5, getting them all together and then ending it ... didn't like that

As for speedsubs - god damn can they be crap ...

Well, ep 6 is over and Minato's finished doing Homura.

Nice couple of battle scenes, and plenty of cute girls. Next ep'll be Matsu giving Minato a whole bunch of info on the past.

So I just tortured myself with a crap avi speed sub of Ep 7 in something that I think was supposed to resemble English ... but failed ...

I'm not sure what to think about the direction this is going. Uzume wasn't outed as "veil" until after Minato's match, and to top it off, Matsu didn't know Chiho was in a hospital, much less which hospital.

Like I said, I'm not sure what to think. If they do a third season, this could work, but if they plan to just end the Sekirei anime here and now.....

Whatever - that's the manga story (that I certainly don't want to know before I've watched the anime) and anyway - since the manga isn't finished - little chance of the anime finishing with a short season (and only 4 or 5 more episodes to go) unless it suddenly loses popularity and they want to kill it ...

Ep 9 - Mud Wrestling Among other things
... and Yukari turns out to be the pervert - not Minato

I'm sure she'd see it as "skinship" but let's leave that aside, lol.

I also wonder where they're going her, this is an ecchi battle shounen so usually the last ep is a conclusion to a fight but I can't see them dragging Uzume and the red shirts Higa's gonna send/Musubi-Tsukiumi fight on for 4 eps.... still hopefully we'll get to see Tsukiumi's norito animated.

Taking the latest chapter into account, perhaps this really can work. Since Minato would know Chiho personally, *mumble mumble*.....

So, if they do have it, I'm guessing the third season's going to show the Third Stage. Oh God what's her smile going to be like animated? It was bad enough this episode.

... and finally we get some real interaction with the other points of the compass ...
