Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, A school idol's secret of otakuism

Welcome to the summer season and one of AQS-Anime fansub division's new projects. This will be the discussion thread for the show itself. We are looking forward to this series and hope you guys will like it.

For all you fans of Mamiko Noto fans out there (Nodoka Miyazaki), she is the voice of the lead female character in this series, so definitely something to look forward to right from the start.

Just saw ep1, and i lol'ed when the supposed "perfect" girl is discovered to be a potential otaku, but based on the last mins of ep 1, it seems to be only an ice breaker for a romance plot, i don't mind the romance as long as there's still some comedy

subbing this one too? the first ep was nice.

MAMIKO NOTO?!

When I watched the first ep, I debated with myself who Haruka-chan's voice is...
Seems like it really is her...

My head hurts, I was watching this with Sekirei too...

Seems like AQS is stepping up the pace... with the subbing dept.

Shw33t, and to think i was worried about it when i couldnt find any infomation on who was subbing it before.

From what ive seen of the 1st episode RAW, its pretty much what i expected it to be.

I`m holding back from downloading the episode subbed by 2 other groups.
I want to see aQuastar`s version. Please hurry.

Oh the second episode has been aired on Japanese tv

Episode 4 Summary Opinion

Episode 4 seems to be proving itself effective in maintaining a story that works. I’m quite impressed actually that the show finally found the 3rd gear at the right time, if it gone into episode 4 at the same tempo of 3, I would’ve stopped watching. Instead of continuing with the plot, it went into a sideline episode. With the minor dislike for the mika fanservice, and the subtle pantsu shots, The series has actually decided to try moving its fuel source from fanservice to moe.

What worries me is this; just how much more moe can Haruka get? There is a limit no matter how you would deny otherwise. Therefore, in anime; there are two paths you can go with that. Continue going further moe, and then drop the consistency in the character (to the point of blowing her character down to stock stereotype class), and then you get so use to the moe output that it almost the show suddenly becomes boring.

The other option is dropping off the moe for an episode or 2 and replacing it with either a serious line, and a chance for haruka and yuuto to show they can be dedicated serious people (I buy airhead in social sense, but her book-smart image is harmed if she keeps this up) or the more “trendy” path of over-killing on fanservice (which this show shouldn’t really be considering). In any case, how they’ll address this ill be most interested in.

I’ll be interested in what happens next, this show is seriously making me wonder weather it’s trying to setup a new trend, or just a diamond out of the crap recently seen.

I would have rolled on the floor laughing if Haruka blurted out that she was cosplaying Konoe Fumina... Instead of shana...

It would have had a better impact, If you know what I mean...

I am a bit behind on this series so I have just seen episode 2 and I loved haruka's reaction to seeing yaoi.

I'm also behind (have three, but only seen two, and still awaiting for the AQS keepers), and two observations-

Haruka completely blows the Moe scale

The dance in the end credits... GAH ANOTHER ADDICTING DANCE!

... what is it with animes and lovable dances these days?

I've watch episode 5. Looks like Haruka has a love rival now

Yeah well Shiina and Yuto bumped into each other for the 3rd time.

Haruka being naive of what's going on is moe too. ~_~

At the very least Yuto is a better male protagonist than many other series have done, a big plus in my book...

Finally started watching this (waited for AQS), and it's damn cute.

I especially loled when I heard the teacher's voice (it's Yoshinoya-sensei!).

This anime hits me hard because I can understand how it is to be looked upon by others for watching anime.

It may be that I've only watched up to ep3 (AQS), but I found the male lead too...perfect.

He always does/says the right things at the right time, and I can't find any glaring weaknesses.

Also, I facepalmed when they showed the flashback where the boy (three guesses who >_>) gives loli-Haruka the anime mag.

Uhhh only episode 7 has aired so far, so presumably you mean that But yeah this is great. It shouldn't be too long before we can bring you episode 4.

I liked the Kana Ueda joke in episode 4.
