Which Emulator?

You are asking such a vague thing!
With such a vague name eyebrow1.gif

PS? DS? NEO GEO? PS2? Be specific!

"Sierra One" vague? huh.gif

Yeah there are all sorts of emulators.
You mean in general, or just consoles, or some other sorts, or a specific one?

My kids like to play the N64 emulator on the PC coz it doesn't need to switch on the TV and rustle through all the cartridges and also find sometimes that the cartridge wont work without persuasion ... though, the emulator sometimes plays up a bit with some games also ...

For me, I don't coz either I buy the console/handheld or I really couldn't be bothered with it.
Even emulators like Mame I find really nothing more than nostalgia, which doesn't keep my interest tongue.gif

I believe we've all used emulators...this topic really has little use. It seems like you're trying to create a discussion topic for emulators that one might have for a console, or even a game. Unfortunately, Emulators don't have much to talk about. Perhaps which works for what game, and if there are any out yet for the Saturn.

However, I'll humor you. I've used PC-based emus for DOS, MAME, NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, GB, GBC, GBA, and DS. I have also used DS-based emus for SNES, GB, GBC, and GBA. I've used PSP-based emus for NES, SNES, N64, PS1, GB, GBC, and GBA. I've used Xbox-based emus for NES, SNES, N64, and PS1. I've used PS2-based emus for SNES. I've used Wii-based emus for SNES and GBA.

There you go.

What happened to AQS... =_= we used to have a better newbie reception back in my time...

Eh, I always used emulators of all sorts... specially nintendo ones (NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBA), even though I owned all of these...

Re-playing the games (and playing the ones I hadn't the opportunity to buy back in that time) is awesome. In the GBA case, I've played a LOT of GBA games only using emulators, but I never bought any of them... I actually owned no more than 3 or 4 games in my GBA...

But I've got a huge bad luck with saves. all times I format my computer I forget to make back-ups of them. Some games like Banjo-Tooie (which I owned and finished twice) I already downloaded the rom twice to re-play, but I never had the chance to finish it in an emulator because I lost the save both times (and in both times I was already half-way through the game...)

huh.gif as I recall, the Grr attacked me and forced me into a saber costume.

And I've failed to get anything more advanced than GBA working. I didn't realise an NDS one works.

I remembered that, sadly. Anyways, we had smarter newbies back in the day before we did any scanlations. Oh the simplier times.

Back on topic, there are a bunch of emulators for the various systems but my set of morals says to not emulate anything beyond the time of N64 since the games are readily available if you know where to look. Personally, I only emulate arcade game because arcade kits are so expensive and take up a lot of space.

I didn't say I wasn't a noob, I'm saying I was a hell of a lot better of a noob than TUM or any other newer ones. Besides, I had age fighting against me too. I'm still pretty young.

Hey, we all had times when we acted like "n00bs" dry.gif

It's just that reserved people tend to embarrass themselves less, as they learn from other's mistakes.
But it's almost unforgiveable that ignorant ones just don't read the fine print, and end up asking unnecessary questions.

I'm 16, had a few years of experience posting in Forums, and am still learning how to be more friendly.

I think the absence of Esper is making everything go out of place
