My money is on that, Elsee's sister is somehow apart of Vintage.

Another thing tugging at me is the possibility of the *new* girl being the fleshed version of Chief Dokuro... And that she has connections to how and why hell has two states(new/old).

Seriously guys, ever since this thread started, no one is even slightly interested in Elsee's supposedly IMBA sister?

A coup in Hell- who'da thought? At first impressions it looks like that a currently unknown faction took the opportunity to take control of New Hell after the fall of Vintage. Or more ominously... what if Vintage turned the tables on the Constitutional Ministry of New Hell and framed the chief, making it look like he was the head conspirator. If they can't reopen Old Hell, why not create their version of New Hell?

I`ve had suspicions about Elsea since chapter 1, actually no ever since Haqua told Keima that using Love to capture spirits was way too risky as it could potentially break the host.

Elsea suggested using love or rather Chief Dokuro did.

To the point I`ve suspected Elsea for a long LONG time.


But I am quite interested in Chief Dokuro, she was Vintage`s leader(supposedly) yet she helped Haqua.

Still this arc is known as Jupiter.
Could Jupiter be another Goddess?

I meant Elsee's only-mentioned-once-sister-that-was-supposedly-amazing.
But, if Elsee indeed is a part of Vintage, just bidding her time acting as an air head... well, that would be scary...

Considering we`ve known for nearly 200 chapters yeah it would be, but I just can`t see her like that, you no we`ve all seen her especially with her as Kanon and all.
There is no denying that she maybe an enemy, I wonder if Keima has considered this possibility himself......he may have.

Now that you mention it Elsea`s supposed older sister who was mentioned from the beginning has yet to make an appearance.

I know this is a fictional manga but do you guys think that those girls illusion or not got angry at Keima too randomly and quickly?

I sincerely doubt a single boy inside a supposed all girls school would have given that kind of reaction.

Its obvious from the first time sure but not guaranteed, the 2nd time essentially proved that to be the rules 100%

I have to admit though, the Goddesses not giving more info to Keima even if he smart enough to figure out what to do is still silly and risky.

Though I am curious as to whether this past Dokuro is human or not?

It would essentially prove that non-horned devils were originally human.

But if you read the chapter, it's obvious that chibi-Keima didn't until it was almost too late.

BTW, Sayo_Guardian, were you the one who had problems with time travel theories?

I had to extract the URLs out of the spoiler tags to see the strips... obviously the author wasn't conversant with timey wimey.

Anyway I was looking at explaining the Dokuro paradox by time travel, but I think I've worked out something that doesn't invole time travel... well time travel which doesn't involve travelling throught time faster than one second per second. Gotta cook it first.

I love time-travel stories.
Specifically the old interacting with new and vice-versa.
Nagasarete Airantou would be an example of this, no time-travel.

But yeah, Dokuro may be involved with the Goddesses since they knew about the item she left behind after her supposed death.

Why does Tsukiyo have virtually no screen-time?

The OVA episode next month has been confirmed that both Tenri and Diana will be played by the same seiyuu.

Also it will feature the anime debut of Ryo Asama and Nora.

To those who don`t remember Ryo, he was the useless guy who pretty much saved Keima from Miss I like to cut myself at the very last second.

OVA comes out next month.

OK, here's something I've put together. It covers everything I know except for the chapters between 152 and the School Festival concert, because I haven't read that part of the story yet.

Now we already know that the goddesses implanted themselves in girls ten years ago, after the contained the runaway souls outbreak. We know that from the example of Keima's childhood friend, Tenri, that they implanted themselves when their hosts were children.

We also know that the target of Keima's attention, Dokuro-chan (to differenciate her from chief Dokuro), is reborn as a baby whenever she dies, and that the globes that both Keima and Dokuro-chan carry show the number of lives left to Dokuro-chan, before she presumably passes on.

We first see Dokuro-chan as a teenager the same age as Keima, spinning illusions around Keima as he tries to enter the school grounds. We then next see Dokuro-chan when Keima encounters her at the sailing ship moored at the local port. ARE THEY THE SAME DOKURO-CHAN? Well, not the first three Dokuro-chans he meets, as they regress back to being babies. What about the girl he saves in the current chapter and the girl spinning illusions in the present day? They are the same age- surely they can't be the same girl?

When Keima asks her name she replies "Dokuro"- which is the name of the ex-chief of the Runaway Souls Squad. And when the goddesses regain consciousness within their host bodies they give their own names, not the names of their girls they are inhabiting. And they probably don't age as well. Present day Dokuro-chan also exhibits powers that are equal to those that the goddesses have. Finally (although we don't see it in Dokuro-chan's host body, if indeed it is a host body) the eyes of each of the host girls changes when the goddess persona comes to the fore. Chief Dokuro has the same powers to insert herself into the soul of a host body, like the goddesses. (Unverified)

So unless Dokuro-chan's name is also Dokuro, it's a reasonable assumption that present day Dokuro-chan could be the same as Keima-chan's Dokuro-chan- who is the same as ex-chief Dokuro.

"What?" I hear you say. "Chief Dokuro killed herself when she was in custody, for being a part of the Old Hell conspiracy!" What if she deliberately killed herself to escape the clutches of the New Hell authorities, to be reborn in a host body, way back in the past? Remember, she gives Haqua the globe, to give to Keima, which already had the life points already inscribed in the globe. Chief Dokuro took a big gamble, that Keima would be able to save her in the past. Or did she?

If this is the past, then are we then seeing events that already took place- that ten years ago, Keima-chan had already saved Dokuro-chan- and Chief Dokuro knew that, from her memories. It wasn't such a gamble after all.

But- the whole reason for Keima to go back in the past is to change history. Dokuro-chan was always destined to fall from the ship, and be reborn as a baby- and ten years later return as a small girl? However, there is no ten year old girl in the present day who appears to be the right candidate- and the girl who is attacking Keima with illusions is certainly not ten. But if this is not a resurrected chief Dokuro, then who is the present day Dokuro-chan?

We can make the conjecture that Dokuro-chan is also the present day Dokuro- IF Keima saves Dokuro-chan. Dokuro-chan thereby ensures the events that led up to what present-day Dokuro is doing, attacking Keima with illusions. Basically (to make it more confusing), saving Dokuro-chan brings about the events of the present day, and actually making sure everything that is happening in the present day *takes place*. Keima doesn't actually change history, as his actions in the past were always going to occur. But if this is the case, why send Keima back at all?

Keima gets sent back not to save Dokuro-chan (because that was always going to happen) but to change what happens next. Keima has to do something that will short circuit the pre-destined events that will lead to the present day.

TL;DR:

Ex-chief of the Runaway Souls Squad=present day girl terrorising Keima with illusions=past girl who jumps off ship=Dokuro

Time line 1: Chief dies -> reborn as past girl -> dies, jumping off ship -> reborn as baby immediately -> grows up to be 10-12 years old in the present day (goddess does not re-emerge during this time) (these are events that possibly could have happened if Keima did not intervene)

Keima intervenes

Time line 2: Chief dies -> reborn as past girl -> saved by Keima -> present day girl/goddess (she doesn't age*) (these are the events that are current history)
* there is an assumption here (not supported by any evidence) that a host body does not age if the goddess consciousness is dominant.

Keima's mission

Time line 2: Chief dies -> reborn as past girl -> saved by Keima -> Keima has to do something else to ensure past girl/goddess doesn't become present day girl/goddess (Keima has to change current history.)
