The 2009 has just begun and it's all happening so fast. And here I was thinking: It's been 5 years since this community was established. So many great moments, I can say I'm very proud to have been part of most (if not all) of it, all the ups and downs all the people that have come and go.

I mean, Kai was like 15 when I first meet him, and he was a complete spammer/attn whore like any of you guys if not worse and know he's a grown up dude and I can say he's one of those people who may not always be there but are always around when you need them. That being said This is the 3rd version of the forums and it's been up for more than 4 years now.

Some of these people I have known since day one, others have grown on me over the years and sometimes it all feels like it's happening too fast. It's amazing to know that, almost everyone here, came together with one thing in common: NEGIMA. Who would've thought we'd create the biggest Negima community online ? Many years have passed now, many people -including myself- don't read negima anymore but somehow we're still around and it has shown me that whatever happened in here was real.

Honorable mentions:
  • Musashi, former GITS fan, will never forget the times we used to discuss weekly GITS as well as all the drooling over your summer signatures.
  • Wavehawk, Fellow Gundam fan as well as many other moments we share, hope you're doing well wherever you are.
  • raretralogit, meet you in the first version of the forums, creator of the aquastar hotel -do I need to say more?-you were so active back in the day you even beat me to register in the latest version of the forums (read: you're member #2 right after aquaboss) --- you were always active, even in IRC, I sincerely hope Juan didn't rape you to death at last.
  • chuda-san, CHU B4K4 B4K4 B4K4 !!! While I still talk to you on MSN from time to time, you know I miss you like crazy man! Hope work and school are doing OK.
  • Chaoshawk, another former aqs forums version 1.0, former Love Hina fan and righteous owner of all your women, which are pretty hot, btw. I hope you come back even for a short time to visit when you're done with school.
  • Myu,Me, from Version 2 of the forums iirc, Myu has made the most come back in the history of AQS, always coming and going leaving for a few months then coming back again to us like a family. I sure hope for another come back of yours.
  • Reika, this list would be incomplete without her, former mod companion as well as AQS Mascot. She entered a IRC-ONRY state long before she completely started hating animu and mangu I hope this is not the last I see of her.
  • Hiro_Daioh, Azumanga Daioh fan! Full Metal Panic Fan!, RAW provider for AQS' Kannaduki no Miko scanlation project! oh Hiro, I'm sure you're watching some good anime where you are, you're probably out of school by now so I don't know if you have an Anime club anymore.
  • sielgrief, spanish fellow yami no monk, always so active even in MSN ... then all of a sudden it all disappeared, Genki ne? I sure hope so.
  • Paracelsus, Italian fellow - although u haven't been gone for too long (compared to others) the presence is already noted, I hope the world of FFXI is treating you well.
  • ZapElectro, the one-time avatar member, that's right if you think ZapElectro ever changed his avatar in 5 years, you're greatly mistaking, one of the people I hold far too much respect and although I see you over IRC from time to time, your presence is greatly missed here over the forums.
  • Juan, the other girl of the original boards, imoutto Juan-chan, former Setsuna (yes, from Negima) fan, in fact that was her member name in one of the previous version of the board [IF ANYONE, READ: KAI, REMEMBER THE EXACT MEMBER NAME OF HER, WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED], tentacle queen and my personal little sis who always turned to me when needed advice (as well as hiding from me when doing something wrong) I will always remember the first time you went MIA, kai lost 20 pounds and was about to kill himself, I hope you come back one more time and please bring me Rare with you. Just for old times sake.
  • Sushi-Y, the girl who started everything ... from her raw translations in animesuki to making the AQS community well known. I was never really closed to Sushi but this thread would be empty without her name.
  • lambchopsil, probably the person who's contributed more to the AQS community in overall progress and hours spent. Sushi started it, and it was great but Lambchop PERFECTED everything and took it to a whole new level. worked for the scanlations, the fansubs, forum moderator and even irc op(@). Lambchop is still SEMI ACTIVE - LURKER mode but compared to all he did for this community, words will always fall short. Thank you for your hard work UCLA is lucky to have you and wish you the best in your studies.
  • claman, back in the day claman was a full time resident of AQS and eventhough he shows up from time to time, it sure feels empty without your notable presence. Another young gun who started as a student and is now an adult pursuing Medicine, I hope we get to see you around more often in the near future Dr. Claman!
  • Sox, soxie... almost made it 6 years with us ... now you're gone. So sad... 6 You were part of the heart and soul of aquastar while scanlating Negima in its prime, it's part because of people like you that Aquastar became so well known for it's quality. You even honored our time together with a goodbye thread.(
Sox's Private Goodbye thread.) hope you regret leaving with all your might and come back to us one day. NOTE: The thread is private, inside the staff area and it remains that way on behalf of Sox himself.
The list is incomplete, I obviously missed some people, if I remember I will add more, otherwise please forgive me.

Remember that while some may have found new passions and moved on, others are just no longer active and the others are just ... now gone... the memories will last forever.

note: If you're reading this and you can contact any of the people in that list, please link them to this thread, even if they don't have the time to reply, the fact that they read this wherever they are makes it worth it.

Melissan ? hhhmm.... Not really sure it fits into this category seeing as he/she/it was only active for about a year and wasn't even at the beginning of the AQS.

Senshi would probably fit this list more if anything ... eyebrow1.gif

Kawaii Lady is still very active around IRC, and I'd dare to say she's also active here around the forums she's just too lazy to log on.

oh I completely forgot about Saru pop, she wrote the best yuri fanfic to date ohmy.gif

Yeah I mean how could you forget. >__>

And yes I know Kawaii is active on irc. I'm just saying she isn't on the forum.

Oh and I could probably get Musashi to read this if you want.

Edit: Okay message sent. Maybe he'll come around and see this if he isn't busy working... or drawing hentai. tongue.gif

Just promise that you don't mention me when I'm gone like the rest. XD2.gif

Man I miss Wavy, Lamby, Zap, and Mel. Things just aren't the same with out them here.

I'd really like to hear his thought's on the current season of Gundam 00. Plus the BSL hasn't been the same since Mel left. Honestly I think I miss her the most of those who've left.

I invite you all to comment on it over there in the right place. Contact Saru Pop, make her come back, whatever you want just don't derail my thread, in other kindly words: GTFO!

edit: I forgot claman, mind you. Added and bump!

Man, 5 years has been a long time. I must of been a freshman in high school back then...and served drinks at the AQS Bar. It's a trip to see how big AQS has become because of Negima and our fansub/scanlation contributions.

You know what I'm talking about ... If you felt a little nostalgic when reading through some of those names you know it's been real and there have been so many great moments around here that it's just sad to think that most of those people are not around here anymore. nod.gif

I'm far from the most active member (okay, so more like my posts come and go in waves),but I've been around long enough to recognize quite a few of those names. Tis really a shame that so many of them were great members, and they they've faded into the bowels of time around here

but really, five years is an extremely long time for a website like this to exist

No it's not. It's 4 years since the latest version of these forums. But before this we had another Invision Free forum and php based forums, too. So this is Version 3.3 of the forums actually.

V1 being the first Invision free.
V2 php based forums.
V3 this forums with Dark Blue
3.2 Light Blue with new smilies
3.3 The current version with Spoiler Tags, more smilies, quick edit function, bigger color palette (although who uses all those colors anyway?), etc.

5 years eh. I just remember the times when I was in v1 of the forums happy.gif

Now that I think about it AQS was the first forum I've joined in my whole life but I was so shy and scared that time that I rarely posted because of some people SPAMING the threads and FLAMING each other dry.gif (I won't mention the names, I think some of the old members know who they are)

And I never really had a chance to interact with some of the old members because of my inactivity when I started going to college

EDIT: Oh yeah, is Sox still here? I haven't seen him for a long time. Or is he spending his time inside the Scanslation/Fansub thread?

Ah OK - so the 4-Jan 2005 membership people (the earliest on this forum) were using another forum for a year before that?
So I guess for that list, V2 must be 4-Jan-2005? and V1 was something else in 2004?

No not yet he's got a year left on his current plan. I forget what degree he's after but its kind of a cop out and he agrees fully with that assessment, but its still a degree that gives him a little more power in the job market when he decides to leave Stanley.
