Some sad news for people who listen to the dub version of Negima, courtesy of A Fan's View:

QUOTE
Actor and DJ Greg Ayres was hospitalized late Friday after suffering chest pains at Ikkicon. His brother, Chris Ayres, said Greg has been disagnosed as having suffered a heart attack. Greg's in some discomfort but is resting at an Austin, Texas hospital while a cardiologist decides the treatment to use. Please pray for our good friend and brother in fandom at his time of need.

I know a lot of people here aren't too fond of Greg's performance of Negi, but still this is definitely a time to consider his health in your thoughts. sad.gif

No complaints from the Neko.

Get well soon Greg.

I hope he gets well soon. I love when he says "o !@#*" while dubbing Negi in the Negima bloopers video...

Not quite the ideal voice for Negi...but I didn't mind him really. Hope he gets better soon.

Even now, he towers over all others.

There could certainly be worse voices for Negi (I'm still traumatized from 4kids frozen.gif ).

I loled at his "I see dead people!" line. happy.gif So, yeah. Hope he gets better.

Dude...

A hospital, here in Austin?

He's at Brackenridge.

That's the only level II trauma center in all of Central Texas.
http://organizedwisdom.com/helpbar/index.h...s/brackenridge/

If I wanted, barring hospital protocall keeping me (a total stranger) from visiting, I could be from this chair to at his bedside wishing him well in no more than 45 minutes. Give or take traffic.

But I must say, he's in the best care he could ever get in practically the whole of the United States.

If anyone wants me to do anything here, respond quickly.

Well, if you guys want me to do anything, I mean a SERIOUS, anything. Not things like 'go get a picture'.

I'm sure you'd love a total stranger popping in after you've had a heart attack asking for a photo. This is a Hospital, not a convention center.

I need to know as quickly as possible because even if he had a heart attack... if it didn't drop him, he'll only be in there a few days.

If I'm making a full scale list or something and delivering it, I'd need to know quickly so I can plan it.

For now, it's best to "wait and see" when it comes to Greg's condition (when it comes to your hospital plan, Admiral).

The reason why I'm saying this because two sites that were discussing the incident, ANN and Anime On DVD, had either closed the boards mentioning it or deleted it, and the site that broke the news, A Fan's View, is currently down.

Hence, as someone on the Toonzone board mentioned, it's possible that there's either good news to this (in that it may be all a hoax) or that there's some serious bad news that has me regretting posting this news on the board in the first place (in that Greg's family didn't want this news to be mentioned publicly).

So, for now, it's a "wait and see" when it comes to something hospital-related (and any more posts on this thread).

Official faculties generally discourage discussion of people's private lives. As for that one site going down, coincidence says I.

But if you wanna' wait. Wait. Just be warned. I can't drop what I'm doing and run downtown willy nilly. So any kind of timely warning to give me planning room is important.

Just a quick heads up: the Anime on DVD message board reported that Greg didn't suffer a heart attack, and that all he had were chest pains.

I think we can breathe a sigh of relief here.

That's good, I saw his name on a flier for Metro Con, though I had no idea what happened to him.

(I'd go and see him there, but it's in Tampa =.=)

I'm looking forward to seeing if he's in the bloopers on the Negima!? DVD set part 2.
