AQS Anime 2009 Year End Awards

Welcome to the 4th Annual AQS Anime 2009 Year End Awards.

Rules:

Rule 1. Only Anime from the Fall 2008, Winter 2008/2009, Spring 2009, and Summer 2009 Anime are eligible.
Rule 2. When voting, you may choose up to 3 choices for each category. Voting is decided on a Point System, so choose your Votes Wisely.
Rule 3. Voting will end at Midnight on December 31st. Any votes after the 31st are not eligible. Winners will be announced on January 1st. If you wish to change your votes, you may do so, just remember, anything after the 31st isn't eligible.
Rule 4. OVA/OAD's are not eligible. Sorry for those who posted their votes before this rule went up...I forgot to add it to the rules apparently.

Regarding the Best OP and ED Categories, if an anime has multiple OP's or ED's, be sure you let us know which you're voting for. I suggest typing the name of the OP, with the artist, and what anime it's from. If you can't remember or find the info, just choose "Anime OP1 or OP2".

Note: I took it down to 5 Categories this year so that people will vote for more anime. I figured maybe I put too many categories and it made people not want to type so much stuff over and over again. So it's down to 5 in hopes that people will actually choose 3 anime for each category. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post and I'll answer as soon as I can.

Wow, I've actually consumed enough series' to just about make a full list of noms. This was a fairly good year for anime (and articles will say the future is looking bad)

Mr Shao-mai raises a good point tho - isn't Haruhi S2 eligible? (though it's not exactly made a positive impact)

Anime of the Year

Two clearly above - others in indistinct ranking

The snarky, (mostly) healthy teen male and part Vampire. Power levels above!
Others are sifted from the rest.

3) Aisaka Taiga (Toradora!)

It's all about screen presence.

Best OP Theme
1) Staple Stable - Chiwa Saito with meg rock (Bakemonogatari OP1)
2) Renai Circulation - Kana Hanazawa with meg rock (Bakemonogatari OP4)
3) Silky Heart - Yui Horie (Toradora! OP2)

It's been kinda thin on the OPs. Staple Stable is unmistakably great, the other two are fillers after a relistening session.

Best ED Theme
1) Kimishiranai Monogatari (Story that you don't know) - Nagi with Supercell (Bakemonogatari)
2) Orange - Yui Horie, Kugimiya Rie & Kitamura Eri (Toradora! ED2)
3) Karakoi ~Dakara Shoujo wa Koi wo Suru~ (May I be of service? ~That's why the girl falls in love~) - Kugumiya Rie & Shiraishi Ryoko (Hayate no Gotoku!! ED2)

#3 just about nosed ahead of Hatsukoi Limited. I seem to have a thing for duets and groups as Orange's #2 demonstrates.
I would have voted for Hina's song - but sadly the various versions without the annoying trio aren't technically the ED Don't like Yukiji's version as much tho
#1 was an awesome song anyway, but it's Crowning Music of Awesome moment at the end of episode 12 seals the deal.

first of... Unlimited ENDLESS EIGHT doesn't really work
2nd, LACK luster OP and ED.. not even a dance
at most, i'd nominate only Kyon and Yuki
