Gran Tursimo 5, Ever heard of this game?

It has been in development before you were born.

Guess what? It's coming out in a couple of hours. The world will never be the same, all the standards are now changed and this is the only real reason why people should have a PS3.

Oooooh - 1080p pretty - yes I put the game in my PS3 for the first time ... much earlier today

... pretty ... after it downloaded 1.02 update of 133Mb ... and then I allowed it to do the optional '30' minute 8Gb HDD data install ... lucky I updated my PS3 to a 500Gb myself not long ago if games are gonna use that much
... and to be specific - the HDD install took 38 minutes +/- 1 minute (ignore the countdown timer)

Yes that means to make sure you have about 45 minutes 'before' the first time you want to say 'Oooooh pretty'

You can play in 3D also ... but I don't have 3D glasses (or a 'so-called 3D' TV that can sync the glasses)

The 'make a car' real footage start was a bit pointless IMO ... but I hit 'start' soon after they were coming off the production line so I didn't wait for the end.

Nice to see I can start playing as an F40 in arcade ... even if I did only come 8th ...
Replay was funny to watch OMG I did that to an F40!
The amount of damage it showed seemed minimal compared to what I did - but at least it was obvious non-stylised damage on the car.

Race looks ... real! Yep no other word to describe it.
You can still tell it's not - but only just.

I'll have to try out the PSP option later to see what's available in Remote mode.

... Options on the very first screen allows you to switch out of being dimensionally challenged ...

Edit: I'd also add - be careful about playing this on a hot day in a hot room - my PS3 fan was on full throttle even running the demo and after I quit (and it's only 25°C in the room)

yeah, tried entering room for newbs, but my FT-86 definitely lacks power and my skill definitely needs some polishing

....also need steering wheel, DS3 isn't precise enough

OK I've only done some level 0 races (1st in the half dozen I've tried) but I find racing against the computer, playing 'Mario Kart' style works well (destroy the enemy ... sort of) like in a corner if you're stuck behind a group, cut through the next sharp braking corner (don't brake) and just hit them - you end up still racing in the right position if you aim well

OK, need a faster car now - these starting cars I got at the beginning are majorly too slow.
Any suggestions on what would be best for around 40k?
Is it better to get a used car when your low in cash coz you can get better performance?
Does it really matter if it's not new? (especially early on I'd guess it really doesn't matter at all?)

lol, my advice: take B license first, then take specials (it's good for gaining money and they provided the cars. They also give you some pink slips)

make sure you get nissan MM-R Cup Car from pink slips, it has a real good handling!

used cars are basically standard cars (those without interior view), quality-wise they're good enough

i myself only bought 1 car & go kart for penniless trophy, then bought Mercedes Benz CL 65

now using FT-86 concept i got from pink slip (from the 1st championship, 3rd competition in the beginner's class), and collecting money and gaining levels to buy Ferrari Italia, GT-R spec V, or CLS AMG

Races are very easy in the early levels, I'd suggest you tune your cars the least amount possible ....... you can still win and you save up for when the challenge really begins ......
