Liz was excited. Jayden and Jenny were spending the day with Billy in La Push, so she had some free time, and little money. Which is why she only had one shopping bag, and was merely looking around in Radio Shack. She had her Sidekick in her hand, looking for a case since Jenny had colored her old one with Sharpies.

She sighed, walking over to the counter. "Are these Sharpie-resistant, do you know?" she asked, desperation in her voice.

Yeah Eric worked at Radio Shack alright. It wasn't by far the greatest job around but it wasn't too far from Forks and it was money right? He had always believed their prices to be outrageous though when the internet was one click away.

The day was dragging by like always as he pressed some keys into the computer in a sort of daze. Probably thinking about Katie somewhere in there. It wasn't going to be long before they were both in completely different schools, on completely different levels. After all, she was going to be entering her Junior year of high school while Eric would be starting college. Who knew what would happen and he didn't want to think about it but to stop, wasn't possible. So it was a good thing there was a distraction as he heard a girl's voice suddenly asking about Sharpie-resistant something or rather. Looking up, he could see what she was referring to. It was a case for a sidekick.

"Hmm, I don't know much about sidekicks, being an Iphone man myself...but I wouldn't trust anything to be Sharpie-resistant."

He took the merchandise from her and examined it himself. Nowhere on the package did it say anything about Sharpie-resistant. Just about being lightweight, protective vinyl, fine smooth interior, etc. Nothing about beating the almighty powerful Sharpie. Handing it back to her so she could make the decision, he went on.

"Yeah, it doesn't say anything on here so I still wouldn't be all secure with it. You'd have better luck just getting the marker off yourself with some hairspray..I heard that works. It'd save you money too."

Uh oh. If his supervisor had just heard him say that, his butt would be out on the street right now. Old Joe wouldn't think twice about not firing Eric for downplaying a sale. Never. Good thing he was on his lunch though and Eric was in charge right now. It was up to the girl if she wanted to buy it or not.

Liz laughed softly at his first assesment, then wtched carefully as he examined the packaging. She tilted her head to the side slightly when he brought up hairspray. "Anything else you think that works?" she asked, trying to sound hopeful.

She sighed after a moment, looking at the packaging herself. "[COLOR=yellow]I'm better off just keeping it in my pockets. Jay and Jen will probably just draw on the new one too." she murmured, pushing the package to the side.

Eric folded his arms and put one hand on his chin then pointed a finger at her. "You know you should try a Hardware store. They would know more about what would remove Permanent Marker."Afterward, he shrugged wishing he could be more of help in that department but as for this Jen and Jay doing it all over again, that was very probable. "Siblings suck I know that much. I have a younger sister at home..not saying they're your siblings. I don't know who they are to you. But...why spend money on something that will just happen again?"It was logical thinking and she seemed to have come to that conclusion as she put the item back.

"So do Jay and Jen go around ruining everything or just target random things like cellphone cases?"He picked up one of the clipboards on the desk. It was the one for Inventory which was what he had to take right now. Make sure the store was stocked. Also, to make sure he looked somewhat busy at the moment.

Liz shrugged. "Biologically, I'm their sister. Legally, I'm their 'primary caregiver'." she made the air quotations with her fingers, as if it were a dirty phrase, when it was just the opposite. It was the best phrase she had heard in her life, when it related to her.

She laughed at his other question. "Jayden likes things taht smell bad, so he runs around the house with a sharpie with him at all times. Jenny just likes causing trouble and pointing fingers." she responded simply, leaning against the counter slightly.

"Smell bad? No way those things smell good! They just suck to get out of things. I don't care for them much because of that. Your brother is just starting early."He winked at her wondering if she'd get the joke. Probably not but he was known for coming up with quirky jokes that no one usually got.

Once he was done taking the inventory for the PDA's, Flash drives, Batteries, etc., he put the clipboard down figuring to finally introduce himself. "I'm Eric by the way. Slave of this here over priced prison."Motioning around with his arms as he started to laugh. Another bad joke. When it came to his job though, it was always a joke. To him at least. It was times like these he couldn't wait to finally start college and well..spread his wings and all that stuff.

Liz laughed at his bad joke, "I'm Liz. I guess you could say that I'm a slave at La Push where I run my own...Business, I guess." she responded running a hand through her hair lightly.

She tilted her head to the side for a second, scrutinizing his face slightly. "Now that I think about it, you do look familiar. Weren't you in Bella's grade at the high school?" she asked, not bothering with a last name because Bella was pretty much famous around for being the fiancee of a Cullen boy.

Eric gave her a "man you're lucky" look as she said she had her own business."Oh really? That sounds loads better. Being your own boss and all. My Supervisor here, Joe, I swear you would think that he isn't happy with a thing in his life."Which was true. Joe would find any little thing to complain about. If they did good on sales for the day, it was always "well now we need to start working on marketing for this product" or "that wasn't good enough we need to sell this much more tomorrow" and then if they met that quota, then the bar would heighten even more. "What kind of business do you have?"Hopefully it wasn't anything dealing with getting Sharpie off of a sidekick case. The thought of it, made him smirk.

It disappeared a little though as she gave him a semi scrutinized look as if she were trying to figure out where she seen him from. Turns out he did look familiar to her. The mention of Bella made his eyes light up in the sense of friendship. Of course he knew her. He was one of the first people she met when she moved to Forks. "You know Bella too? Yeah..I just graduated with her not long ago. We're pretty good friends. Going to her wedding and all." In the beginning there had been some slight awkwardness between him and Bella with asking her to the dance and all. Then the whole thing with Mike..but it was ancient history now (minus the Mike deal). Now, Eric couldn't be happier for his friend Bella and her deep commitment to the Cullen kid.

Liz laughed softly at the look he gave her, and nodded in agreement that it did sound better than having to deal with Joe. She hadn't expected his question, but smiled. "I run a little hut on First Beach, just serving some snacks and stuff." she responded simply, shrugging her shoulders as if it weren't that great a business.

Well, it really was. What with the werewolves (though she had no idea about them, still) and everyone going down, she got a real steady income, though it often went towards more food to use as ingredients and stuff like that, but there was always just enough left over for her and her kids to be able to have a few treats here and there.

She nodded as he agreed to her assumption, and she smiled again. "I graduated the year before you guys." she responded simply, sticking her thumbs in her pockets.

"Street vendor then? That's cool. I eat from hot dog stands and stuff like that all the time. It's cheap and the fastest ya know?"He replied to her profession of business. That's what he should do. Start his own business relating to something. Maybe he could sell stuff too...like what though? The possibilities were endless but to him, there were kinda limited too.

When Liz said she graduated a year before him, Eric's eyebrows drew together in that thinking way of his as he tried to remember seeing her around. It was a no go though. Just because he was smart, didn't mean he wasn't likely to forget things..well at least when it came to who was who. Still, now he felt a little dumb figuring he should have recognized her at least from the halls. Then again, it's not she remembered him either. So it was all good. "Oh yeah? Kinda surprised I never saw you around. My head are probably just always in the clouds."Oh geez, did he really just say that? "Quick subject change."

"So you said your little hit thing is down on First Beach. Go to La Push a lot?"Eric was thinking back to high school (strange how they all got out not long ago and he was referring to it already as "back in high school" god he was gonna get old fast) when everyone would talk about those parties in La Push they would have. He usually just listened and nodded at points. Truth was, secretly at times he really wanted to go while others, he just thought it was lame and conforming. Or maybe that's just because he was the "geek" in the crowd?
