Title: Asking all Mods

YuYan - January 20, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
sorry to bother, but why is my topic "In a Crazy Marketplace" gone in the rp forum? it just vanished. i just realized when i went in to post a few minutes ago. it is completely gone and i can't find it in the topics that i created either.

Good Question,Yu!

Even though I am no mod,I think there would be a few reasons why it'd be gone.
-Ahem-

1)There was too much OC talk(Kes recently said something about no CO talk in the RP foums)

2)It got too violent(Near-Death experiances, bloody-ness,ect.ect.)

3)There was "cussing" like putting spaces between letters to make it "so it can't be filtered"

That is why we should always check the rules from time to time. Something you do wrong without reading the rules can land you a warning!
Remember to always keep on the topic as well. One can't suddenly switch the subject in an RP,and if that were to happen and everyone followed, that definantly leads down the road to deletion.

I hope this helped ^^

bleh, for each question...

1) if there was too much ooc talk, i wasn't aware of it, and i don't think the whole entire thread has to be deleted because of a few individuals. that topic did take a big amount of time to be made.

2) violence was minimum in that topic, besides burnings i didn't see much

3) i'm 100% sure there were no cussings, 'cause no one posting in that topic cusses

and for that out of topic note, it was a very general topic. a marketplace. so many scenerios could happen.

O....K Option set B

1)It was moved to a cretain topic only Avatar Cannon Chars and the Mods and Admins can see(Trust me I was told and I've seen it)

I...had something else,but I just had a brain freeze
Oh,plus the burnings coulda gotten it deleted

YuYan - January 20, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
1) no reason for only mods and chars to see it, it was a topic for fans to join.

2) violence exists in all topics, one way or the other. i've seen more gruelilng ones on this site, trust me

-Blinks-

Um,thank you Justin,I appreaceate it,but I don't think we're argueing.
But thanks ^^

YuYan - January 21, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
what are you talking about?

anyway, asking for mods or admins help here.

Aimee - January 21, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
*Sighs in annoyance*

Certain people were using Chatspeak, and spamming.

YuYan - January 21, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
okay ya'll. talking about out of topic, i wanna know why my rp topic got deleted. you two are way out of topic here. take it somewhere else *sighs*

and delete those unrelated posts too please, so the mods won't have to bother spending time filtering out the needed info

Aimee gave a good reason, and since she RPed there she'd know ^^

KesQuest - January 21, 2007 01:10 AM (GMT)
It was deleted for OOC speak and chat speak.

I put an offical warning in the thread two days ago and 4 posts today contained OOC speak so it was deleted.

As per rules of the RP section I can delet any thread for a vilation of the rules.

YuYan - January 21, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
but could you have been more lenient and instead have done something to individuals instead of having to delete a whole entire thread that took many days (actually weeks) to start and ideas to create? that isn't fair, especially to those who took all the time. that was around 17, 18 pages of posts there.

besides, there are threads with chatspeak in them, as long as other miscellanous such as capitalization and spelling errors. would you delete them all as well?

i'm sorry for being blatantly rude but i'm not so content with a big thread like that being dumped into the oceans.

Aimee - January 21, 2007 01:20 AM (GMT)
I can understand where you are coming from Yu, but I can also understand where Kes is coming from. The Moderators and the Admins keep repeating over and over how they don't want people to use OOC speak and Chatspeak. They need to set an example and show that they mean buisness.

YuYan - January 21, 2007 01:26 AM (GMT)
does that mean having to delete many hours of work from others just because of a few people messing them up? i find that extremely unjust.

imagine your work for class done for so many days, then some random kid blows the whole thing up, and you end up getting a failing grade through all that effort.

i'm just feeling unjust for the people who strived to keep a rp like that going. they wasted their time too.

Aimee - January 21, 2007 01:29 AM (GMT)
When you saw, and I saw, that certain people were doing that we should have spoken up. It wasn't like we weren't warned. The messages and rules clearly state that Chatspeak and OOC speak are forbidden. Even though the outcome of this is not favorable to the both of us, it's just.

KesQuest - January 21, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
I caught over 6 people and over 20 posts with OOC chat.

I stand by my decision. I posted a warning and asked for al OOC comments to be deleted or the thread would be deleted.

Some individuals fixed thier posts. but other's did not. I have PMed individuals as well.

I know I've been gone for over a month but I'm back and the RP section needs to follow the rules. all new threads should be put in the subcatigories.

Under serious RP the rules will be applied strickly as always. The other section they will not be but the OOC comments will still apply.

PM each other instead of putting it in the posts.

YuYan - January 21, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
if you say so, then since many post don't contain enough sentences/words, they should also be deleted. many threads should be deleted then.

i'd have preferred this to be settled by sending specific pms to specific people who chatspeaked on 1 page or 4 or 5 pages out of those 17 pages. instead of dumping every page away and ruining other's efforts. if individuals don't respond, i prefer them to have a warning or two or a suspension. i'm not a mod and i'm not teaching, yet unjust stuff like that i can't let them pass.

KesQuest - January 21, 2007 01:38 AM (GMT)
refure to the rules of the RP section. And I did PM individuals as well. But if I catch more then 10 OOC comments in any thread of the RP section I delete the entire thread.

YuYan - January 21, 2007 01:44 AM (GMT)
why do certain others have to get the burden of punishment if it was others who caused the problem???

Justin - January 21, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
Because BSG should work together. No one should have to post OOC comments if everyone gets along.

Vladimir_Draconovitch - January 21, 2007 05:18 PM (GMT)
The reason that you wouldn't have seen the cussings and OOCly chat is because the moderators (like wonderful Kes) are on call 24/7 thanks to our time zones and so we always check subjects for such things and if nessesary PM, delete or edit posts.

Archer Yi Ze - January 21, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
