can we just all sit back and appreciate that the main villain is not a cookie cutter "muahahaha im crazy and i want to take over the world and YOU CAN'T STOP ME"
but actually HAS A VALID POINT. I'm looking at you, Tarlok. Seriously though, if I had any complaints about the general antagonists of the original series it was that Ozai was waaaay too generic and flat of a character. The whole "family full of evil" thing was a bit over the top and hard to swallow. Azula, Long Feng, and Zhao outshone him and kinda made him underwhelming. He sure looked fine in those robes (and without them) but by the time season 3 hit I just wasn't buying it. Amon's shaping up to be a LOT more interesting of a character already, hope to see more of him soon and hope that they don't take a cop out in the writing and slaughter everything interesting about him. If they're really trying for a "darker" storyline, then hopefully they'll have the guts to not completely remove Amon's character from the fact that he's a complex human being with real motivations... motivations that led him to become a terrorist. Also being an animation major, the improvement of the animation quality brings out all these feels in me.
