Yeah, just yak about whatever movies them Hollywood ppl are making based on books like Harry Potter, etc.

Hot news's that, they are gonna make the "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown into a movie!! Starring I forgot who (Robbie Williams was it? Maybe not...X( and heard it's gonna be good.

Why can't they make "Angels and Demons" into the movie 1st?? It's before the story in 'The Da Vinci Code' anyway *blink*

Okay ppl, new update: they're planning to make 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' (LWW), 2nd part of the Chronicles of Narnia into a movie!

Which left me thinking...I remembered watching some cartoon that has the Lion being struck by lightning on a stone plateau (the time I was too young to remember the title). Upon reading the book a few years back, I realise, "oh..so the Lion is from the Narnia. Haha....

Aaaanyway, i was wondering: why is it that directors/producers ALWAYS take the 2nd part of a series to make into a movie? E.g. Da Vinci Code's story is set after the events in Angels and Demons.

So...ya think this movie's gonna be good or it's gonna sink?

2nd part..mabbe cos its more popular? ^^;;

The latest one so more well-known?

emm.. movies based on books...

Lemony Snickett? Watched already?

I've only read the first 3 books of the Lemony Snickett series...

I felt that the movie follows the darkish feel of the books. ^^
Plus there was Jim Carrey (spellin?) .. he acts as Count Olaf. In the books, you're always having this mix emotions abt hating and loving Count Olaf. In the movie, this characteristic really came out. ^^

I admit...I didn't actually read any of Lemony Snickett's books (heheh...) and therefore I do not exactly know what is going on.

And yeah, I haven't watch the movie yet. No time....

I know something about Count Olaf wanting to get the children's house/property or something like that, and thus begins the unfortunate events...? *blink*

Somebody who knew the series in and out, enlighten me...

lol. well, ok..

Lemony Snickett... I don't think this is the author's real name.. anyway,
he's the narrator of the whole story.
He starts off with something like "this is a very miserable book, you better put it down and go look for some happy flowery book ...." After a while, you feel quite annoyed cos he keeps repeating something like, "theres no happy ending, I warn you..." " put this book down at once if you don't like to see childen suffer" ...

Alright.. summary of the series...

u're right.. its something to do with Count Olaf trying to get the 3 children's fortune.
(I'm bad at summaries.)

Lemony Snickett tells the story about these 3 children that has 3 special qualities each. (well, its not that special just distinguished.) One day their home burnt down and their parent's died. So, they had to go to their closest relative which happens to be Count Olaf. But this Count Olaf is trying to get to the children's fortune. That's where the story starts. Its about how these 3 kids escape frm Count Olaf but keeps meeting him.

Um.. in short, its a children's story book. Well, a slightly twisted children story book but the contents of the story is aim more for children or rather, aim more for twisting children minds. ^^;;

The plot is ok ler. The contents, emm.. well, it's reall quite simple.. you'd get slightly irritated sometimes when the author keeps explaining certain words. I went like, "sheeesh, again? I know what this means!!" ^^;;

I see happy.gif;; Lemony Snickett has written about 10++ book (am I right...?) but if it looks/sounds a slightly twisted children story (and I think so, judging from the book cover), I wonder why people still read it...(only me wondering)

And, we're all never too old for movies tongue.gif

For me, I read Angels and Demons before Davinci Code, and therefore I liked Angels and Demons better. But, I agree with ya, Dan Brown's style of writing is nice...simple, but still nice....
