First of all, I don't think there has ever been a better mix of a a video game with a current song in the history of gaming. Once you play this game, then listen to the title song again, you will think it was made for the game.
As with any game, you always try to compare it to other games so one can get a feel for what to expect. I think the best way to describe this game is like Fallout 3 but if Fallout 3 were actually fun or enjoyable. And if Fallout 3 were made by lots and lots of World of Warcraft fans. The story is fairly interesting. There is a crappy planet called Pandora and there is an old legend of some vault that is filled with riches beyond your dreams, and the power to be famous and a powerful leader. After lots and lots of searching by large groups and corporations, this place is has become just a rat hole for bounty hunters and treasure hunters. There are a few locals that are trying to eek out a living and then lots of over savage tribes and clans Mad Max style. I would say this planet and story would fit perfectly as a Firefly side story, with the exception of some aliens that serve as general monsters in the game. I could totally see this game being made where Capt. Mal comes down with the crew and tries to find the vault. The whole game has a good flavor with funny characters to meet and quests that are fun and somewhat reminiscent of WoW quests. The classes you can play are unique and each a pleasure to level up and play around with the talents. When they say this is what would happen if an RPG had a baby with an FPS, they aren't kidding. You have to buy this game or at least try it. -------------------- |
