I'm not doooooone >.<

There are two main factions known throughout the current world today: The Converts and the Mavericks. But while the Converts are one huge organization with a strict hierarchy and a massive social structure, the Mavericks are comprised of many smaller groups, each with it's own chain of command and prefered methods.

The Converts

The Mavericks
Tired of the ever-more tyrannical, oppressing ways of Bishop and the current Converts, a group of brave individuals broke away and went into hiding, swearing that somehow, someway, they would restore society to the way it was before Bishop seized power. Their numbers rose exponentially seemingly overnight, with no shortage of people willing to oppose the Converts. Some still still believe strongly in the Convert ideal, and are striving to return the mega-organization to its roots; others have lost loved ones and seek revenge; there are many reasons that some 'turn Maverick' (as the saying as been coined), and not all of them are wholesome. But no matter one's reasoning, there seems to be a Maverick group for everyone out there.
Not all groups embrace the terrorist/bandit credo, either. A few groups were formed by individuals who simply find the Convert way of life too harsh and demanding, and broke away to lead a more peaceful, pastoral existence.
Still, it seems no matter what the ideal held by a Maverick group, the Converts military division seeks them out and silences them.
There are countless Maverick groups gathered around the countryside, but here I'll outline the four biggest and most active:

Medusa

Castron

Black Dragon

The Institute
More of an organization of scientists than anything else, The Institute was founded by a group of researchers tired of being dictated and having their work dominated by the Converts. Onorthodox as far as Mavericks are concerned, The Institute's members are divided into two groups: Core researchers and fielders.
Core researchers do just that: research. Anything and everything. Fielders are the more active, better known half of The Institute, as these members are often contracted out to other Maverick groups to fill an area of expertise not found in that group for a set period of time and a set fee. This fee usually comes in the form of food, fuel, equipment, or data garnered from the fielder's time with the client group.
The only thing setting The Institute apart from freelancers is the cold, hard fact that they refuse to work for the Converts.
