  bah Amateurs.

You need FRAPS, you run that as you are playing back the demo...it will instantly take the demo and record it into an uncompressed AVI. Then you can do with that what you will...alot easier than the startmovie command afformentioned by thus forth with amatuer soupeh wink.gif

well when i was experimenting with making a tfc video, you just watch the demo. you have to use the command startmovie (i think.) and it'll start dropping a TON of bmps into whatever drive your hl is in. then you use a program (videomach?) to put it all together into an avi

Is there a way to trasfer .dem files into mpeg or avi. I try to use fraps to record demo, but if you want good frame rate you need a fast HD over 7200 RPM., also i can't geekplayer to play demo files keeps crashing dry.gif

  VirtualDub

This program will help you compress the audio, if there is any.

After processing your movie in VideoMach and saving it, etc. Open VirtualDub, go to File > Open, and open your movie, then click on Video > Direct Stream Copy, then go to Audio > Full Processing Mode, then go back and go to Audio > Compression and choose MPEG Layer-3 and 32 22,025 something Hz and 4kb/sec..

sorry if that wasn't clear enough tongue.gif
