Dealing out moderation, Old Skool!

I was doing some light-to-moderate drinking last night, pondering an interesting topic. Thinking of 'Old skool' games that were remade into 3D. And, admist all the hops and barley, I can only think of one Game I ENJOYED more in 3d than I did in 2d.
Sonic the hedgehog
I totally hated Sonic's gameplay on the Genesis, but I absolutley love it on the DreamCast (Or Gamecube. whatever. Same game), which is odd, because I'm a hardcore stickler for OldSkool gaming. Usually, most game that make that jump from 2-D to 3-d usually lose something in the translation.
Final Fantasy forgot the key ingredient to a good RPG is story, not re-hashed characters and FMV and Summons galore
Mario lost the groundbreaking sidescrolling action that made it famous, in favor of 'exploration'
Metroid went the way of the first person shooter, losing all the platform jumping and control that made it famous
Mega man ditched the whole 'robot master' concept and became a treasure hunter (?!)
Zelda became nothing but puzzles and stupid character names... And masks. And Music
The less I say about Street Fighter EX the better.
If you've got anything to add, go ahead.
