Hey guys

This basically begins a series I will conduct about my WoC army. I'll post photos of painting progress and battles as they come.

Essentially this is going to start from scratch!

Firstly I'll lay out a few things about the intentions of the army and etc.

+I've been an avid Warhammer WATCHER for around 8 years, never really painting as I found to suck terribly. I plan on painting to the best of my ability, however I would love to here constructive criticism and techniques or advice anyone as to offer - on my gaming as well tongue.gif

+This list has the purpose of often fighting Vampire Counts. Please keep this in mind as I'm not a hardcore gamer! Fluffy is fun!

+Please feel free to leave questions, advice, etc as I proceed. I'll try and stay as up to date as possible!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To begin this GRAND OPENING (lol) I shall post a proposed list for dealing with the dreaded undead of Sylvania. It is comprised with the mindset of fluffy-ness and ease of collection. Any advice would be great! Without further adue:

Maybe due to the huge amount of khornyness you've got you could try and squeeze in a few more hounds? They'll help you control your frenzy a little I think smile.gif *if you're after controllign it of course biggrin.gif

Looking forwards to seeing your first models smile.gif

As for the painting the best general advice I've been given comes down to a few points

Try and be clean and neat, nothing fancy is needed to have a good looking crisp army, taking a little more time in the first stages will save you loads of time in the future.

Every model is an opportunity to improve! If you're not a massive fan of a model treat it as something to learn on.

There's a couple of massively labour saving ways to do things - the new washes are one, especially on metal!

Good basing makes an army look better more than any other 'minimum input' work I think, and can tie an entire army together nicely, also it's a nice break from fiddly stuff!

I've probably forgotten some of the gems I've picked up from criticisms I've had in the past biggrin.gif

Hey!

I'd add shields to your warriors, a 2+ save in combat can be handy when fighting black knights, wraiths and vargulfs or other vampires for that matter. I play against VC a lot and I do not want to miss the shields when I get charged...

And now you really should start posting pictures tongue.gif !

TO Byronic:
I cant say that Khorne is my favourite god/colour scheme, but the main reason is for gameplay, as i've found that additional hw wielding MoK warriors has a tendency to make up HUGE CRs against undead and their immunity to fear really helps.

Im thinking about extra hounds, however im not too sure as to whether i will be outmaneavoured by undead so random charges shouldnt be a huge problem. However.. the hounds do look rather cool... tongue.gif

I shall definitely note the "try and improve on each model as you go' approach!

To Eta: can you add shields AND have additional handweapons? or just modify a unit to have a little more lasting capability?

In General:

I have just finished painting up my General on daemonic mount. first figure i've attempted to paint ever haha so please, comments/criticism etc. I shall post the pictures as soon as my camera decides to register on the computer! =D

Please keep in mind this is my first serious attempt! haha, i know i suck but i hope, with practice and encouragement i can get some decent standard of painting and modelling down packed =D

On a gaming note, as my army list states, my generals main purpose is to charge in like a psycho and bitch slap the vampire general and any others that get in the way!

But cha!

Im out - Ghost ninja.gif

It'd be easier to comment if you had any higher resolution pictures. It looks pretty good from what you've shown.

Looking good so far. I really like the ruins. You could use bits of sprue cut up with an exacto knife to create some rubble, that would add a bit of detail. I think painting it's going to be easy for you. Make sure you cover the ruins first with a 3 parts White Glue 1 Part Water to seal it first. Then, you can prime it black, and then just drybrush grey. Add some flock and it's good to go!

Something you can try on the catwalk (I heard you call it that, turned on the sound halfway through) is put some vertical grooves into the sides, to texture the surface. It's a nice start so far, but it still retains the shape of the floral arrangement foam.

ive put some grooves and stuff in the sides. kind of experimenting tbh but as ive stated before, my camera isnt the greatest quality! lol

ill try and post some stills if i can. Thanks fer the advice about the styrofoam. i didnt know that haha yay! more ruins here we come

I should be getting my 5X4 MDF board in the next few days. Im thinking of going for a snow theme as I dont want to go for a conventional board.

ALSO GOOD NEWS! As soon as my pay processes in the next few days through paypal, I will purchase my first Chaos Warriors box mid spraypaint so I'll get it the next day. Ill keep you posted!

In addition i should prolly change the title of this topic as my gaming buddy has opted to go for an Ogre Kingdoms army. Ive drawn up a list which ill post in a few mins.

Stay tuned peeps!

Another good item to consider getting for foam is a hotcutter. Just be careful that what you are cutting doesn't release toxic fumes!

haha. yeah my mate had a bit of a run in with one of those. his little brother took it to some chalk and actually knocked himself out with it hahahaha

IMO i run better with Oasis green bricks than styrofoam. i find the foam is just too soft and too perculiar a consistency. Green stuff, whilst easy to mold is much more my forte.

ANywho! C&C on armylist thanks loves!
