Hi. I've recently used a hook to interact with the gave server. Right now, the client just sends an integer and ther server responds by printing the integer. That seems fairly meaningless for game play.

I would like to do something that is actually meaningful for game play, but my attempts haven't been fruitful so far. Let me show you an extremely simple attempt that makes the client's game play stop working:

' In commons.dxl

EVENT doTestHook(testNum)
Call doTransform($AGENT)
Print testNum

Without the DoTransform line, the game and the hook work just fine, as decribed above. When I add the DoTransform line, however, if the player is a vampire with the transform button showing on the interface at the time, the call to the hook makes the next player movement to another room show the underworld screen instead of the next room.

So, here are my questions: 1. Was the hooks feature never designed to change game play? By this I mean to ask if I am trying to misuse the feature. 2. If it was meant to be used to change game play, what am I doing wrong, or what is a way to do something like this correctly?
