 Player Save By Script?

I apparently need a way to save the player by script as if the player would have pressed the SAVE button. I could not figure it out from the developer's reference.

The use is for a battle system. I have a system in which the player's hit points are tracked as a character attribute. Currently it is possible to SAVE before a fight, and if the fight goes badly, restore all the lost hit points because of the save file. In order to get rid of this 'cheat', I'd like to make a forced save by script each time the player loses hit points.

Any help is appreciated!

If the intent is to disallow such a restore activity, perhaps all you need to do is "if fight starts, check for save file and delete it". "If fight complete, make a save file".

Trying to create a save for every instance of a change to hit points might be expensive in terms of time and disk IO if the game has many players. I don't say that from experience, just thinking "out loud".

Yeah, it would dramatically add to disk usage. Probably not a good idea.

It just occurred to me that I could simply give xp after the fight, which would be lost if the player restores from a save before the fight. The player could decide if the fight was worth the points or not and based on that either restore from save or keep going. But, then there is a problem of item drops. Items will stay on the scene when the player restores from a save, I think.
