Jake had worked all day, trying to settle into his new internship. He was still trying to get used to Albuquerque in general. Although the work was no different than in New York - besides whatever new projects he was assigned - he had a whole firm of new colleagues, and everything was in new locations. After work, he went straight home to Sophie and her nanny, who would be staying the night while he went out. He joined them for a couple of hours, playing with Sophie and talking to the nanny, before happily cooking them a great dinner. He also stayed for their dessert, tonight's being sundaes with a huge variety of toppings, and then got ready to leave while Sophie got ready for her bath. He changed into a new dark suit without a tie and walked into the bathroom, kissing his daughter goodbye with a smile, and bade goodbye to the nanny.
Now, Jake sat in the VIP section of Club Zero, the newest club, and most likely the nicest in all of Albuquerque. Its grand opening had attracted many important businessmen and women, mostly young, and any celebrities in the vicinity. Many of those prominent people currently sat in the same area as him, though he was surrounded by several co-workers and new friends. The VIP section was located on the upper level in the shape of a ring, and decorated with sleek, dark furniture to match the rest of the club. He sat on an extremely comfy couch, beer in hand, and chatting with well dressed guys. Most of them were eyeing a group of women sitting nearby, who were giggling a little and eyeing them back. He looked around the club, looking through the railing and at the dancing crowd below. There were tons of blondes, so it was hard to tell, but he had not yet seen Amber. He wasn't exactly waiting for her, but she hadn't called him, and he was curious to see if she showed up.

Amber went to school like she normally did on weekdays and sat there listening to all her teachers go on and on about whatever subject they were suppose to be teaching. Amber got good grades which was kind of a shock because she tended not to listen alot of the time. The only reason she went to school really was to be around her friends and just people that had the same interests as her. When she got home both her parents were there and she knew when they were home she had to be on her best behavior meaning she had to do homework. It was a friday she wanted to her homework like sunday night. That's what she usually did and when her parents asked did you do it she said yes of course. But now they were home and they would be watching her very closely. She sat at the kitchen table and did the homework that was assigned. She hated it because not all of the subjects were interesting. She liked history a bit just because it was real people's lives and it had already happened and it was just interesting to hear how they dealt with the problems back then and how hard it was for them. Amber wasn't going to be a history major or anything but it was the one subject that she got, english she got...most of the time or she tried to get it most of the time.
Finally after an hour or so the homework was done and she could go out and do stuff. She mostly wanted to take a nap though. School had made her extremely tired. She went upstairs to her bedroom and took a little nap and she woke up to hear her phone alarm. She turned and reached for her phone, she read the memo and then it hit her. She was suppose to be going to the new club to see Jake. She had remembered putting it in her phone and such but just must have forgotten the date which just happened to be today. She got up and went into the bathroom. She took a shower and then dried her hair. She put it just straight but with a tiny curl at the bottom. Then looked through her closet and picked out a pair of nice black jeans which a silver loop belt to match and then decided on a light blue top with a silver necklace that came with the belt. She put on a pair of shoes, nothing really fancy but someone better then sneakers. She put on some eyeshadow and mascara and shiny lipgloss she had. She grabbed everything she needed and put it in her purse then began to head out the door. Her parents stopped her and she told them she was just going out with a friend for a bit and would be back soon. She walked out the door before they could question her more. She got in the car and drove down the street. SHe looked in her phone and saw she also put the address. SHe looked around for it until finally she found it. She parked her car and walked up to the door. It looked really nice from the outside. Surprisingly the person at the door let her in. She thought it would be more difficult...then she walked inside. She looked around and nodded it was incredible. But there was so many people it would be almost impossible to find Jake. She figured maybe she should just walk around a bit and scope out the place...then it came to her..text messaging. She took her phone out and found his number and sent a text.."I'm here" and hit send then put the phone in her pocket and continued walking.

Jake had just set his empty beer bottle down on the nicely polished table between his couch and the next one, when he felt his phone vibrating. Although the music was not as loud upstairs as it was on the dance floor, it was still too loud for him to hear his phone ring. He reached into his pocket and pulled his cell out, reading Amber's text. He glanced up to see if he could spot here, but the club was jam packed with people and he doubted he would be able to find her. He texted back "Meet me at the bar" and stood up, excusing himself from his friends as he headed towards the nearest staircase. He followed it down to the ground floor, glancing around again before walking over to the large circlular bar. People were constantly coming and going, grabbing drinks between dances, and others took up almost every available seat. He chose two vacant, comfortably cushioned bar stools, and sat down on one. He continued looking around while he waited for Amber.

Amber looked around just admiring everything. It was different, different from most clubs she had been to. Maybe that's because it was new and just newer things and a different look. There was something about it that just caught her eye. She looked at the detail put into it and she could tell that some hard work was put into it. She can understand why it must have taken a long time to build and get ready, there were so many little details to oversee. She felt as though she had walked the whole place but that to be impossible it was to big to walk the entire place. And plus she had only been there for a few minutes. SHe then felt her phone going off. She picked it up and read Jakes text. She put her phone back in her pocket and looked over at the bar. She tried walking around people but then she figured that the only way to get there would be to get through the crowd. She she pushed her way through thinking that she would eventually be swallowed by all of them or something. Finally she made it to the bar. She sighed and shook her head slightly. She looked around and then saw a familiar face. She walked down a bit and then came face to face with Jake. "Hey."She said with a smile. "I told you I'd be here."She said taking a seat down next to him.

Jake was not sitting there long before Amber found him. He returned her smile as she sat down. "And here you are. Can I buy you a drink?" He looked her over very casually, taking in her outfit in one glance.

Amber sat there and crossed her legs. She put one of her arms across her legs and the other arms on the bar. She looked at him and smiled. "Well when I say I'm going to be somewhere. I don't lie... A drink would be nice. I think I just want a water though. Nothing fancy just something to help my mouth not be dry."She said with a little giggle. She wasn't all that thirsty but she figured that if she didn't take a drink now she'd be dying later in the night. So she thought why the hell not. She could have went all out and ordered something crazy but today didn't feel like one of those nights to order a crazy drink like that. "I know water is kind of lame but hey it's still a drink."She shrugged.

"I don't think it's lame. It's the best drink to quench your thirst." Jake replied, grinning a little at how dumb it sounded. He motioned to one of the bartenders for Amber's water. "Did you find the club okay?"

She looked at him and nodded her head at him. She looked around then looked back at him. "Oh ya it wasn't that bad at all. I mean I kinda knew the area and looked at the address and found it with my own common knowledge. I used something. It's called my brain."She laughed. "It's a really nice club. It must have took alot of hard work to make this place look the way it does. I mean it looks amazing. And it's packed...hopefully people keep coming like this every night." She smiled.
